The South Fork Lodge, nestled along the banks of the South Fork of the Snake River, features upscale Americana crafted by Blue Ribbon-winning BBQ chef Adam Perry Lang and James Beard Award-winner Chris Bianco. Our family-style menu emphasizes local ingredients and seasonal fare, executed by James Beard nominated chef Cassie Shortino and chef Jennie Curtis. The Machete Bar, located inside the South Fork Lodge, provides one of the region’s finest wine lists, whiskey collections, and selection of local beer.

*We have one menu option per night, changing daily, served at 7 PM. If you have any dietary restrictions, please be sure to make note of them. Feel free to come earlier for drinks and appetizers.

*No-show reservations will incur a charge of $50 per guest if not notified beforehand.

*We are ~1 hour from Jackson Hole and Idaho Falls, please plan accordingly.

It was a beautiful crisp night dining on the edge of the river. Food service was seamless family style, and there was no rush to dine and dash. Such a great spot for special occasions

The food is superb, beverage selection and cocktails - extraordinary! The staff is topnotch and treated us like family; Oliver White and Sadie Montana even stopped by to check on us! The views, breathtaking! Every detail was well thought out and beautifully executed. The Lodge itself is a masterpiece! Made memories with friends we will never forget & are looking forward to our next visit!

What a lovely evening. Drinks around a fire, dinner outside with a breathtaking view of the river and surrounding mountain terrain. We finished the evening watching the sunset and letting the night creep in around a fire pit close to the river. Truly creating a special memory.

The food was incredible and the service was fantastic! The chef was very accommodating to my picky 6 and 8 year old, which was greatly appreciated. We all 4 thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the views and the experience. Highly recommend!

Wonderful and relaxing dining experience at the South Fork Lodge. The restaurant is nestled on a lovely bend along the South Fork of the Snake River. The view is amazing. From our initial arrival the staff were attentive, warm, and welcoming. The menu was prix fixe. Everything was fresh and presented with great care. Our main course was elk tenderloin with a reduction, cheese polenta, and roasted/glazed multicolored carrots. The food was impeccable, generously portioned, and prepared to perfection. From the salad course to dessert, everything was delicious. Perfectly seasoned. Bravo to the the chef and kitchen wizards. Take your special friends for a memorable evening. I’ll be coming back.

Everything was excellent. Dinner portions were very generous. The elk tenderloin was so delicious - very, very tender. Oliver most hospitable with a great ambiance inside due to the rain. Can’t beat sitting outside by the river when available.

Everyone is special and the experience is beyond expectations. We love to go and are thankful to be able to enjoy the view, the facilities and the staff. Cannot wait for the new fly shop to open.

We went out for a family meal to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The staff was just phenomenal. For days after the experience we talked about how wonderful the staff was, just as much as how delicious the meal and drinks were.

South Fork Lodge is a slice of heaven we discovered quite by accident. Randomly looking for a place to have dinner in the Idaho Falls area South Fork Lodge was the fifth entry on Open Table. They had me from “Farm to Table” experience. We drove out to Swan Valley, ID forty miles from Idaho Falls with no expectation. What we experienced was nirvana. A friendly bar well stocked. An exceptional fixed price family style meal served by wait staff who were all in in making sure you had the very best dining experience. The ambiance was a 10! We were so caught up in the moment we booked a stay at the lodge for 2023. This is a come back to place!

First time to the SFL restaurant. We sat at the small bar and waited quite a while to even be acknowledged by the bartendress or staff. She eventually took our order for 2 margaritas made with Petron tequila. We waited and waited, and I even commented to my girlfriend about her making drinks for servers that were ordered after ours. She finally came back up to us after about 10 minutes and asked us what we would like lol …. As if she had never seen us before. I said we’d like the margaritas we had already ordered, she laughed, and then started making them with well tequila not Petron. I had to remind her of our order that she quite literally took 10 mins earlier and completely forgot about. And It’s not like it’s a big bar, there were only 6 other people sitting at the bar. Now to dinner - the meal is whatever they’re serving that night, no choices, and everyone sits down at 7 (we knew this going in). We found our table and sat down and talked for about 15 minutes without a single greeting. Then a salad bowl was just dropped off at out table, again without a word of greeting. We were hoping someone would at least come by and ask if we would like another drink, or a bottle of wine, or maybe even just say “Hi” … but nope ! The dinner came and I won’t bother going through each item, but none were noteworthy, or tasty, or hot, and the dessert was literally terrible. Service - barely one step above a self serve Buffett Food - uninteresting, especially for the price. We won’t be back which is a bummer because we have a home in Swan Valley and we were hoping for so much more !
