Sortino's - Pocono Manor
Adding a new chapter to a rich culinary history, Sortino’s celebrates the family recipes and generous spirit of its Sicilian immigrant founders. This is the kind of neighborhood Italian joint that could open on your street tomorrow and would feel like it’s been there forever.
The tone is established by the framed family photos at the entrance, and reaffirmed by the maître ‘d’s warm welcome. The aroma of simmering sauces and fresh-baked breads stimulates the appetite, while the sight of bountiful homemade Italian specialties racing from the kitchen to the table catches the eye.

I was so looking forwards to a nice Italian meal at Sortinos Restaurant but it was a fiasco. We ordered two fruiit di mare and a pasta alfredo. The food was flavorless and cold. The powder used to make the sauce for the fruiti di mare was visible throughout the food. The fried calamari were very good. As hard to believe as it might sound we ordered a latte and it was also cold. The waiter kept leaving quickly before I could say anything.
Service was good to start. It was a bit slow to get the main course and they messed up one of the plates. Everyone was done eating by the time the correction came. No offers to makeup for the mistake. Definitely pricey as you would expect for a resort like this.
Great imchoice for Italian food. Very wonderful and fast service
To be fair let me start by saying that I have an expensive pallet. I live in NYC and often go to expensive restaurants. I expected more from this place. My server was very nice and kind and always made sure we were ok. He did not bring any complimentary bread that other servers brought out for other families and it’s not a big deal because we got appetizers but it might be for other families. They wonder why they are being sectioned out and treated differently. With that being said the food was not so good. It tasted more like pizzeria food and not Italian restaurant food. If you know then you know and again to be fair I don’t eat mediocre food. Overall I was not happy and gave it 2 stars because our server was very nice. If you’re like me then before you go out to eat you check reviews so you have an idea of what to expect and I was expecting to be charged gratuity so yes they charge you gratuity which is fair and ok with me because a lot of people are cheap as hell. But because food was nothing more than basic We definitely would not be back.
Where to begin , let’s start with food . The food was very very overpriced. Now , I expected to pay more but the portion size was very small . I paid an extra $7 to add chicken and literally got 4, 2.5 by 1 inch strips of chicken. There was no salad with the meal . I don’t think I have ever been to a Italian restaurant where the meal didn’t come with soup or salad. My son got the Mac and cheese and asked me why they forgot to put the cheese on it because it was so dry. My other son ordered the ravioli, it was $10 and he got 4 raviolis. The food came out cold and the restaurant wasn’t busy. The service was also poor as well. They came to our table one time other than to bring the drinks ( first time ) and then food . Then they came once at the end to bring the bill , and they never even asked us how everything was. I would not recommend eating here to anyone and I will not be going back. Also 20% is automatically included on all orders regardless of party size. I usually tip well and have no issues with this normally but I feel by adding it in , it doesn’t give the wait staff extra incentive to earn a larger tip.
I would not recommend. Food and service were not acceptable. Also, I was not happy with the 20% gratuity automatically included, not matter what!
Service was not good. Waited a long time for everything. Food only came out luke warm and not hot. Overall we were not impressed.
Waitress was excellent. Good Was good.
Food was cold, server very inexperienced, drinks was horribly….
Overall bad experience.
Food was average plus it didn’t come in the right sequence. The side breads felt like 2-3 days stale. Service was the worst. We had to ask for the basics like water refill, silverware, pizza toppings spices, fresh plates, cleaning the table before cake cutting, & blah blah blah. The waiter was rarely available to ask this as well. We had to wait 5min. Each time for asking these. Moreover, they charge 20% dine-in & 12% take-out tip by default, for what?
poor service at all ,the waitress didn’t bring ours drink not even water for long time same thing with the food so bad service
The delicious food, great service, and our very friendly and professional waiter Justine made our dining experience an amazing one.
My wife and I were staying at Mt. Airy lodge. Wanted Italian for the 2nd night. Ate at Bisteca Chophouse in Mt. Airy the first night. Read reviews for Sortinos and they seemed ok, so we decided to drive over to the hotel they are located in.
