My first experience at this particular location and they did not disappoint. All of the brunch items were delicious (we had a hard time deciding) and out server was friendly and knowledgeable. We loved everything!
We had reservations on a Saturday night at 7. We were seated immediately, the waiter was excellent, the meals were fabulous and served in a timely manner and a check was presented shortly after we finished. Mark, our server, took a group photo and we were out of there. It was a great dining experience - a perfect night out!
Shauna provided excellent service and was very attentive. I ordered the crab toast which was delicious and a perfect starter for two. I also got the brisket Benedict which came with the grits. Although the grits would have benefitted from the addition of a little cheese and chives, they were quite good. The Benedict was delicious! My husband is diabetic and has to be careful about what he orders. He got the salmon over quinoa and he loved it! Nicely seasoned, perfectly cooked salmon (good portion) over red quinoa with a chili honey and minted yogurt sauce which made the dish pop! He was very pleased and cleaned every last model off the plate.
Just a fabulous evening at South City. Meagan and Chris, our servers, were tremendous. They offered some great drink and food suggestions and most importantly did not rush us along as I find with so many restaurants. The food was amazing and the bartender mixed our drinks perfectly even going so far to custom make a martini for my friend.
Modified gluten free options were not really gluten free. The fried chicken said gluten free but the only way you could get it modified to gluten free was to have it grilled. No gluten free crackers for the meat and cheese board, really? A whole box costs 2.50 at Kroger. We chose this restaurant because my son has celiac disease and it seemed like there were a lot of options. But we were disappointed. The location was fun and trendy.
Food good. Service was slow. A bit loud.
One of our go to spots when treating guests or friends.
Very creative and authentic Southern fare. The short ribs, venison and fried chicken were among our party’s favorites. And we can’t forget the banana bread pudding! The restaurant features an eclectic wine list...and a fantastic choice of bourbons. Highly recommended.
The menu at SCK is filled with variety, as is the wine list. I’m a long-time Atlantan and have always enjoyed the cuisine at this restaurant. I like the ambience of both locations, but feel management could make improvements toward excellence as it relates to (operations), motivating and training staff and providing positive customer experiences. Feels to me the restaurant is a bit ‘rudderless’ and they could improve efficiencies in how the establishment is run. However, the kitchen (chefs) are on point.
The food was decent, although not memorable (and priced higher than we felt it was worth). The service was OK (one member had finished their drink and was interested in another, but no one to be seen for 20+ minutes).
We enjoyed our dining experience at South City Kitchen. Eclectic menu focused on southern tradition but no where close to the "meat and two" that many consider as representative of southern cuisine. Creative variations, not-so-typical offerings made this a special experience. For example, there are not many menus, southern or otherwise, that include venison as an entree. (It was prepared perfectly.) It was too noisy by my standards, as seems to be the case in many modern restaurants. I wasn't into that "vibe," but I sure did enjoy the food. Service was adequate, but a tall waiter who speaks relatively softly in a noisy room can be a challenge for many.
Corn muffins served at brunch were delicious! Service was slow, did not seem like the restaurant had enough people working.
Gabrielle was great!!!!
The food is superb and out waitperson was awesome. The restaurant location at Avalon is much better as it is less claustrophobic and less noisy. But the same great experience at both.
It was very disappointing that they did not have any fish entrees available on the menu for dinner (7pm reservation). There were shellfish options but my guest was allergic and did not eat meat. The waiter did not inform when we received the menus - not good.
I hesitated to go anywhere except the midtown location. I was very satisfied with the service, food, and atmosphere of the buckhead location. It has a modern feel and tables are a little more intimate. Loved it and had a great waiter!
Everything about this meal was fabulous. I only wish that I lived here so I could try the entire menu
Sat at the bar--yummy drinks, amazing entrees. Kind of pricey but worth it.
First after telling us we are ready to be seated we had stand and wait for about 15 mins before the host came back to sit us while she was out busting tables. That was not GOOD . The food was very bad. no flavor or too much. The vegetables were cold, collard greens were not seasoned and then the mash potatoes had too much butter in them. Everything tasted funny and when we asked the waiter why the food taste that way his response was. "it depends on who is in the kitchen, sometimes its seasoned and sometimes its not." well there should always be a consistency in food flavor regardless of who is in the kitchen. That was my first time and my last time eating there and would not recommend that place to anyone I know. Hence the reason why I never eat out but this was an invitation. For that location and style of restaurant i hope they do better . Service and staff was ok though
All the starters and entrees were good but the pork chop was exceptional. Cocktails were nice too. Server very knowledgable and friendly
Chopped chicken salad was bland. Service was slow and food service was slow. Loud. Staff was not nice
LOVE this restaurant!! I normally love the crab cake meal, but they changed it...it was ok but no where near as before.
Food was great
Service was great
My company was great
Great service and food. Will return!
Our server, Emmanuel, was attentive yet gave us some space. Champagne by the glass was flat so we bought an over-priced bottle and Emanuel kept the glass full. Would have been nice to have an actual champagne glass verses a wine glass. Food was OK. Midtown location seems to have a better prepared menu.
Great upscale southern food and great service as always. South City is our first place to dine when we come to Atlanta especially the one in Buckhead.
I was there for my Birthday 🎂 and the food was just fantastic 👍! It is one of my Son’s favorite restaurants as well, and he was with me with for my Birthday dinner.
Had dined at the midtown location but this was my first time at the Buckhead location. Food was excellent. Service was wonderful. Noise level was a bit annoying but we enjoyed our visit just the same.
The food was excellent and the waiter was on point !!
Had a great meal at South City Kitchen, had the mussels which were excellent then the redfish which was also lovely and husband had the lamb. Devoured a chocolate angel cake after. Our server was great, made excellent recommendations.
The food was delicious! The biscuits melt in your mouth and the fried chicken is tender and juicy.
The food was wonderful and well prepared. Logan, our server, was outstanding! A great place.
Loved the whole experience!!!
The food was delicious!!
Fried green tomatoes a must try!
Food was fantastic. Our server made a few mistakes, but was very apologetic and fixed them all quickly. Overall the restaurant was great.
Our experience did not match that of either of the other two locations. There seemed to be a shortage of wait staff. Our entree arrived before the appetizer plates had been cleared. I was left holding plates and utensils so that the waitress could put down our meal. The evening was not what I expected and I doubt very much if I will return.
Good atmosphere to enjoy a cocktail, dinner and bottle of wine with friends/family. Great for a group - the food is good. Well seasoned, courses spaced appropriately. Server was excellent - but could use a little training on the wine menu.
Food was slightly salty and cold. The bench seating outside had a horrible odor. The roof kept dripping on us. I personally feel like no one should be seated on the patio until the roof has been upgraded.
As a vegetarian, there wasn't a lot of options on the lunch menu. Prefer to go foe dinner.
