Excellent food!! I had Benedicts and a breakfast scone and both were amazing. The service was really good but our table was downstairs and it was really noisy.
Great food and service; host was able to accommodate our last minute group size change
The dining area was pretty dirty which during this time is not very comforting.
Food quality and service definitely took a hit recently. Still decent but not as good as it used to be before covid.
It was a beautiful fall day out. The food was great and exactly what I wanted. It was a great brunch.
We sat in the booth in the dining room off of the cafe, I would have liked to see the downstairs dining I think that would have been a little bit of a cozier vibe But upstairs was still very nice. Great service and the food was amazing, the ricotta fritters with Nutella ... just get them. Eggs Benedict was SO good, best I’ve had. All around amazing brunch spot!
Delicious food! Asked for outside seating and was sat inside which with covid was not happy about. Also no dividers up which would have been nice to see. But food amazing like always!
My boyfriend and I loved the south end buttery. We sat in the basement which had a fireplace, lots of brick and stone and a beautiful wood ceiling. Very cozy vibes. Service was a bit slow but nothing too bad. Drinks were super tasty and decently priced! Truffle fries were AMAZING and my turkey burger was very good. Definitely would go here again soon.
This place really wasn’t it, the mimosas were good but the food itself was very mediocre I got a breakfast sandwich and it was not at all what I anticipated or expected. I’m pretty sure that they are pre-cooking the items for the sandwiches and then putting them together whenever someone orders one. Lol not trying to be a jerk but 70$ for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 mimosas was kind of far out. The greens served on the side were tasty though lol.
Try to hard to be fancy, watery coffee. Hair in food. Very bland food. Strong taste of "tap" in both water served and food. Normally don't do reviews, but with this being a place that you have to provide credit card info for a table reservation, potential customers should be aware of the not so worth it experience. Also, if a hoity-toity family walks in behind you, they will get sat and served before you.
Everything was insanely delicious! I could’ve ordered anything off the menu - it all sounded (and tasted) so incredible.
Extremely slow service. Not sure if they were short staffed but took about 10 minutes just to order a drink.
A Fav of ours! We love it here
I have been to this restaurant several times over the years. The food is always good. Its a popular neighborhood spot. This time, the service was particularly terrible. Waited a good 30 minutes just to get our coffee. Bread basket came with no plates or napkins. Asked for some but those never came. It seemed like our waiter was occupied training other services staff. The whole operation seemed particularly disorganized. He did offer us some coffee to go as an apology, which we didnt want as we had already waited so long and just wanted to go as our meal had already taken near 2 hours.
Delicious as always.
I waited 25 minutes for the omelette and the waitress charged me for the wrong table and price. Disappointing!
This place never disappoints.
Very good food! Good options of food and cocktails!
We had a delicious, relaxing meal outside in front of The Buttery. Our first concern these days is covid safety and the ability to reserve an outside table is a huge plus. Nelson, our waiter, was attentive, friendly, professional and masked the entire time. The tables were well separated. Now to the food: we had all been here before and knew to expect great food and we got it. The bacon-wrapped date appetizer was new to us and as delicious as it sounds. The roast chicken, an old favorite, still hits all the right spots. The bottle of tempranillo was perfect. We can't wait to be back.
Great breakfast spot. Waiter on the ball and humorous.
Food was INCREDIBLE. The service was wonderful. Could not have asked for more.
FABULOUS! Delicious! Everything was lovely!
Very disappointed with the breakfast scone. It was small and dry (expected more for a $7 scone)
At arrival (around 1145 on a Sunday) it was obviously a busy brunch, as expected, but it was very difficult to find a hostess to pull up my reservation and seat us. Once seated downstairs everything was wonderful, service and food. The espresso martini & ricotta fritters were great.
Very great place, too bad that the service (especially the seating when we arrived) was not as good.
Outside dining on a crisp Sunday morning for brunch was wonderful. Savory scone was a favorite. Eggs benedict on that biscuit was memorable. Location lovely, service prompt and courteous, food really really good. I will be back!
Loved the huge variety of eggs benedict styles!
Excellent food, the pastries were amazing and the egg entrees were also very good and very fresh. The coffee program is outstanding as well with good cocktails included from a very talented bar.
Nice patio and delicious food
Sunday Funday with my love. Great brunch @ a cool spot. Food & drinks were delicious. Love that it’s dog friendly too
Great job with covid and precautions.
The huevos rancheros was amazing and the outdoor seating along a less-busy street in the south end is picture perfect! Also their dirty chai lattes are unreal
Our outdoor seating table was slightly tilted due to the sidewalk - keeping our silverware was a challenge. It didn't make sense to have to go inside in order to be seated outside.
Otherwise, we were very grateful to the server for attentive service, the food was DELICIOUS and returning to the restaurant overall was a delight.
The Buttery never disappoints. The baked goods are so yum (the Ricotta Fritters though...omg...), the steak & eggs were both cooked and seasoned perfectly, the smoked salmon Benedict was spot on. Sweet & simple menu.
Very good food and menu. A perfect place to go for neighborhood dining. the staff is always accommodating and the food is always tasty and well prepared.
Love the menu and had a great time catching up with a friend!! Will be back!!
Having dined here before, I was excited to bring my friend from Chicago for brunch this last Saturday. Even having made a reservation, they sat us under the stairwell in a hallway. It was hard to enjoy anything else about the meal when you’re next to a coat closet and in a pathway to another room. We had the salmon eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros. The Benedict was good but the huevos lacked flavor and was sloppily presented. We were in and out in 30 minutes flat, so unfortunately will never come back here due to the other amazing restaurants that do a great brunch.
We were there celebrating my daughters engagement and our waitress was FANTASTIC. I just wish I remembered her name. Food was delicious and she did NOT rush us out.
Do not get dinner here. I regret choosing this restaurant as a Valentine’s Day date. I went a couple days after the holiday and expected to find good food in a cute space. While the restaurant portion of Buttery was cozy and comfortable, the rude waitress and lack luster food were extremely disappointing. I am very lactose intolerant and there was basically two main courses and one appetizer that I had to choose from. This place is not allergy/vegan friendly in the least. I ordered the hanger steak and it was cooked well, but it was nothing special and was overpriced for what it was. My friend’s shrimp fra diavolo was overcooked and again, basic. Why pay high prices for food you could easily make at home? I won’t be returning for the service either. The waitress barked my limited menu options at me and made it seem like asking if a dish has dairy in it is a massive inconvenience for her. I also heard her complaining loudly about customers when I went to the restroom. This place is plain awkward.
