We loved this restaurant. The food was very good and had some unusual pairings of flavors. I would highly recomend. We went early because of anither appointment, but the night scene is quute good.
The food was good. Service was very good. The only issue was we arrived at 8:30 and were done by 9:30. The food was served too fast. We felt very rushed as by 9 the restaurant atarting filling up with very large parties and appeared to be turning into a club later on. For the cost of dinner we would have liked to sit and enjoy a 2 hr dinner and have time to converse with our friends etc etc.
My husband and I had reservations at 10pm on Friday. The music and ambience was amazing! I had the crab cake and filet mignon - very delicious! We had a great time!!
This is a great restaurant, with an exciting bar/ night life scene. A wonderful summer party place.
We were a party of 6 dining at 6.30 pm on a mid-week. We had visited before for restaurant week and were very impressed with the food so we invited some friends to join us. The food and service were great. We ordered Oysters, Zucchini chips, crab cake, Caesar salad, and mussels as appetizers. All were delicious, fresh and well prepared. Main courses ranged from the short ribs (eaten with a fork they were so tender), mahi mahi, steak and the chicken. All these choices were from a prix fix menu and there were lots of other choices too. The drinks were good sized pours and were served quickly and with a smile.
Overall, highly recommended, especially earlier in the night for us older folks! :-)
Fantastic food, great ambiance, and courteous, accommodating staff!!
I had the best pasta dish I have ever had at a restaurant. Lobster Capellini--a must! And the veal chop was the best-looking dish! The salads were ok. The apps were fine. The wine menu could use some sprucing up. But the entrees were outstanding.
fun, casually elegant, great food, wonderful ambiance, great people watching, great place to have cocktails and dance after dinner, gorgeous backyard space with bar. highly recommend!
We wanted to go to The Social Club for our Anniversary as our son Robby Despres is getting
married there on May 11th. Dinner was excellent, as was the service. We would definitely
go back for dinner again.
great dining experience! the food is outstanding and Ian runs a perfect show!
Dined here 2x during restaurant week. First with some girlfriends and we enjoyed it so much I had to bring my husband back. Not only is the restauant beautifully designed but the food was delicious, creative and quite generously portioned. Great vegetarian options. Service was friendly and personel. Will be back for sure.
perfect lighting, nice arrary of appetizers and entrees, UNCOMFORTABLE CHAIRS, creative menu, great waitress (Jesse). The desserts were not particularly memorable. All in all, a reall good restaurant!
Not only is this one of THE Hamptons hot spots, but much to my surprise, the food is outstanding! We had the tuna and the short ribs and both were divine! It is great to start a night with fine dining and then have the place turn into one the hottest clubs of the Hamptons! And I am very excited to learn that it will continue to be open through December! Do not miss the opportunity to eat here just because you think it is a place to dance, you will be short changing yourself!
This place is known for its late night scene, which is why until now we'd never tried it for dinner. We Reid it early in the season (April) and early in the evening, and while it was pretty empty, we loved the experience. The food is really good -- try the crab cake; it's all crab -- and the service was sweet and attentive. far from being a place with late night bar munches, this is a a real restaurant with great food. We can't wait to return!
Great food on an exceptional off-season prix fixe menu for $25, in front of a roaring fire. Generous portions and quality ingredients. The crabcake was all crab, tuna was perfectly done and melt in your mouth, and the shortribs were tasty and succulent. Only thing missing is a pastry chef, but Juniors cheesecake and ice cream sadwiches are an ok substitute. Service was extremely pleasant. Unfortunately we were the only one's in the place on a cold Thursday night in December. Come spring I bet this place is jumping.
An exceptional dining experience from start to end. Ambiance, service, cocktails, food, wine and prices were all outstanding. It was a perfect choice for our anniversary celebration. In a word, perfect.
Wonderful pre-fix menu and price . The night we went no one was there but us. I hope that changes because it is worth a visit
Greeted warmly by all of the staff. Chef personally came out of the kitchen twice to make sure the meal was perfect, and it was!!! Prices were unbealeavable for the quality of the food and service. Absolutly one of the best in the tri-state area. Can not wait to bring the rest of my family there for special occasions.
Looking forward to returning again!
