Great place to go for a business meeting. Nice natural light, good food and service. You can come after work for drinks and it's a great meet up place.
Service was excellent, food was very good. Unfortunately, we shared the restaurant with a corporate event that was extremely loud. I'd like to come back when it's a lot quieter!
Service was great! Food came out fast and it was delicious. The noise level was really loud, other than that, everything was great.
It was a really good experience. The cheese curds were amazing, but my burger wasn’t very tasty, it was slightly dry. For the price, location, ambiance, and view it was very nice!
Great summer location next to the river in the loop. Good food and good Ambiance
Went to meet an old colleague for dinner on a Thursday evening. There were three business groups there which made the place loud and crowded but we were seated at the quieter end so we could hear each other without raising our voices. We both had a blackened salmon salad and red wine and both were excellent. The service was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I'll be back.
Waited 20+ minutes to even order, then waited over 20 min again for food. A manager came out to tell us our food would be out shortly given they knew it was taking a long time.
South Branch is all around mediocre. It has underwhelming food for a high price tag ($11 for guacamole that was all mixed in with mayo and cream...). The location is great--right downtown--but that means it's loud and crowded with business happy hours and work events.
Probably good for a business event, but I would never recommend it for personal dining.
Love the salmon salad there, and the server was very helpful in assisting us in our choices. It gets pretty crowded around lunch time and noisy, but the food is really above average and in summer it is a fun outdoor bar scene as well.
Went for a lunch with a vendor. Food was good and noise level was low enough to hear each other but not so quite and close to others that it felt everyone was listening to what we said
Lively venue, but not so loud that you have to shout to have a conversation. Great beer menu, it would be nice if they had more options on tap, but I was glad to see a menu that wasn't 90% full of IPAs. A good range of food options, but really, you come here for the beer, views, and location. Great place for an after-work dinner gathering.
South Branch is a great choice for lunch, dates, happy hour, or events- it can play to many different crowds. The food is solid and the atmosphere is lively. The outdoor section on the water is tough to beat. I've had nothing but good visits.
Perfect —within walking distance of theatre for pre play drinks & appetizers.
Had to wait for about 10 minutes for our w but other than that all was good.
Great, interesting menu options. Great service. Beautiful river view. A cozy retreat in this neighborhood that doesn't offer a lot of dining options.
I had two appetizers, the humus tray and chips. Service was prompt, however the waiter was not very personable. Gabrielle the manager was very friendly and I enjoyed my conversation with her. I'd come back.
Good food and great location!
Fantastic food. Great service
Steak salad was very good, the right amount of dressing, enjoyed the peppercorn crusted steak.
This is a great spot for a quick bite to eat, business or personal.
We just had salads, but they were very good! Service was speedy which was appreciated because we were trying to make a show. The space was large and nicely decorated.
Great salad selection.... It was a day after the holiday so it was not as busy as usual which was nice...
Have been there several times for dinner and lunch. However, the food was only "fair" the other day but the meal started with the hostess being extraordinarily rude. Disappointing.
Excellent food and ambiance. Salmon was outstanding. Good beer selection
Fabulous service and food. We were there for our anniversary and everyone greeted us with a very friendy greeting. The waiter took our picture and gave it to us in a personalized folder. Our menu was headlined with "Happy Anniversary" The food was amazing and the complimentary dessert incredible. We were able to leave our car with the valet after dinner and picked it up after the show. Lovely experience. Thanks Morton's and staff ❤
Pretty good place for a business lunch. Nice view of the river. Our tomato basil soup lacked basil flavor and was a little rich. My turkey burger, while good, was constructed in such a way that it constantly fell apart. So knife and fork were employed. Overall, not bad and I will probably return.
This was my first time at South Branch. I had reservations for 2 for a business lunch. I have never been so rushed at a restaurant! From the time I arrived to the time I left, we were asked about 12 times if everything was OK, were we ready to sign the bill, did we have any questions, can we get something else for you, etc. We weren't even offered dessert. There was no line at the door so there was no reason for us to be rushed out of the restaurant. By the time I WAS ready to sign the check, I was thoroughly offended. I ordered the shrimp salad special and requested more romaine lettuce ; I didn't complain while I was there since I was already embarrassed; the restaurant was my choice.
Food was delicious waiter very attentive.
Great spot for business lunch. Service was good and wait was minimal even after my reservation window expired. The view of the river nice
Nice restaurant for dinner, it wasn't too crowded (but it was a Monday night). Service was good, as was the food.
The kale salad nicoise is always a winner, fresh ingredients, not too heavily dressed with haricot vert and olives.....simply delicious!
Excellent lunch spot. Our waitress was great and accomodated our late arrival 3rd person promptly.
I ordered the Havana sandwich and it was a little dry. More of an after work place for a drink.
Hostes was brusque - informing us multiple times that we were a “no show” bc we were 15 mins late for a 4:15 res. The place wasn’t full and she could have been more gracious/accommodating. Drinks were expensive - and my old fashioned was week. A convenient spot to meet up in the way to the train so I’m sure they’ll be around
Thje food here is great. Service was wonderful. It was my first time dining here and they did not dissapoint. I took a client for a business lunch and we were able to talk without backgroung noise getting in the way. It also has a nice airy atmosphere with tall windows yet still cozy.
Great food, service and close to work. Glad we tried something new, will be back for certain!
Great options whether you are an adventurous foodie or looking for some comfort food (try the short ribs!!) Drinks are a little pricey, but well worth it. People watching at the bar window is also fabulous.
My daughter and I went here after an afternoon opera performance. It was definitely a bad choice. It was so loud we could barely converse. Our waiter showed up twice - to take our order and give us our check - otherwise bus staff did the work. No bread? Not sure if that is the restaurant policy or just was forgotten. Food was OK. My daughter's fish was bland, with very little caper sauce. My pasta was interesting - I liked the goat cheese touch. The coffee was a very nice dark roast. No dessert - we couldn't wait to get out of there it was so loud.
Great Spot for Business Occasions
