South Fork Grille Ratings and Reviews
We drove up from Naples and met friends from Sanibel to enjoy the Restaurant Week pre-fixe menu. All the food was great - tasty, generous portions, well prepared and nice depth of flavors. The only exception was the sauce on the bread pudding that was gloopy and not silky like it was at First Bite. This was significant since the bread pudding was a factor in us selecting the restaurant. Service was attentive and the waitress was friendly. She was well informed about the menu and gave good recommendations. The main reason for the low rating on ambiance is that we were seated in an area of the restaurant that was uncomfortably cold and we were told that the restaurant has no control over the temperature because it is controlled by the shopping center. Otherwise the ambiance was good but not exceptional. Had the experience been more comfortable temperature-wise, I would have given a Very Good overall rating. Had the sauce on the bread pudding been more consistent I would have given an Outstanding rating.
We have enjoyed South Fork Grille for many years, all the way back to when it was The Grape. On Saturday, my husband was returning on a 7:30 flight, so we used it as an excuse to have dinner at South Fork. It is Restaurant Week, so I had their featured special, starting with baked brie, with a chicken entree. My husband chose off the menu. Everything was very good, except the bourbon vanilla custard bread pudding that was an option on my meal. It was dry & tasteless. We gave the very pleasant waitperson our criticism, which she'd asked for, and she said she'd relay to the chef, which we are sure she did. This restaurant has thrived because they have always been responsive to their customers. An enjoyable meal overall.
Food was subpar. New York strip what's not tender, had a burnt taste, and just was not an appealing cut of meat. My fries were in edible. Waitress had to bring me fresh fries. Not quite sure why they weren't fresh to begin with. Waitress was great, super friendly, super on point. Chef not so much. The smell of garbage on the side entrance was awful. You might want to think of a different entrance, or access.
Food and our waiter was great. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the Hostess and another outdoor waitress as they were very rude when we asked to dine at a different outdoor table. The hostess and waitress for the table we requested claimed it was reserved; not 2 minutes after we sat down another couple was sat at the table we requested and they were asked by the hostess if the table was satisfactory and if not they could have been moved. Truly reserved tables should be appropriately marked.
The only complaint I have is it’s very cluttered. By that I mean you can touch the people around you while you are sitting! The quarters are too close. Other than that, everything else was amazing from the service to the prices and especially the food!! We enjoyed it very much and will return again for happy hour! 😁
Reservation and 6 pm. Ordered drinks which took awhile. Finally ordered dinner. Later I was told the salmon was not available and I changed my order to Scollops. 3 scollops for $30?? Vs salmon for $24. Bad trade off. Service was slow. This was being run like it was going out of business. I will not be going back.
We love eating at SouthFork Grill . The food is consistently excellent . The owners and staff go above and beyond to accommodate any need you may have. Happy hour at SF is the best deal you’ll find anywhere along with a great rewards program .
An all around fun and casual dining experience .
Our service was great as was the food. My husband had the chicken entree and I had the salmon. However, the noise level inside was extremely loud. If you want to be able to hear your conversations, I'd recommend dining outside since the sound bounces off the high ceilings, walls and floor .
I've wanted to try South Fork Grille for months and it was absolutely worth the wait. The NY strip was phenomenal and actually cooked as ordered, service was solid, and the outdoor seating was perfect for perfect Southwest Florida weather. I have Celiac so gluten free options were important and most of the menu was available. It was a great spot for a date and we'll definitely visit again.
The food was exceptional. Vibrant atmosphere. However, the restaurant was quite noisy as there are all hard surfaces. Although this was our server’s first night working there she was very conscientious in making sure we had a nice experience. Would definitely go back and bring friends with us next time.
We ordered the Walleye which was one of the nightly specials. The dinner was very good. Service was excellent.
The only negative, and it was a good one, was the noise level. Way too loud on the inside. It was impossible to carry on a conversation at our table.
Definitely will go back but will sit outside!
The service was terrible. They delivered 2 dishes that were the choices the waitress suggested, not what we ordered, various dishes and silverware were dirty, the waitress rolled her eyes at me when I asked to replace the second dirty plate of the evening. When I requested a glass of ice water she pointed to a glass of water that wasn’t even mine with no ice that had been delivered an hour before and suggested I drink that.
The food had little flavor and only one room was quiet enough to hear each other.
We’ll never go back.
