Another great omakase service!
We got the Omakase!!! Absolutely delicious but we were still hungry after so we had to order more food.
Hadn’t been to Austin in a while. Great to find this place. Went in for a light lunch. Artfully prepared nigiri. Delicious.
Great Sushi place!! Food was excellent though on the expensive side, well worth it. Service was top notch.
We went for lunch. Food and service were excellent.
Food was good but there are better places in Austin. Outside seating area was also not that great or special.
Place was worth trying out but for the value, rather go somewhere else.
The staff at Soto are friendly and courteous. They strive to deliver the best service with a smile. The sushi chef's are original and always cooking up something fun. Best fish in town!
Great food but nigiri Pieces are waaay too small
Sushi was fresh and tasty, but the portions were extremely tiny and after spending $200 for 3 people, we were left pretty unsatisfied. I’ve been to many sushi restaurants before, and I would say this wasn’t worth the money.
The whole experience was first class. From the time entered the building, everyone was so inviting, friendly, and provided nothing but the best service. The food and presentation was outstanding. Soto is by far my favorite place in Austin.
Delicious dinner and drinks. Appreciate how Soto is making use of their space to accommodate as many diners as possible safely. Even though it poured just as we arrived, our outdoor table was precisely tucked under that overhang such that as Mother Nature let up on the rain, we enjoyed a lovely dinner staying dry. Would appreciate un-inviting the flies though 😊
Best sushi in Austin. Periodt.
Lobster was the best!!!
The food was amazing. Very slow service. They realized that and brought out one complimentary dish to make up for it.
Fresh sushi and good sake. Blah, blah blah...is that 50 characters...
Cool place would definitely go back.
While the food was great, service was really upsetting. I had called ahead to preorder champagne and dessert for my fiancé’s birthday - not only was that not honored, the waitress was dismissive and didn’t seem to care that we were celebrating a birthday. She said she would look into the pre-order, but after not coming back with any kind of response, I told her to forget it. Rest of the dinner service was fine, until dinner when when asked for ice cream on the side of a dessert, she said “if you’re into ice cream, there’s a good place across the street.” Totally unprofessional for a place as high-end as Soto.
Happy to change my review if management were to contact me to rectify the issue, but until then, I do not recommend this restaurant.
The host was so rude; we had an outdoor reservation and it was pouring rain but they could not accommodate us inside. Even when seated outside, we asked for a table not in the rain and they said they would have to ask to switch to the EXACT same unoccupied table. Not great customer service but decent food. Valet parking was convenient.
Service was as good. Ambiance was sort of noisy and cold without much point of view. Food was overall fairly salty and one note, so fishes etc were overpowered. For the price, I would rather spend a few bucks more and go to Uchi which has far more ambiance, service points, and honestly, the highest sticking point is- the food is much better balanced and flavorful. Soto was fair to fair plus in my opinion and I will probably not go back. Just to be as honest as I can be.
This restaurant deserves 10 stars! The food was incredible and our server Catherine was an absolute delight. She was so knowledgable in the menu and walked us through suggested items and paced the meal perfectly. Out of town visitors from Miami were thoroughly impressed. This is a totally different experience from the Soto in Cedar Park and I literally loved every minute of it. Best sake I’ve tried in my life.
Excellent service, seated us inside despite our booking outside with inclement weather. Phenomenal food.
This anniversary dinner was marred by the complete and utter disrespect for disabled guests. The valet parks fancy cars of able bodied guests right in front of the restaurant forcing disabled guests to park in a garage and walk to the restaurant. I will never come back.
The Soto 2.0 was the bomb! Our servers was very patient explaining and clarifying any unknown items on the menu for my partner unfamiliar with a raw fish menu. He was happy with the selection that give him a little bit of every basic sample form of Japanese sushi or roll. It would be a five if the "manager" on his first day were off his phone and be more attentive to the customers waiting in line at the hosting booth. He awkwardly fumbled through the different menu sheets. We went for for lunch, and sat outdoors. Traffic was a bit of nuisance, but we figured that it would be a more inviting ambient at night when there are more tables set during the evening hours. I didn't quite understand why the servers were determine to give us an battery operating candle centerpiece in the middle of the day. We loved our food. We loved our server. We will definitely come back again for dinner someday. Finally a great place for sushi at a reasonable price.
The food has taken forever the past two times we have gone to Soto. We wouldn’t even mind, if the food came out perfect. The tempura for spicy toro gunkan (one of our favs) has been chewy instead of light and crispy, and overall, there seems to be a slight decline in the food. New management or chef maybe?
This was our first time dining at Soto and it was truly an amazing experience. All the dishes exceeded our expectations and Tammy did a great job making sure we had everything we needed. We have already booked another reservation to come back!
It was our anniversary. The service was really slow. Seemed like the waitstaff was overwhelmed and needed more help to better serve their customers.
Enjoyed sitting at the counter and conversing with the chefs. Great recommendations from them. Waitress was average for a high price place. She seemed knowledgeable but was a bit overwhelmed and delivered the check without any thank you or words.
One of the BEST meals. What service. Will be back again and again when in town.
Food was amazing! Try the Omasake.
Food was amazing! Katherine was the most knowledgeable, pleasant and gracious server we’ve ever had anywhere.
We love Soto. We ask for vegetarian rolls that the chef chooses and we are rarely disappointed. The saki is good, the cocktails are better every time and the creativity of the chefs to make new combinations astounds us.
Food was fresh and delicious. Sushi and uni portions were kind of small compared to other high end sushi but they were all very tasty.
Amazing as always!
The food was outstanding and the staff took such good care of us. This restaurant is one of my favorites. Love love love.
Love the food and service! Will definitely be coming back
Lovely dinner! Enjoyed a few specials and a few rolls. Fantastic service
Soto never disappoints! Food was amazing with a lot of variety. Service was great and everyone was friendly.
The 5:30 seating began with quiet to moderate noise level, then rose to energetic as the night progressed. Our server suggested a few additional items and a riesling which both of us normally avoid due to sweetness. Every recommendation hit the right spot. Every bite was a delight.
It was a nice evening as we venture out in the near post covid world. I will continue to dine here earlier to avoid a more crowded environment. There are cafe tables outdoors weather permitting.
Good quality food, but the portions are to small even compare with others restaurants of the same kind.
Great Food and great service and the price for this type of quality fish were outstanding.
