   Our server Kayla was amazing. She was super friendly, energetic and attentive. Everyone was professional and friendly. The manager visited our table to assure that service was meeting our expectations. The food was delicious and prepared with flavor-rich ingredients. The cocktails were well-balanced and delightful. The speed of service was perfect. All food was served in a pleasing and appetizing order. I'd recommend South & Central to my friends and family visiting Charlottesville, VA, and I'd definitely patronize them again.

   I made a reservation here for my brother's college graduation this past weekend. The ambiance was neat and very moderate. The food and drinks were delish - I ordered the skirt steak with a side of asparagus + fries. The sides are big enough to share with 2-3 people. Service was also excellent the host immediately noticed we had a cake for the occasion and politely asked to keep it in the fridge for us. Our server was very attentive and quick as well. I would def come back again if I were ever in the area.

   Easily the best restaurant in C’ville. Food is outstanding, and it’s so fun watching the kitchen work from Chef’s table. Cocktails are to die for. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

    I ordered a steak to be cooked Medium, it came medium well to well done. I returned the steak back to the kitchen and the chef’s ego was stroked. He refused to cook me another steak. This was the worst Mothers day ever.

    Excellent Mothers Day! Very attentive and sweet and sincere waitstaff and host. We had a extra blessing of an outdoor table made up for us in the shade with no big fuss made. We felt very welcomed and appreciated for our business, which is refreshing! Delicious avocado salad and berry french toast!! Wow!

    Hosted a business dinner there. Fun restaurant in the dairy building, which affords you easy parking. Place is large so it’s loud but the tables are far apart so you have privacy. Steak quality is excellent, service was good and prices were normal for Metropolitan areas.

    We sat at the chef's counter and it added a lot of fun. The grilled octopus was so tender and tasty, as were the empanadas. We split a hamberguesa which was wonderful and perfectly cooked. Great wine list. Service was excellent.

    Unfortunately, the food was only average. I ordered the tenderloin stir fry and the meat was over-cooked (well done) and dry. My friend ordered the strip steak medium rare but came out rare and cool to the touch (inside and out). For dessert we ordered the chocolate tres leches cake and it was dry and flavorless. Drinks were good and we did have a lovely server.

    We attended an Argentine -Italian four course dinner with wine pairings. It was fabulous. The cook is exceptionally talented and creative. Loved every bite and the wine choices were fabulous. It is fun place to go with friends or a date.

    We have eaten at South and Central multiple times for dinner and have always been big fans. The food has always been excellent and the service top notch. This was our first trip for brunch. We were disappointed with the menu selections, the portion sizes relative to price, and the slow service. We were one of the first groups seated and they already were out of some items on the menu. The brunch items that were offered were nothing to write home about and the stuffed biscuit was a disappointment. Hopefully S&C will be able to raise the brunch experience to the same level as the dinner experience.

    Provolenta was delicious as was the avocado salad. Drinks were also very good. The problem came with the steaks. My son said the skirt steak was very good. Mine and my husband’s strip steaks were not very good. They were quite chewy and had a lot of gristle. The quality was just not good. Wait staff started off good but then kind of forgot us for a while. We were overcharged for our margaritas but then the tab was corrected. We would go back - just not for steaks.

    Excellent food and service. Waitress was very good. We did get overcharged for the oysters, but that was just a glitch and was easily corrected. We’ve been there 3 or 4 times now and have not been disappointed a single time. Highly recommend!
