I was really hopeful that we’d have a great experience, based on the reviews I read. Unfortunately, this place missed the mark. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean, and the service was good. We were greeted and sat right away. I made reservations for Father’s Day. We order the jalapeño biscuits. They were stale, extremely dry, and just not good. We sent them back. We also ordered the beignets which are made to order, so we knew it would take some time. They arrived in about 20 mins, burnt to a crisp. You can smell that they were burnt. Those went back. My breakfast Sammie had potential, and it was almost good, but it was drenched in the aioli, so wasn’t good. The parfait and spicy Salmon roll were good (the only 2 items without issue). My son’s chicken fingers and fries weren’t kid friendly, and were basically fried chicken chunks. This could have been preference but my 5 year old passed on it. His dad ordered the steak and eggs. Steak was cooked to temp, which he ate. The simple salad that it came with was drenched in dressing, so not edible. They did take off the biscuit and beignets from our check, which I appreciated. Overall I wouldn’t recommend, at least not for brunch.

Another wonderful time at the South Village Grille with family and friends. A couple of new items on the menu for trying and sharing. Had the salmon with the forbidden rice which was a wonderful new flavor combination. We always finish our dinner experience with beignets. They are the best!

We were visiting OSU (group of 5) ...South Village came up in my search and I'm so happy I chose to go. Perfect menu with a broad, but reasonable range, excellent quality food (and sushi!), attentive and friendly service and a great atmosphere. I will definitely return! Thanks for a great experience.

Everything was excellent. Service was great. Drinks were fabulous. Lobster roll was delicious. Calamari waa very different & probably the best I've had, nice light batter very tender, wish there was a bigger ratio of Calamari to the shredded cabbage mixture, but still vertical tasty!

Amazing server! The house burger was delicious! Loved the truffle fries and the beignets. Always a great time when I dine here!

This used to be our favorite spot to come to, but something has changed in our last 2 visits. Either new management or new ownership has taken over, and it shows, but not in a positive way. We like to sit at the bar and not that we need to talk with the bartender majority of our visit, I think it’s always welcome and when you can chat and vibe with the bartender and they give back the same energy, that truly makes the experience wonderful and exciting. That’s what our experience used to be. Now when we walk in, it takes quite a bit for the bartender/crew to acknowledge our presence. Where’s the old crew? Bring em back! 🙏

Outstanding service! I took some clients there for lunch and everything was exceptional! They gave us dessert to try and wings to taste that they were considering adding to the menu. It was 5 stars all the way!
