Love the flexibility of the staff. Super customer friendly and the food is delish
There were a few bees flying around toward the end of our meal. Overall great place and delicious food!
The food was fabulous…the service , the lovely table in the bar…all fabulous!!!!
The downstairs can be loud when there are large parties seated.
It was so loud in the dining room that it was difficult to hear the conversation at our table (of 4 people). The service was just ok. The food was delicious though! I would recommend an outdoor reservation next time.
Reservations a must for Sunday brunch if you don’t enjoy waiting! Great neighborhood place.
Absolutely delicious dinner! Servers were kind and attentive, but the food was the highlight of the night. I’ve never been so happy to walk away feeling ill from fullness. I recommend getting the hibiscus Prosecco drink and sitting outside.
Great food & exceptional service. Thank you for a lovely experience.
The restaurant was not set up for dinner dining. Once the bakery closed which was early, there was no dessert or coffee to be serviced.
When we made the reservation, that information should have been shared. We had planned to have a complete meal with out of town friends. The meal was cut short because the restaurant was closing early since it could not offer a full dinner experience.
Worst restaurant I’ve been to in Boston in a while
They really packed everyone together
Food was extremely overpriced and under proportioned
Have been looking forward but will never go back
We've always had great food & service at the South End Buttery. It's our go to place for a Boston Brunch!
Fantastic breakfast. My friend and I got the Yuzu mimosa - never had Yuzu before and it was yummy. For our meals we split the french toast and the breakfast torta. My friend said the torta was the best breakfast sandwich she has ever had. It was quite yummy - loved the pickled onions to give it some acid. French toast was amazing too, and our server was super nice and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Well worth the drive to Boston on a Saturday morning.
Food was ok. People were very nice! It was weirdly quiet
I always enjoy dining at the South End Buttery! I make a point of having dinner there each time I visit Boston!
Slow to get the check at the end but the food was good - especially the salmon eggs Benedict !
The restaurant did a great job of accommodating our reservation although there had been a water leak that day. They called me earlier in the day to state we would need to be seated outside and when we got there and the problem had been resolved they offered us seating indoors in a lovely and quiet area complete with fireplace!
The salmon was the best I have had in years! Food was delicious, although the wait staff seemed a little rattled from their experiences that day. I definitely recommend the restaurant and will be back!
Great outdoor dining experience while in Boston!
First time there with my family and we love it!
We had a very nice brunch. Food was good. Service was better.
Our waitperson was very efficient, helpful and friendly.
We had a great experience in this restaurant. The waiter was very attentive, the food came out quickly and everything was delicious.
Lovely spot for brunch, would absolutely go again!
South End Buttery accommodated my brunch party of 5 with great service! Pecorino ruffle fries, nutella fritters and eggs benedict were the highlights. Also really great unique brunch cocktails. Would absolutely come again!
Always love it. My only complaint is the noise level is always high.
Perfect weather, a table outside in the attractive parklette, and delicious food and cocktails. Our waitress was very pleasant and appropriately attentive. We weren't rushed, and we enjoyed every bit of the evening.
Thank you -- what a beautiful day for eating brunch outdoors! You've got a lovely space, and we thoroughly enjoyed our spicy Bloody Marys. Nelson was our server and he was delightful.
Lovely meal outside on a beautiful night. Food was great!
We went for brunch for Mother’s Day. The food was fabulous as was the atmosphere and service. Best truffles fries I’ve ever had in my life!!
They had the best brioche french toast I have had in my life.
The food was delicious and the patio had a lovely ambiance.
Best brunch in the South End. The Buttery has become a favorite Sunday brunch spot before heading to the SoWa market. I highly recommend!
Particularly great waitstaff that evening, wonderful ambience, good, well price food. See you again!
The food and service were great (as always)! One of our favorite spots.
Took a while to get seated even though I had a reservation, which was bad. But the manager comped our first round of drinks, which was good. But neither my date and I drink, which means the round of drinks didn't really work. The food was delicious though as usual, so I'll visit again.
Calamari was excellent, well spaced out and lovely for a date or with family. Nice that it’s away from the hustle and bustle of tremont street. Such a relaxing dinner.
Went on a Saturday for brunch, unfortunately wasn’t able to sit outside but still enjoyed great food, good portions, and attentive service. At times a bit slow, but understandable given a busy Saturday for brunch. Lots to choose from on the menu, will definitely be back!
Great food, lovely service, nice atmosphere- a treat for sure
I went to brunch with a girlfriend. We ordered the buttery mimosa and pancakes along with the eggs & lox. The food was fantastic. The service was less than what is expected when you dine out frequently in Boston. Our food came and it took about 5 minutes before we even received silverware so our food was room temperature before we were able to dig in. We had to ask another server to order more drinks and our server never came by to check on how the food was and if we needed anything else. It was hard to appreciate the quality of food when we were always needing something and our server was no where to be found. I’d probably recommend ordering from the take away cafe upstairs because the food IS REALLY GOOD.
