The ambience is great! Beautiful lighting and table settings . Upstairs is a bar/lounge which can accessed with an elevator and they play live music with a band! There is a ginormous big screen and plenty of room for lounging. The food wasn’t as great as it looked. We started off with the farmhouse pizza which was excellent. It had large pieces of bacon, lots of herbs and the runny egg was perfect. I loved the flavors. The Branzino presentation was beautiful, it was cooked well but no flavor to the fish or anything. The redfish was excellent and the sauce was savory and lemony but the potatoes tasted like paste. The gragnano linguine was absolutely flavorless and the pasta was cooked way before al dente! Not a fan of that dish at all. The lasagna was amazing!!!! It’s not the traditional lasagna soaked in pounds of tomato sauce. It was very rich, flavorful, and cheesy and the pasta was cooked perfectly! The Castello Chianti was an amazing wine.
Absolutely one of the best meals i've had in years. Incredible service from Ezekiel and so much more on the menu we wanted to try.
Great food and service
Giorgio made us feel right at home. Fabulous wine selection and new menu items - must try!
Good food, but not awesome. Price seemed high for what was received. Service was good. Noise level a little higher then I would have liked but not a big deal.
Birthday dinner and couldn’t have been better. Such fresh pasta with incredible sauces. Service was spectacular and wine was yummy!
Sorriso is my favorite restaurant where I feel I’m eating true Italian food. The food and service are exceptional. Giorgio, the manager will make sure you have the best wine to your taste.
While what we were able to order was pretty good it was not as good as in the past. Items not served at ideal temperature, etc. The primary issue we had was that we were given a 1:30 reservation on Christmas and were not told the kitchen was closing at 2:00. We brought crackers and ordered drinks telling servers we were taking our time.
We ordered a few items so we could nosh before getting entrees. They started to get forceful about clearing plates. At 2:40 I was ready to order our main dishes I was only then informed the kitchen had closed 40 mins earlier. I appreciate that our drinks and starters had been comped but this aggravation could have been avoided and we could have come earlier if we were told about the kitchen timing. Who eats a family holiday meal in 30 minutes. How would we have known about the limited window if no one told us. Poor communication on special day.
The best Italian in the area.
Not the typical Italian-american.
Dined here on a chilly December Monday night. THE GOOD: Excellent table overlooking the plaza and waterfall, the waitress, the Gratinee Oysters, Roasted Peppers (had instead of a soup or salad), and Grilled Branzino; THE MEDIOCRE: N/A; THE BAD: N/A
Lots of attentive staff except for our waiter in the beginning. Food was ok. They are very stingy on toppings if you order a pizza. Steak was a lil undercooked when requested medium. Likely won’t be back unless someone invites us there. Just an ok experience for the money you spend.
The food and service was outstanding! The problem was the noise level didn’t allow us to enjoy our friends. Ask for a back corner table away from bar if you want to have conversations .
I love this place. Excellent service a food.
My wife and I ordered the Lamb Shack and enjoyed the flavor and texture. The meat was cocked to perfection.
This is an excellent place for a romantic dinner.
Food was not the best quality
We intended to have an Italian entree of veal. It was listed on the specials for the evening. When I tried to order that special, I was told that it was a "typo" and should have said "chicken" Marsala rather than veal. Disappointing for sure. The recall on Romaine lettuce was understandable so no Caesar salad. The list of entrees is quite limited so we ordered pizzas. They were quite good. I sure wished for the veal, however.
Hello Shirley, Thank you so much for visiting us Saturday night. We do apologize about the confusion on the Milanese Dish! We had run a Veal special and switched to a chicken special the next day and it wasn't printed correctly and that is our fault. The Romaine has been recently cleared and safe for consumption and we are back serving the Caesar Salad. We are happy you enjoyed the pizzas and we hope you come back to see us again! Thanks Again, Zach Carpenter AGM
We were staying at the hotel and decided to enjoy a relaxing dinner after a long drive. We were very pleased with the service, cocktails, and the delicious food.
Nancy, Thank you so much for your review. We love having our hotel guests come in and try what we have to offer. It makes us happy that you left happy. Best, Zach Carpenter
Sorriso was a delightful surprise -- incredible food with an attention to detail, beautiful setting, great service, and as a bonus the prices were on par with much more casual restaurants in the area.
Excellent food and service. planning on returning and would highhly recommend to anyone.
Food and atmosphere are great. Staff is very professional and friendly. Would highly recommend.
Roasted olives are outstanding. Great wine list. Not impressed with the Caesar Salad. The Redfish entree is excellent. Saffron Panzotto was good. Great atmosphere with excellent service
This was our first time dining at Sorriso restaurant in the Woodlands. It is located at a prime spot at the top of Waterway Square and situated at the bottom of the Westin Hotel. On arrival we were greeted exceedingly warmly by the gentleman at the front who showed us to our table. Whilst on route he explained the ethos and workings of the restaurant. He also mentioned a cosy bar upstairs that we didn’t try this visit but look forward to doing so in the future. Whilst walking to our table I was struck by the excellent decor, the variety of seating and just how much larger the restaurant was than I had envisioned. We were seated (as requested at booking) at a romantic table overlooking the balcony/outside seating area (alas too cold for tonight). Our waiter was excellent in every sense of the word. He was warm and welcoming, extremely knowledgeable about the dishes and produce used and honest when he didn’t know if a certain dish (the newer ones) were good or not. We opted to try the ‘Cast Iron Shellfish Stew Puttanescla’ from the Hot Shareables side of the menu. This was a new addition to the menu and our waiter mentioned it was extremely well received. The dish was delicious and the excellent complementary breads and olive oil were a fitting accompaniment. We also shared the ‘Saffron Panzotto’ which was tasty but not as stand out as the first dish. Dessert, ‘Torta della Nonna’ was lovely and complemented by excellent coffee (real strong coffee, not the usual brown watery stuff restaurants charge $4 a cup for). Finally we found the atmosphere very relaxing and we were made to feel welcome throughout the evening. The complimentary parking in the garage opposite (via ticket validation) was also a welcome addition. Definitely a spot to try if you haven’t already done so. We will be back!
