The food isn’t bad, but $9 for a single piece of basic nigiri sushi is absurd in Austin. Uchi
My favorite place for Sushi in Austin!! I absolutely love this restaurant!! Would and do recommend it to all my friends!
A bit pricy, have had better
Soto has the best quality of sushi in Austin! Chef Andy has a very friendly personality and a huge passion to deliver only the best!! Every dish is nicely presented and worthy of a photo to share!
Some of the best Sushi I have ever eaten. Highest recommendation!
This was probably the worst sushi we have ever had. Everything tasted fishy and not fresh. We had a reservation for 7pm and waiting 30 min before they even sat us. Overall not a good experience. Definitely won’t be going back.
The food was amazing!! We had several amazing dishes but the Happy Hour Tuna with Truffles and Truffle Risotto really stood out. The wagu steak on the hot stones was pretty amazing too
They have delicious sushi and I LOVE the uni pasta so very much!
We really love this place. The staff are excellent and the food is always incredible.
We were celebrating our 20th anniversary! Always enjoy dining at Soto South! You guys simply the best 👌🏻🔝
I love Soto, some of the best sushi in the city. I would recommend to anyone! And our waitress was awesome and super knowledgable of the menu.
Arrived early for 830 reservation - flippant hostess disappeared and left us waiting for 15 minutes. Table wasn’t ready, no sympathy. Just standing there waiting to sit down for a birthday dinner. Really ruined a special evening.
Great experience.. We have been there twice and loved it both times!
Food and service was phenomenal! Will definitely return next time we are in Austin!
The course meal was amazing. The staff was still friendly even though we came a little later and the place was closing.
Food and server were incredible
Chef Andy continues to raise the options at Soto. We love the place
Server Natasha was the best! Very attentive and efficient!
Food was okay. Pretty overpriced for what it is. Way better value and quality at Kome. Ambiance and service was sub par especially for the prices.
Lunch date with wife. Great moment was spent together with Chef Andy freshly made creation. That’s the amazing things about sitting at the sushi bar where you can tell the chefs what u like and don’t and let their imagination and skills to craft a memorizing meal for you and your loves one. It’s truly an amazing place for delicious, fresh and unpretentious sushi and sashimi. Highly recommend for sushi lover.
Was ok and we were hungry but for $127 mmmm not worth it
Perfection. It is hard to beat this amazing restaurant
I had again a bad experience, I thought it was a bad moment last time I went; but I realized it is a thing. The food has not been consistent, and I mean in regards to taste, looks, freshness. I do not want to come back anytime soon. There is always something happening. Last time the food and a water condensation issue with the AC where the water was dripping on us all dinner.
Food was very good, but portions small and overpriced .
Food not worth the high price. Not a sushi snob but there did not seem to be any noticeable flavor. Had to wait at last 40 min per item ordered and server up sold to the point of brining our more than we ordered and charging us for it. Went to Lucky robot the next day just to get some good sushi.
If you want an upscale sushi experience, seems like Uchi is truly the only way.
Their uni roll is PHENOMENAL. Also their potato chip nigiri, scallop nigiri, white tiger roll & toro truffle roll yummmm
Our favorite Japanese in Austin
There was water condensation from the AC and the water was falling on us all dinner.
Soto was good, not great. The nigiri quality was just ok. The sushi tacos, truffle edamame and the karage were great! The service was GREAT! I would recommend those items for a Happy Hour, but not likely my favorite sushi dinner spot.
This was the BEST sushi restaurant I have ever dined at. The menu was outstanding, especially all of the selections that included my favorite ingredient: truffles. I was so impressed and plan to return!
We are practically kicking ourselves over the fact that it took us this long to make it to Soto because it is in our neighborhood, and we pass it daily. We had a fantastic meal, with informative and gracious service provided by Max. He had just the right touch of helpful guidance and passionate knowledge about the food. Looking forward to returning, soon.
Flavors were amazing! Out of the ordinary.
Great experience at Soto. Super great service from our server and will recommend to family and friends.
My Fiancé 2 year stroke survivor , so grateful..... thx for all the attention great food and great service.....
Amazing food and hospitality!
Our second time here and the food and service was great! Favor of the night is the uni pasta. We will definitely be coming back.
Amazing like always
Had a great time.
What can I say? My husband and I have been here twice in the few months we have lived in Austin--once for lunch and once for his birthday dinner--and each time have had a near perfect experience. The food is innovative, delicious, and beautifully presented, and the service is friendly, beyond knowledgable, and always attentive. This place is not inexpensive, but for the impeccable quality of food they are serving and the beautifully attentive staff and management, it shouldn't be. Every penny is well spent here. Pro tip: if you are feeling more budget conscious, check out their lovely happy hour which runs from 5:00pm to 6:30pm--it's fantastic and you can easily make a full meal (and then some) off of the various quality offerings on it. Soto most recently made my husband's birthday a wonderfully memorable one, and I couldn't recommend them more highly.
