very nice meal and our waitress was great. She suggested the salmon and it was wonderful and the risotto was yummy!
LOUSY DINING EXPERIENCE! !!! Ordered appetizer: charcuterie plate. Waited for awhile to place main course order. Appetizer & entree brought to table at the same time! Disappointed, we informed the server who told manager. She offered apology, but nothing else. Then came back with “it’s our fault, so here’s a glass of champagne” (awful, by the way) to appease us for ruining our dinner experience. I don’t appreciate being treated as though the restaurant is “too busy” to care about the patrons dining experience. Food was mediocre, nothing special-especially when you’re seated basically on a road, looking at parking lot. There’s plenty of other places to go, so don’t bother going here...
The lunch was very good except I ordered a salad with my sandwich and I got green beans. My very nice waiter offered to bring ma a salad but I declined. Other than that, all went well.
Had dinner there about 2 weeks ago. Had a reservation for 5:30. Was seated on time but the table was too small for 4 people and near the entrance. Food arrived before the bread. Did not have time to sip the wine. Felt rushed the whole time. Very noisy area. Did not leave happy.
Always the best choice...Pork chop was awesomeness
Only problem was rude greeter
One of our favorites for just an everyday meal.
Great food, atmosphere and service
We enjoyed a nice lunch on a breezy but sunny day. Our original reservation was for an outdoor table, but it was a little cool so our waiter kindly accommodated us at a high top in the bar. We were much more comfortable, and shared a bottle of wine. Then had different sandwiches - the battered fish sandwich can also be grilled, and it was great. Attentive service too. Would recommend and will go back.
I met a friend whom I hadn't seen for quite awhile. We had plenty of time to catch up before ordering, ate a leisurely lunch and continued conversation into cappuccino and beyond. We did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date. Food was delicious and well prepared.
Couldn’t carry on a conversation it was so loud
I was very disappointed since this restaurant had good reviews. At first I thought the waitress was a bit stressed but then I realized she was just rude. We had the ahi tuna duo and baked Brie as an appetizer. The tartare portion was full of red onions and I couldn’t even tell the difference between the chunks of tomato and tuna if there even was any in there. But since it only tasted like red onions the tuna would have just been for texture. The seared tuna was over cooked - medium (not even close to rare) and therefore was starting to have a canned tuna flavor.
For dinner we both had the grouper which sounded amazing and we were told it’s the top seafood dish. My son had the chicken fingers which were done the same was as the beer battered fish. They were incredibly greasy. The fish was ok. Flavor profile was on point but for $30 I would have expected fresh flavors. The corn was not fresh and although not fishy the fish was definitely not as fresh as it could be. Both of our pieces were not properly cooked - totally undercooked in the center leaving us to both eat around the outside. It wasn’t a terrible meal but disappointing because some simple changes like using fresh ingredients and properly cooking could have made a huge difference. I’d say they are cutting corners and in the long term will only hurt themselves because they won’t have repeat clientele. I wish Blue Water just down the way was still in business
We are regulars at South Fork and it is always very good. Tonight Jessica served us and I would say she is the best they have. Very attentive and friendly! We both ordered the beef short rib gnocchi which was delicious but had less sauce than other times we have ordered it. We sat outside and it was a bit chilly so they kindly started the heaters for us. The house red is great and I love the warm bread! We will be back again soon :-)
I made reservations and still had to wait for 20 minutes. The hostess tried to convince us to eat inside, I reserved outside seating, and she suggested it might rain- but no it wasn’t raining.
The waitress seemed like she was stressed and was not happy to be working that day. The food was not as good as we had experienced on previous occasions.
Food is great but you must cut down on the noise level in the main dining room. Never heard anything so loud in any restaurant. In the future will always sit outside.
Everything is wonderful. Staff food ambiance Only problem. Always too cold indoors and they can’t seem to b able to control the thermostat
Great service and food. Nice alternative to chain restaurants.
As usual, our meal was outstanding, along with superior service. The short ribs are the best in Southwest Florida. I would highly recommend the salmon. We will be back. Thank you for an enjoyable evening
We have lunch and dinner here often. It is always great food, reasonably priced. Feels like a neighborhood restaurant.
