At Sotto, Executive Chef Steve Samson and Chef de Cuisine Craig Towe deliver an honest, market-driven menu of regionally-inspired Southern Italian dishes, including fresh housemade pastas and Neapolitan pizza cooked in an artisan wood burning oven. This wood burning oven was built onsite by Neapolitan craftsmen with traditional techniques that have been passed on from generation to generation and is the first of its kind in the Los Angeles area.



Our food is complemented by a fresh, seasonally relevant cocktail program with a strong background in the classics and the utilization of lesser known Italian liqueurs. We also offer an eclectic list of boutique wines from Southern Italy.

After several years and lots of hype, Beverly Hills' Sotto, one of LA’s great Italian restaurants is still warranting the praise.

Ratings 8.0-8.5:The best way to think about restaurants in the low to mid 8′s is that these are the places you would absolutely go back to, anytime. These restaurants are ones that you want to bring a friend to, just so they can also experience the duck carnitas, or burger, or whatever dish the place is known for.

Service was good but food came out very late and out of order. However food was delicious, ambience had energy, waitstaff was very nice. A favorite restaurant with a neighbourhood vibe.

Our experience at Sotto was great. Wonderful service, our waiter was very informative about the great options on the menu, the food was delicious, and they have a great cocktail and wine menu. The ambiance can be a little loud, but we will not hesitate to go back again.

Our waitress was so on target . She was helpful, friendly, timely and never rushing us. Her recommendations were perfect and her attention to detail (given my good allergy) was impeccable. All of that and the food was fresh, fabulous and fun!

Delicious pizza with excellent cheese, zesty sauce and a thin crust that manages to have a toothsome texture without being undercooked. The ribeye came with perfect roasted potatoes but the steak had some similarity of taste to a roast and was a bit disappointing. In fairness, I had the feeling that the ribeye may have been the selection that was not their strongpoint. The gelato was dense, creamy and excellent. The waiter was extremely pleasant.

Really enjoy Sotto. Food is just delicious and I had the best vodka - a local brew - which was also just great. Very good service. All around an enjoyable meal. We actually had to order the Spaghetti twice - it was that good! Really enjoyed the evening.

the food especially the pizza is consistently great but it was super slow this time. A normal meal took 2 hours which is about double our average time there.

Some of the best pizzas I've had in LA - also great produce, whether in salads, sides or entrees. It can be very loud though so not great for intimate conversations. Have had really good service and the bar is fun - and you can eat there as well.

I've been coming here for years. It's always consistently good! Service is great.
Everyone I bring here loves it!

We had the Olives, Chickpea Panelle (which is sooo good! I crave it and have been tempted to replicate this at home!), Charred Brussel Sprouts (which were a bit spicy), the BREAD with lardo, the grilled pork meatballs were so delicious, the Fioratta Pizza which was sweet and savory. Everything was delicious as usual. We finished the night with the Buttermilk Zeppole (which is not your traditional zeppole but it has more of a cake consistency) which was yummy with chocolate sauce and powered sugar, and the Hazelnut Pana Cotta so decadent!.
Please bring back the blistered gem salad! It's amazing!

Another great dinner at Sotto. I had mentioned that we were going for a date night and when we arrived they had a really cute set up for us at a great table in the center of the room where we could check out the awesome wine room display. Great wine recommendations, better pizza and pasta. I love this place and will definitely be coming back again and again.

SOTTO is a perennial LA hangout. Fantastic pizzas, pasta, vegetables and meat. Interesting and creative wine list. Good cocktails. Has the F2T thing, the authentic artisan Italian thing and kind of a Euro feel in a good way. Solid or even better than solid. Go hungry, eat the pizza and relax.

Pizza crust was soggy and disappointing. If I leave pizza on the plate and refuse to take the leftovers home, has to be pretty bad. Service was pretty poor as well. If you want real pizza, go to Mozza!

Went to celebrate a big birthday for mom after having been for our anniversary. It was another delicious meal but do wish they had a larger selection of more reasonably priced wines. Service was excellent and tailored to our needs. Ambience is lovely (dark, cozy, and almost sultry but not pretentious). We love the place and expect to be long time patrons.

Risotto undercooked, fish slightly over cooked, bathroom dirty, glassware was dirty, it was a prix fix menu but we were given a bill for one of the items that was not clear it was extra. Overall food good but disappointed with the level of care.

both the paccheri with spicy pork ragu, rapini, and fennel and blistered snap peas with mint and ricotta were unusual and exceptional. the margherita pizza with burrata was terrific, the crust was unexpected (kind of spongy) yet quite tasty. the bistecca aged ribeye was also very, very good. even the homemade bread with anchovy butter was we excellent. got the buttermilk zeppole (like beignets) for dessert and they were also great.