We knew that hotel and restaurant catered to children so we asked to sit in the bar area, after hearing the hostess tell someone else that kids weren’t allowed in that area.
Well, the whole time we were sitting there, kids were running in and out, loud, obnoxious, in bathing suits, etc. My kids were always well behaved in restaurants so this was annoying. I guess the parents are at fault but that’s neither here nor there.
As for the food. We come from NYC and Long Island. Used to good Italian food. This food was one step above chef boyardee. My wife’s Bruschetta app was ok. The 2 pasta meals we got for main courses were not good at all. I got meatballs and spaghetti, hard to screw that up. I left half of it. My wife picked at her pasta dish.
We probably should have looked for a restaurant in town, so shame on us for that misstep.
No water on table, no drink refills - slow drink service- had empty drinks most of meal.
Friendly staff, food was good but pizza dry, pasta bolognese was nothing special.
Meat/cheese platters and mozzarella excellent though. Service for most part was good and atmosphere was good.
The food SUCKED ,you get better food from a truck,
Awful food, overpriced. Waitress tried her best, manager was rude.
Food was not that good for all of us , However the server was great.
The waitress had no personality and she didn’t even bring us bread for the table like other guests had. We ordered water with lemon and she only brought the water we had to ask her again for the lemon.
The meatballs and sauce have no flavor
Service was good. Food was very average. One of our meals came out cold.
My kids did not like the food especially the meatballs.
While the service was good and the waitress was attentive, the food was totally overpriced and well below average! None of the pasta dishes we ordered were hot at the time of serving which was really disappointing! Additionally, the portions were shockingly small considering the very high prices we paid, and the pasta was plain and lacked seasoning. Frankly, we should have probably doubled up on the appetizers and cancelled all main courses! I will not come back to this place as it really put a damper on our experience at the resort.
Food was OK. Overpriced and loud. Would not go back.
Good food, good service and good ambience....
Timely service and attention to detail
I have a great dinner with friends food was great service was outstanding great service and very attentive,
The food was excellent! The Spinach and gorgonzola salad was mouth wateringly delicious 😋!
Food wasn’t great honestly. Things we’re missing from my dish and I wasn’t informed until I brought It up to the waitress.
A little slow with taking our order but offered free mozzarella bread. Striped bass with puttanesca sauce was amazing. Other 3 people at table had seafood fra diovolo and loved it. Cannoli cart is fun and delicious. Nice atmosphere in a beautiful resort hotel. Can't wait to go back.
We love Sortinos. There aren’t many restaurants where we have so many good food options that we can’t decide, but that is the case at Sortinos. All the food was great. Also, not many places make dessert so tempting… and we get it every time! Santiago was our waiter (again) and he was fabulous!!!
We absolutely love this restaurant when we visit Kalahari! Great gluten free options as well! Very nice restaurant yet great for kids as well!
Everything was great except for the screaming and running kids beside us that the parents and staff turn an absolute blind eye and ear to! We picked up our food and drinks and moved to a distant vacant table.
We had a great experience! Food, drinks, service far exceeded our expectations, especially after reading some of the reviews. We had the calamari, fish of the day (sea bass), and a spicy seafood pasta dish. Finished off with an affogato! No complaints. We would definitely come back when we visit Kalahari again in the future!
This is our 2nd time eating here and the food is really good! Our server was very sweet too. I actually left my purse under the table by mistake this time and thankfully it was found and returned to me safely!
Food was ok , I ordered penne al vodka but got ziti al vodka. However my son says his ravioli was delicious. Guess it depends on what you order
Great place, good music, excellent attention, the food was delicious!!! The only thing was that it was really hard to find a parking spot if you are not staying at Kalahari.
We waited over 45 minutes for our check, after we asked our waitress twice for it!! I’m
The meals were overpriced and the portions were small.
Decent! Would like to see mozzarella sticks on the menu, just saying.
Food is great for the value. Our waitress is very nice and they sang Happy Birthday for my son’s 10th Birthday!
They were very accommodating with switching our reservation time. The antipasto salad was very good and the drinks were well made.