So accommodating! We were meeting friends for a dinner where we expected to have lots of conversation. The first table they gave us was right where all the wait staff enter and exit the kitchen, so we asked to be moved and they quickly found us another table. Alas, it was right where people queued for the restrooms, so we asked to be moved to the next table, which had just become available. They were very patient with our moves, the waitstaff was great, and we loved both the salads and the entrees. A very pleasant place to dine. If it hadn't been so cold, we would love to have eaten outside. Will try this another time.
Very good food, and their specials are exceptional. One of our go-to spots. Inside is loud, and overly chilled. Service is quite good. They typically do a splendid job with reservations, and seating is quick. We’ll keep coming back, but everyone in our dinner foursome said they will sit outside next time.
Though we've generally been very pleased, tonight was extremely disappointing. The salmon was overdone. The ribeye special was very thin and thus served more on the well-done side. The waiter though seemingly helpful was not sufficiently knowledgeable and at times appeared to give answers that were either incorrect or excused the kitchen's deficiency. My wife asked the waiter to let the kitchen know about our unhappiness. Although he said he'd tell the manager who would take care of it, nobody came to even talk to us.
Need background music for ambiance. Soft listening music.
The seafood is fabulous! Loved eating outside
Great place for brunch and hanging out with friends.
we go to Southfork fairly often, and have done so for years...had Sat night dinner this past weekend...food is always consistently good...generous portions and a good value...
We sat outside which was much quieter than inside. Although early for our reservation we were accommodated quickly and pleasantly. Definitely a local favourite!
My husband and I and two friends met for dinner. We were seated right away but the restaurant felt like a meat locker, it was so cold. We waited awhile for our waitress who was nice and pleasant but couldn’t hear us because it was so loud. Also, conversation with our friends was very difficult due to the noise level. Our appetizers and main meals were very good as were the portions except for my husbands’ snapper which was a very small. I would not recommend this restaurant because it was uncomfortably cold and the noise level was too high.
we were seated in the wine room and although high energy, ambience could have been
enhanced with lowered lighting from a multitude of track lights etc.
First and foremost... this restaurant is freezing cold! There were customers in coats, sweaters and people rubbing their arms to stay warm. I asked our server twice if they can do something about the temperature in there. It fell on deaf ears.
If you plan on eating here.... ask for outdoor seating... or bring your winter coat.
Also, for a Friday night, service was very slow.
I witnessed a customer at the next table actually get up to look for their waitress to find out what happened to the beer he ordered.
We had reservations at 6:15. We arrived early and discovered that they have a early bird special. We could have ordered from it but our friends had not arrived. Next time we will have to go early. It is a great deal. Two entrees and a bottle of the house wine. We had a glass of it and it is good. The special is 35.00. We will defiantly go back. All our meals were really good.
My and my husband's food arrived not very hot. Who wants cool sweet potato hash or cool mashed potatoes? Not us. Restaurant was very busy - Friday night. If we go again, definitely not on a weekend - maybe off season or Mon or Tues. ...a very good restaurant has gotta send out hot food - this was not hot food, ergo for me, not a very good restaurant...ok but not v good.
Everything was great
Got us in just under the buzzer for happy hour
Very poor service
The bartender was excellent, making several recommendations for wine. The food, as always, was exceptional as was the waiter. The only problem was the 45 minute wait after our reservation time for our table.
I have been several times and invited three guests. Table ready promptly. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the salmon, grouper and gnocchi were excellent. All will return to sample more dishes.
Our service started out slow
Our waitress was nice
Food was marginal
Hostess was indifferent
Overall not impressed. Will probably not return
Poor Probably won’t go back
Met two friends for lunch in the shady patio area. Lovely venue , good food, and good service. A winner!
We had a perfect evening, outside table of 6, our waitress Caroline, was excellent, and everyone enjoyed their food.
We eat here often as the food and service is always excellent. We always eat outside as inside is somewhat noisy.