One of the most fun places adults can eat in The Woodlands!!! Fabulous vibe and atmosphere, with great food and service! Really appreciate the restaurant calling me to assure I got the table and location I wanted and they could not have been more accommodating. We were with a group and I think we tried everything on the menu! Love the way it’s laid out so you really can try a lot of options and aren’t just limited to salad and entree (unless you want that). Going upstairs to club afterwards made this for a big city night out experience in the’ burbs! Can’t wait to go back!
I enjoyed the restaurant and the service. The tomato and Burrata as well as the Charcuterie was vey good. I also enjoyed the tiramisu. I would return if the opportunity arises.
Excellent food, very good wine list but service uneven
This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was awesome.
Very good experience in every way. A little bread with the meal would have been nice though. We will definitely come back.
First time at Sorriso and not sure if I’d return. Quiet weekday lunch with only 2 other tables. After reviewing the menu for a bit I decided on a pizza. When the server came to take my order, she told me there was no pizza available as there was an issue with the dough machine. Also no sandwiches. Well, that’s half the menu and it would have been useful to know that before I decided what I wanted. So I decided on a pasta dish. Bread basket was delicious while I waited. The wait in between appetizer, main, and check were all pretty long considering there was almost no one else there. Mozzarella in Carozza was pretty good, but ratio was a little cheese heavy for my personal taste. Pasta was ok, but not great. May just have been an off day, but it was disappointing. Hostess however was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that.
Staff, food and vino - all EXCELLENT!!!
Dinner was fantastic, I had my first date there the other night and everything was amazing! The boothe we sat in was extremely comfortable, the food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic. Got loud towards the end, but was overall an amazing time!
I was meeting a new friend for dinner and the entire staff went out of their way to make it an awesome experience. I especially want to thank the host who helped with table selection and the entire team. Best restaurant experience in years, better service than the Michelin stared restaurants where I regularly dine on business trips.
It's a nice quiet restaurant. The food is good but a bit pricey for the amount they serve. Service was great our waitress Dina was very attentive to our needs. Overall great experience.
I had the arugula pizza. It was spectacular! Fresh not heavy sauce at all & thin crust as I love. My husband had the red fish and he really enjoyed it. It was missing some side to come with the fish.
The service was ok. We had to wave a lot for our waiter even though we’re right next to the computer were they put the orders. Customer service could improve from the waiter side. The wine expert seemed very nice as well as the host.
Ambience and service was great. Food was a bit bland and overly salty. Disappointed that item I wanted was not available after specifically checking menu out online. We did like the octopus appetizer.
The food here is terrible. I will not return or recommend to anyone I care about.
The food is modern Italian. The homemade pasta is excellent. I also had a crab cake that was all crab and no filler. It was excellent. They also have a tiramisu that is unique and really good. My only negative is that they do not have a good or varied cocktail menu. Other than that don’t miss this place
Bad experience began when hostess went thru motions to take to the table...no welcome, how are you, just telling me how busy she was....really?
We (a group of 7) ate lunch at Sorriso. Very quiet, which is great for a talkative bunch of ladies. Food was quite good and the menu eclectic. Both octopus and roast suckling pig were available, neither of which are common items on menus in this area. Chairs are not cushy enough for a lingering meal, but the casual atmosphere was nice.
Great food, nice atmosphere.
Excellent service and delicious meal
My wife were meeting friends who live in another city. We got there early and luckily got into bar for happy happy. Wine was good. Our friends came and we bought them a drink and then went to be seated. There were 6 of us and at first they only brought out a very small basket of bread. I asked waiter to bring out another bowl of bread, which he did. The portions of olive oil and spices seemed quite skimpy (very small). We wanted to order calamari and shrimp which was on on happy hour menu but were told we couldn’t because that was only available in bar. I was a bit disappointed that menu for main courses was somewhat limited. Also was disappointed that salads were not included with dinners. I ordered the lamb with polenta which was very good. I believe that most others ordered linguine with crab meat which came in small bowls and seemed somewhat skimpy. Nevertheless everyone thought food was very good. We shared deserts which were excellent.
I would have ordered a bottle or two of wine with dinner but we had wine in bar for happy hour. I think wine list is good but much too pricey. In Italy wine would be much more affordable. Cheapest wine was $35 to $40 a bottle.
I don’t live very close to Woodlands as I’m 1.5 hours away. I thought restaurant was was very nice and had ambiance. Portion of pasta were too small.
Would I revisit your restaurant again? Probably not though we all enjoyed the good. We appreciated that you’re a real Italian restaurant. Just would like to have seen more options on dinner menu.
