Location is a little weird off Atlantic and Dixie, but the food and cocktails were amazing. We did the salmon and a burger with the fried green tomatoes and everything was excellent. They have a beautiful outdoor area. Looks like it would be a cool brunch spot as well since the had corn hole and other games set up.

The food was good and my leechee martini was delicious, but my favorite part was probably the entertainment, the guy performing was great. I'll definitely go back.

My wife & I had reservations but opted to sit at the bar instead. Service was excellent and so was the food, though I felt the gumbo was overpriced at $13 for a very small bowl. I had the double bone-in pork chop with sweet potato mash and a mixture of collard greens & red beans. It was great. And my wife's pimiento cheeseburger with Cajun fries was also great. Very nice place & vibe. Give them a try!

Extremely disappointing to be charged $2.00 for ice and to have a 20% tip added to our total without a word being said. Sneaky!! Goodbye South.

Going out for my son’s birthday for a nice dinner. Good menu fried green tomatoes, very good deviled eggs, good entrées, beef rib, and grits. Very good.. shrimp and grits. OK …fried chicken not so good. Hamburger average desserts poor. Banana pudding tasted like fluff, marshmallow, and apple cobbler was bland with no flavor. very nice place. Great service . but they need to pick up the food quality a little bit .They have a lot of potential we will be back to try it again

This is a gem … decor is tasteful with green, gold and wood. There is indoor and outdoor seating with a bar that crosses from indoor to outdoor. We sat on the patio which is built around a great tree! The weather is perfect this time of year. We had the boudin balls, pimento cheese, and gumbo appetizers. Gumbo was good, pimento cheese dip was ok, the boudin balls though were excellent! For dinner we had the short rib and grits with a side of truffle fries … delicious! I’m going back to try the brunch!

It was our friend’s second visit and our first. For us the music was a little loud, but not completely intrusive, better outside. The Wait staff was very pleasant and fortunately covered for each other. Unfortunately the kitchen apparently wasn’t prepared for a vegetable plate to be ordered. But, the Salmon, the pimento burger and grits, the Mahi and sweet potato fries as well as the biscuits and fish dip were all great! We will be back!

We've been here three times and each has been great! Last night was our first time sitting outside on the beautiful patio. It was magical. We were right near the musician (who was excellent) but we were still able to carry on a conversation. The service was top notch, as usual. The Boudin Balls are a must-have whenever we go. I enjoyed my That's My Jam burger and the sweet potato casserole was to die for! Hubby had the shrimp and grits which have been recommended by several servers. The grits were not his favorite, but he still enjoyed his meal. The brownie dessert they brought for my husbands bday was terrific...dense and chocolatey with pecans with ice cream on top.

After reading many 4+ star reviews online we tried South for a special occasion. We liked the ambience of this indoor/outdoor space. Staff were friendly and service was good. On this Saturday night at 6:30 the place was about half full. By the time we left it was 1/4 full. Food was just ok. Ribs had nice taste but were dry. Shrimp and grits tasty but grits were bland. 3 large shrimp were fantastic! Fried chicken way too salty. Jambalaya bland. Drinks were creative and good. Would go again but will stick to burger or salads next time. Crowd was a mix of seniors, families with kids and a sprinkling of hipsters. Try it. You may like it.

We were there for their first brunch. Love the place...not so much the neighborhood? Great entertainment, too. Food was delicious and drinks were very good. Indoor beautiful bar and an outside cool bar "shack". Valet parking is available ($6 before tip). Prices are high. $10.00 for what looked like a half cup of grits? Service wes excellent. Out door seating under a giant tree was our choice. Monte Cristo was deep-fried and fabulous. Equally impressive were the corn pancakes with blueberries. Sticky buns were out of this world. Bring some cash because you'll want to tip the entertainment!

This was our second time here within 2 weeks. First the service was amazing, knowledgeable and friendly… The food was outstanding….This is just want Pompano needed a restaurant that has great atmosphere, great food and the music.. Third time having Dinner at South. The service is friendly and professional with management staff hands-on. Great variety on the menu and has always been good. The atmosphere is very pleasant whether dining inside or outside under the beautiful tree.

So glad we found this gem! The food was great. Our server made some recommendations which were spot on. We had the boudin balls, fired chicken sandwich and the Georgia salad with fried chicken add on. Yum! The place was wonderfully decorated and had southern charm.

First, the menu is very limited. but, since we had heard so much about the cost of the half chicken, we just had to try it to see if it was made of gold. Not! Two small thighs and two wings with little meat?! $29? CRAZY The sweet potato casserole was dry and tasteless once you got under the brown sugar topping. The salads were okay and not extremely expensive....but just okay. We MAY give SOUTH another try but will stick with the sandwiches. The main entries are overpriced. Definitely not worth the 30-minute drive when we have so many reasonable and delicious choices in Palm Beach County.

This was our first time visiting South, bar and kitchen and personally I thought the food was fantastic and the drinks were great. However, the service was pretty slow and I understand they recently opened so I’m sure that will get better with time, but our appetizers came out before our first order of drinks. I would still go back because the vibe was great , the servers were so nice and again the food was delish!!

First time at South Bar & Kitchen and it won't be the last. When we arrived the inside dining area buzzed with activity; we chose to be seated outside since there were only high top tables available at that time. We were concerned it might be noisy since there was a live performer but we were very comfortable and it was easy to have a conversation at our table. The server was friendly and very efficient providing great service. The food was fresh and tasty (be warned, the spicy chicken sandwich is good but SPICY). Drinks were good but a little pricey. We will definitely return.

Although we enjoyed our meal at South Bar and Kitchen.....the operative word is BAR. The lively bar scene was not what we expected. The music was intrusively loud.....I mean LOUD. The food was very good and our waitperson was excellent. We will return and hope the music is softer.
