The overall experience was very good. Service was great by Michael. Food took a little longer than I expected. Would patronize again.
Son took me out, along with my wife, for Father’s Day. Despite the glowing reputation of chef & wonderful ambience & service, the dishes were disappointing. The cole slaw and lamb meatballs tasted awful. All else, but the fried chicken entree was bland.
My girlfriend and I have dined here twice in these past few months and both times were blown away by the flavor of the dishes. However, the food comes second to the service we had from Chris both times! The charisma, professionalism, and intelligence from this gentleman is amazing and definitely made our experiences ones to remember. Thanks from Jalal and Daraus!
Our food was delicious, and service was great. However, our dining experience was disturbed by two yapping lap dogs at the next table, each sitting in their own chairs. We were surprised that a restaurant at a 5-star hotel would allow this.
Food was great! Service could have been better, but overall a great experience!
We are visiting from out of town and the experience was over the top. We appreciate the atmosphere and attention to detail. Awesome family style restaurant.
Beautiful setting !!! Fried green tomatoes were delicious 😋 Our server Mike was OUTSTANDING!!!
We were there celebrating my baby sisters birthday. We had a group of family and friends. The night was very enjoyable... lots of smiles and laughs. The food and drinks were great at the Southern Art Restaurant
The service was excellent... Chris (Richard) was very knowledgeable, courteous, attentive and very friendly! We had 12 guest and was able to show each of special attention, while ensuring everyone had a great time. Chris gets an A1 - Gold Star ⭐️
What a wonderful evening out! Food was exceptional, super service, and great bourbon selection. Loved the decor too. Highly recommend for a date night that delivers!
Need more menu options during lunch.
The macaroni and cheese was incredible! Good portion sizes and attentive service.
Yes, the fried chicken and the shrimp & grits ARE that good! And the service was second to none. Amazing dining experience.
The service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Shrimp & Grits were spicy and the fried chicken was exceptional! The peach cobbler was so good and the wait for food was short! Definitely returning.
This used to be my all time fav. I would literally drive 4hours to dine at SA, but now I wouldn’t walk there. The favor profiles are still yummy but the service was super slow and the food was served lukewarm. It seems like Art Smith’s recipes are still being utilized but no one is in charge or manages the kitchen. We ordered a bottle of Riesling, the waiter brought out Moscato (30 mins later). He never brought the correct wine even after he was advised he brought us the wrong one. Either he was unqualified to know the distinction Ethernet the two or they were out of Riesling and he didn’t tell us. The front desk offered a complimentary GLASS of wine as compensation for his error. A glass? I guess I’ll have to find a new favorite restaurant because this place has gone to hell in a breadbasket.
Celebrating new position
Dinner was great
Food was good, but not enough to make up for the service or price. Waited 25 minutes for our drinks and the place was barely 25% full. $22 for a cheese and meat plate with a few slices of meat and cheese. Brought the family here a few years ago and this place has gone downhill since.
I took my Mom here for Mother's Day. Our reservation was for 12:30 and we arrived on time. Valet parking at the Hotel was nice however when we arrived in front no one approached my vehicle so I had to get out and motion for someone to take my keys. Checked in and ended up waiting almost an hour for our table. I was offered a beverage and got a glass of wine I wasn’t offered a mimosa or brunch bubbly. Ok so we get inside the venue and it was not what I expected. All open banquet style seating with stations all around the room. I thought it would’ve been in the actual restaurant and it was not advertised as such. All of the Food was excellent. Carving station, seafood, omelettes, dessert etc.... A flower bouquet making station was a nice add on. They even had a mini zoo for the kids. All adult beverages were a separate price. For $69 per person you could’ve gotten a glass of something with your meal.. ijs.. overall our experience was pretty decent but I would not return for Mother’s Day again. I prefer a more intimate setting for this personal day out with my Mom. I will definitely check out the restaurant itself though because the food was excellent.
Not based on this past weekend experience the atmosphere wasn’t what I expected. Wanted to eat in the restaurant but was placed in the ballroom. It wasn’t a great experience for my family and I .
Fantastic dining. The menu changed since our last visit but otherwise a very excellent dinner.
We moved from Atlanta 2 years ago and came back for a day in the city. Southern Art and Bourbon Bar on a week night was a good place to visit with good friends, wait for the traffic to ease out before starting home and put a perfect ending to good day in Atlanta!
Food was excellent. Was disappointed that they were out of the fried green tomorrow’s. Service was slow despite the empty restaurant on a Monday noght
Everything was outstanding! Our server, Chris, was one of the best waiters I've ever had. He was attentive and wonderful. Highly recommend this restaurant.
My family enjoyed Southern Art on a Saturday evening celebrating my sons 21st birthday. The service was great and attentive. The food was delicious and the drinks were perfect and plentiful!!!! Beautiful restaurant and awesome ambiance.
We went for a birthday celebration. After looking at reviews, we thought it would be the perfect spot. Service was so bad that we only ordered appetizers and went to another restaurant for dinner.
Would be 5 stars all the way, but the prices on the menu are incorrect. The web site lists the correct prices.
Excellent experience from beginning to end. Service and servers were excellent. Food was great and drinks were on point. We were celebrating my boyfriends bday and they made him feel so special.
Easter Brunch was incredible here!
The only reason I didn’t give the service a 5 star is because I left 5 messages over a period of two weeks attempting to change my reservation time. I made the reservation over open table and have found that the timing is more flexible if I call the facility directly. Otherwise I was very pleased. This is my second family Easter celebration at this hotel. Each time we have had at least 10 family members in our party.
Amazing Easter Brunch buffet! Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunt, and petting zoo. We had the best experience!
It was our third time at the Easter brunch. The food, decorations and petting zoo were scaled back quite drastically, but the price per person increased. This was very disappointing. Also, for $100 per head, you would think that they would at least include espresso coffee & mimosas, but we were charged extra for those. Food quality and service was good but very overpriced.
The food was pretty good. I loved how attentive our waiter was when it came to our bottomless mimosas, I never saw the bottom of my glass. The environment was very nice and quiet however i did go at 12p on a Sat during Easter weekend.
Brunch was nice. The omlet/ waffle line was very long. The food was delicious
Food, atmosphere and service were excellent. The bar program needs attention. When advertising as a bourbon one expects the bourbon menu to be available for consumption. It took 4 attempts to find a bourbon that was in stock. I can understand the the pappys of the world being out of stock but weller, elmer and elijah craig i expect to be available from a bar with bourbon it its name.
Terrific food and service.
Excellent choice and food delicious .
Wonderful food, great service and ambiance. Beautiful decor in restaurant. Parking ticket was stamped by server. Very nice!
