The food is phenomenal and beautiful! And our server was especially helpful, friendly and attentive to our first time sushi goers. The food is unique and delicious. Go once and you'll be hooked!
An excellent birthday meal for my wife. The miso sea bass was amazing!
Wow! Nothing but amazing things to say about this place. Food was awesome, service was amazing, atmosphere was great! My husband and I live less than 10 minutes from Soto and really wish we would’ve tried it sooner!! 10/10 you need to try this place!!
Celebrated a friend’s birthday. Service was great and the food and drinks were delicious. They’re from out of town and loved the place as well. Soto has always been one of my favorite places in Cedar Park. Highly recommend!
We took relatives from out of town for the first time. We have been to Soto many times before. We ended up having a wide variety of different types of sushi including a few rolls and quite a few appetizers. Everything was excellent, off the charts fantastic. As usual Soto did not disappoint. Highly recommend this place. Thanks!
Soto is always a relatively quiet and wonderful experience. The service is great and the food is to die for. The staff is knowledgeable and energetic. The drinks are smooth and you can find something to pair with any dish.
Awesome. One of our favorite places overall in Austin (we dined in 10 times and each time we get a chance, we come back!). Upscale japanese food and their risotto wagyu and nigiri foie gras are just unforgettable. Very pricy though.
I love Soto. I had not been in over a year and I forgot how creative the menu is using high quality ingredients. We had many of the specials that were made from tuna flown in that morning and they were exquisite. Toro truffle maki rolls are what dreams are made of. I love their lychee martini because it isn't too sweet. Don't miss the Chili Hamachi or steamed seafood dumplings. All around wonderful experience. I will be back soon
It was good to be back at Soto has had not been there since February… Service was very attentive and the food is top notch as usual! Great value for lunch.
Always impeccable quality and not a downtown drive!!! Wonderful service as well.
Food and service were outstanding. Chris was great and really made our first time out since having our son absolutely delightful. With both my husband and I in the food service industry we tend to critique food and service pretty hard but we couldn’t find anything wrong with our experience tonight. The cocktails and food were so delicious that we even got dessert, which we never do. We will definitely be returning!
We've come here many times over the years. Food is always so good -- fresh, tasty, consistent with "known dishes," and their tuna nigiri selection is awesome. Our service this time was also, consistently, very good - friendly, knowledgeable, with good suggestion rationale.
In the past we benefitted from the happy hour pricing but came on a weekend night for our Anniversary. Wow! Forgot about real prices - will not do that again. Nigiri - while fresh and delicious - is rather small portion and priced individually. For two of us, each with a couple of drinks (whiskeys and saki), a roll, appetizer and 4 nigiri, bill was ~ $300. Yikes!
For food - highly recommend. Just need to make sure you budget for the experience!
This place is on fire and I’m not just talking about their fire roasted salmon which is a must try! The flavors are unique, presentation is amazing and food was phenomenal. We will definitely be back!
Always a good time and the bar service was actually on point this go around. For some reason every other time I've been I've had to order another round as soon as the first one is dropped at the table in order to avoid empty glasses.
Extraordinario!!!! Todos los platos que pedimos eran de una calidad y experiencia insuperables!!! Mi único pero seria el lugar que no es el más bonito del mundo pero la comida está increíble!!!
The happy hour menu is a great deal for sushi cravings after work.
The food is delicious! A friend and I went about a week ago, and we decided to go back and try another dish. We were not disappointed. I highly recommend this restaurant.
We were at Soto for my birthday. It was the first time we were trying Soto. Very happy with the food, unfortunately the waitress neglected to bring one of our party her drink and did not listen well (two people ordered fried rice with no vegetables and were served fried rice with vegetables which had to be replaced). Overall, we really enjoyed our evening but thought the food was slightly overpriced.