Good: food was excellent; nice atmosphere
Bad: they ran out of the entree I most wanted to order and I had to order my second choice; service was very slow (they were short handed-only one waitress!)
Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed it enough to go back and give them another chance.
A hidden gem in the Hamptons. My maple chicken was the best I have ever tasted. Formerly Madam Tong's in Southampton. Brand new sound system to die for. $25 prix fixe. Can't do better than that. Beautiful and romantic. A New York City type restaurant I would highly recommend. Very few people know about this place. Open til January 1 Wednesday through Saturday and re-opening April 1.
Good food & nice experience. Very good value prix fixe at $30. We liked the mussels & Tate's cookie ice cream, or in our case, sorbet, sandwich, but unfortunately, we didn't really enjoy our entree, the striped bass, which was quite dry or the crabcake appetizer.
However, would be happy to give this restaurant another try since many of the dishes seemed quite promising.
It was my first time in this restaurant,an I am planning to make yet another visit, soon!:) I think it's nice venue for any romantic occasion such as weddings, proposal etc. Food was great!!! loved the prifix menu choices.
On the night we visited the Southampton Social Club, we were the only diners there. The host greeted us warmly and the server did also. She was very attentive to us throughout our meal. The food was very good and the price was reasonable. We will definitely return!
Ambiance, food, and service was all spectacular!
Looking forward to returning this summer.
Food was uniformly awful. 6 diners w 6 awful entrees. Would never eat there gain. Surprise it can survive a restaurant.
This is a known "Social Club" in the evenings and late-night, but I decided to try it for dinner with a few colleagues. Waitress was nice and polite, not really a foodie or waitress, more like "eye candy"....the food servers were CLUELESS, sorry for the waitress, I think she was embarrassed. Overall, nice meal, although my LI Duckling was over cooked and dry. Enjoyed the evening, worth the trip.
Not a place to go for dinner as our waitress admitted, they aren't known for the food, more for the after dinner drink crowd. I agree, the food was just okay, nothing to write home about and the atmosphere was awkward at first, since we were one of three tables and it was 8:30pm, then as it got busy, we became the only table of two amongst a sea of bachelorette parties. It wasn't really the atmosphere we were looking for especially over a $100 bottle of wine. I would recommend going with friends for a drink, not for dinner or with a date.
Dont come here for the food - the Cesar salad was wilting and my pasta dish tasted like feet. The service was great and the bar scene is what really makes this place fun!
Great setting and food presentation
food was a very fatty potion of Veal and truffled mash potatoes that missed the mark and were luke warm. The noise was intense from music of a dj and then a band that did 2 songs and took a break. It is more a bar/club than a restaurant. Won't go back or recomend to anyone
Amazing place to eat and party at after. HIGHLY reccomend
Plesant surprise. Atmosphere nice, food good, and service good.
this place is fun and outdoor seating is great but the food is terrible and expensive for what it is....service was not good either
after no food arrived for two hours we left. I was told someone in the kitchen had walked out but only told after I was tired enough of waiting so I asked for my drink check..I have canceled all future reservations
The service was surprisingly good until about 10:30 then they pretty muich forgot about us and we had to hunt her down for the check. Then she made a mistake and it took more hunting her down to fix it. I will say the food good for a group of 10 people, everyone was happy. And it is a significant imporvment over Madame Tongs. So i'm keeping this on my top list for large group dining. I just need to ask for the check before 10pm.
The former Madame Tongs is unfortunately trying to transition itself into a bottle service type club. The once friendly outdoor area now has "bottle service" tables whereby in order to sit-you need to pay ridiculous amounts of money for bottles of cheap alcohol. Sorry, but I'll be dining and partying elsewhere...
good new menu
I have to be honest, I won't go back. If I do, it'll only be for cocktails. The food was disgusting. My had short ribs which were cold and raw and my friend ordered a flat bread pizza which was cardboard and unedible. Ellios Pizza looked better. We had a 9pm reservation, didn't get sat till 9:35pm and our food didn't come out till 11:45pm. The waitress bought my group one round of drinks for the wait but it was very sad. I loved Madame Tongs and was hoping I'd have a similar experience. Unfortunately I didn't.
It was a disaster. The manager Jeff couldnt have been nicer though and was very apologetic. Go for the bar scene, not for dinner.
