We are from out-of-town (Chicago)!!
Great service, very tasty food. We loved it!!!
always a treat for people from out of town who need a "fix" of southern food before they leave the city
Excellent food and service.
Wanted to try some Southern cooking for the first time, and our concierge recommended South City.
We sat t the bar as even on a Wednesday the place was fully booked. Lucky for us as our server and bartender, Neeki, ( I hope I spelt that right), was a gem
Knowledgeable friendly and professional[ she guided us through the extensive menu.
Bourbon selection was great, (they have Pappy). And the food? Divine.
We returned on the following Sunday for brunch on the strength of our first visit.
Cannot recomend highly enough.
We went for brunch, and it was an outstanding experience.
Jody was an excellent server!! Food was great!! Thank you!!
This was my third visit and unlike my previous experiences, this one was disappointing. Our waiter accidentally spilled preserve on our table and tried to be funny by blaming my friend at the table. My dish was served lukewarm, but I didn't want to send it back after waiting so long. The waiter came by to check on us and accidentally fumbled a glass of water that was sitting on the table by inadvertently sticking his hand in the glass. He went to replace it but it looked like he only topped off the same glass and the glass was dirty with food on the outside of it when returned to our table.
The food is excellent!! Where do I start...the Fried Green Tomatoes...the meat loaf was Ahmazing!!! Excellent service!!!
Two of our three dishes arrived cold and had to be returned.
Happy I visited the Buckhead location. I went for lunch and it was a great experience. The food was excellent.
INNOVATIVE SOUTHERN CUISINE IN A FANTASTIC SETTING
Brunch with Mom. Easy valet parking and an authentic nouvelle southern menu makes this a great place on a cool overcast Sunday afternoon. Love all The Fifth Group restaurants, but the South City concept is unparalleled.
The atmosphere and food was wonderful!
Our visit was a real pleasure from beginning to end. Even the valet guys were extra friendly and very efficient. Once inside, the
young ladies who greeted us,especially the
one from the Philippines, were just delightful! It just got better and better - your
wait staff is among the most professional
I have ever seen. My group had the fried chicken as well as the rainbow trout. Two dishes that are just marvelous, not to mention
the bread basket for openers. Even the desserts were extraordinary. You can be sure we will return as soon as possible. Thank you.
Awesome. Great service
Great menu, food, and ambiance! Perfect Saturday Brunch.
Great ambiance. My order was wrong. Food was cold and the waiter although very cute was super slow. Probably won't return.
I am new to Atlanta and tried this restaurant based on internet reviews. Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the food. The server sold us on the friend chicken, which all 5 of us ordered based on his recommendation. It came with mashed red potatoes and greens. The potatoes were really good, the greens were super bland and the fried chicken was just ok. I also ordered an additional side of andouille dirty rice. As a Louisiana native I was skeptical but figured what the hell. What the hell is exactly what I said when I got that dish. Idk who came up with that concept or if they actually know what "real" dirty rice taste like but 3 of us ordered it and all 3 of us sent it back. It was awful to say the least. 2 of the guys shared the smothered liver dish which they really liked, the biscuits and cornbread were also decent, but you don't really come out for biscuits and cornbread. The waitstaff was extremely attentive and provided great service, unfortunately I can't say the same about the food:(
I don't know how to spell RaSan...but he was a fantastic server...highly competent and entertaining! And, the drink special was a quite tasty version of an Old Fashion.
It was a good experience as always.
We went and they had a special menu for easter. We came right after the rush. The service was great and food was excellent. I love this location!
Great food as always and the staff is ready to be of service !
Great Easter brunch. Will definitely come back.
Very disappointing!! The only thing we had that was exceptional was the bread service. I ordered Monk fish and it was over cooked and tasted charred. The sunchoke mash was awful. My husband ordered pork chop and it was over cooked and burnt tasting. The cook was suppose to be medium rare. Our son ordered the fried chicken and it was dry. Not a good experience for $150 meal. Will not be back.
The fried chicken is so good. Everything else ordered at our table was cooked incorrectly, and flavors were good but not great. Cool atmosphere!
Has most of the original South City Kitchen location’s main menu items such as fried chicken but some novel things too. I got hanger steak ordered medium rare but it came out almost raw, with no excuse because the chef sliced it before serving. My fault for not sending it back. Other pretty good. Biscuits great.
Amazing lunch - salmon with kale and quinoa, the drizzle of honey made it truly perfect!
We have eaten here a number of times. Food is good, but, quite frankly, the menu is pretty limited and sometimes gets a bit off the reservation. This night they were off their game. The sides we ordered were late to the table -- we had to remind the servers and we were well into our meal by the time they arrived. And the noise level made conversation difficult. Not up to their usual level.
The food was great, as was the wine selection; the service, however, is what set the experience apart the night we dined there. Our server , Rahsaan, was exceptional. There when we needed him, fast with very good recommendations, funny and engaging.
First time, few hiccups but went well overall. Second time major hiccups, two of my guest stomachs were not fortunate, not sure what happened. I had such high hopes, oh well, can't win them all.
Great service by Jose, who knew the dishes very well. One dish came out not as ordered, but Jose quickly corrected it.
Fantastic birthday celebration lunch! The food & service were outstanding!
Our waiter Rayshaun was above and beyond with service. And extremely patient with our menu questions and switch arounds!! We wondered how lovely life would be if we had him to waiter for us everywhere! Since we can’t have that, we’ll certainly be back to dine with him at South City Kitchen!
Simply awesome food and impeccable service. Highly recomend. 👍
Love love love this place! So many great menu items and awesome atmosphere
We (6 ladies) were seated at the time of our reservation, only had to wait about 5 minutes; initial service was good. However, we ordered dessert since it was a birthday celebration and we received our entree's much faster than we did (getting already prepared food) dessert. I stopped the manager and he checked into the wait - and comp'd the desserts (3) - very nice at the cost of $9 each. Most noted, we did NOT like the fact that the tip was already included in the total (and then it asked you if you wanted to add more to the tip). I would go back and will likely make future reservations.
Our dinner was great. The food was excellent. We dined there with our adult son who had moved to Atlanta for work. It was our last meal together before we left town after our visit. The only problem was our server. She started out nice but then seemed to want us out of there ASAP for no reason. The restaurant was not full and not overly busy yet she wanted to hurry us along. At one point, I stood up to let my younger son out of the booth to use the restroom and that's when she swooped in and wanted to know if I wanted the meal I was still working on to be packed up. What?? so confusing. This restaurant needs to allow the patrons who are paying a lot for the food to enjoy their experience without being rushed out.
GREAT for allergies! The staff were knowledgeable, appropriately stressed, and VERY kind about my (multiple) allergy constraints. Bless our waiter, he had to walk from the kitchen to our table four or five times to ask questions of the chef about frying mediums and cross contaminations. The fryer is in soybean oil, and their fried food isn't gluten free (and they know that), but since my wheat allergy is mild, I got them to do the fried chicken in rice flour, and it was GREAT. It was the first time they'd done it, but they were totally happy to experiment!
Had the beet salad, half the beets were very hard. The Brussels sprouts were also very under cooked and hard. The fried chicken was very good.
Fabulous food, superb service (Rausaan was amazing) and the staff was so friendly! I love this restaurant! It’s one of the best in the city
Delicious and enjoyable meal with a business colleague.