The fire salmon, jalapeño hamachi, sea bass, and tuna flight are to die for! Best selections on the menu. The Sauvignon Blanc on the menu is yummy and made my feel even happier about my food ;). I highly recommend Soto - too quality every time!!!
Everything was excellent and customer service was amazing!
The food at Soto was fantastic. We had a large variety of the nigiri and every piece was outstanding, especially the Kama Toro and the Sake Toro. We also had several rolls including the Soto 2.0 Roll which I loved. I don't usually eat dessert at sushi restaurants but I'm glad I chose the Green Tea Tiramisu because it was perfect to end a huge meal with my family. I will return here soon.
The service was good the food was average.
Great sushi and features, our server was very helpful. LOVE this place!
We went there twice and we all loved it. The food was amazing and Maso the winter was so nice and good service. This is our favorite restaurant for sure. Will go back often.
The wagyu beef was the bomb. My boys loved it and I think we have spoiled my boys too much😂😂😂
This is truly a hidden gem. You hear that a lot. But for someone who has lived all over the world and eaten everywhere (I’m not boasting) this place blew me away! When I made the reservation the first time I went I saw that it was family run by a Japanese family. Kitchen, sushi bar and front of the house all run by the family. Then I did more research and realized they are only 1 of 3 restaurants in Austin that import their fresh fish from Japan weekly. You may be surprised to find out that the other 2 places are Uchi and Uchiko. Yet this little, strip mall bound restaurant away from al things “cool” in Austin is serving only the freshest of Japanese fish!
Then what blew us away again was the cocktail menu. All home created concoctions that literally would fit in at any trendy bar in downtown Austin. The sour named after the name of a city in Japan that at this moment eludes me was a highlight. Plus an amazing assortment of top notch sakes for any sake lover to enjoy. The real deal stuff.
Then the Soto specialties... try the uni shooter and you will not be disappointed. After the amazing shot it comes with a tiny type of Japanese peach (about the size of an olive) that’s sweetness balanced out the brine and umami of the uni and oyster.
So try any of the fish obviously... nigiri or sashimi style. But venture outside of just that and try some of the chefs creations. The truffle Otoro being a delight!
Lastly the service. Both times we have gone we had a waiter named Chris. Not only is he knowledgeable and clearly well trained. But just gets how to be fun and talkative without ever making you feel burdened over dinner. His timing and feel for your pace and meal is impeccable.
So... I don’t write reviews often. But Soto deserve it. If you’re looking for an amazingly authentic sushi/Japanese experience without any of the pretentiousness you find at some “other” sushi spots in Austin then Soto is for you!
Very good food & service. We would definitely come back
My husband and I enjoyed Soto very much. The fish was fresh, the Wagyu was tender. The risotto dish was surprisingly our favorite. I saw that because who knew you could eat delicious risotto in a sushi restaurant?!? I have an will recommend this restaurant to friends.
Service and food was outstanding! Thank you!
Such a great dining experience with a combination of high quality delicious food. Was shocked when it was next to a party city when we arrived, and was pleasantly surprised at how great it was keeping in mind the location. Waiter was fabulous.
The food was outstanding as well as the service! We love Soto!
Soto is one of our favorite sushi places in Austin. The fish is always incredibly fresh, service great. The chef's selections are always incredible. Highly recommend!
The best sushi you’ll ever find!
Food was interesting and well thought out. Not an everyday kind of sushi place. The dishes were creative and enjoyable. Service was excellent. Ambiance was modern, romantic and comfortable. Great experience
Always great food a regular for us
Busy for COVID sat in bar area
Service not great on this trip
But food was outstanding
The fire salmon was great on presentation and even better on flavor! I love this place.
Food is always great!!! Service was a little slow at the beginning but improved throughout the evening.
Great place for specialty and classic rolls. Best appetizers!
Good food and great service
Soto is amazing... quite ambiance, great food and great service!
Chris the bartender is also outstanding.
Love the great service, the friendly atmosphere and the amazing food.
Thank-you Chef Andy!
