We were seated on arrival. Our waiter was very friendly and informative.
He didn’t take a drink order straight away so when he did finally ask
It was about 15 minutes after arrival. After that the service was very good.
The wine we ordered, one we knew, wasn’t available so the sommelier recommended an alternative which we all enjoyed.
We all enjoyed the food we ordered. Very flavorful.
We will be back
This was our date night and everything from the ambiance, service and food were excellent. Comfortable atmosphere with couples and couples. My husband and I travel to Italy frequently and enjoy authentic Italian food and we both agreed everything about Sorriso was authentic Italian from our burrata and parma appetizer, seafood entrees and great dessert. Service was attentive. Great coffee. We will definitely visit again!
Loved this restaurant. This was our first visit, and we were glad that we made this choice. Friendly staff, knowledgeable, and the management staff made you feel like you were the only table.
Amazing service and the food was fantastic.
The food, the service, and the ambiance was great! Only issue we had was that they asked us to leave, so they could clean the table at about 11pm. This is the first time we've been asked to leave a restaurant, while still having drinks.
Thank you for your comments and we are very happy you enjoyed your time for dinner and drinks! Unfortunately and fortunately, we open back up at 6:30am for breakfast so an hour after the kitchen closes we try to clear out the restaurant to clean and ask people to join us upstairs for live music and the bar upstairs. Again, thank you for the comments and we look forward to serving you again. Zach Carpenter AGM
Food is excellent!
Wine list is on both extremes: list of wines by the bottle is excellent too, but the list of wines by the glass is surprisingly very limited and overly expensive.
Instructions regarding parking could be clearer. Make sure you notice that restaurant is part of Westin, and where to park, specially if you’re from out of town and unfamiliar with area.
Very good food, the service was great. The only thing that we found irritating was the noise. They could do something about the acoustic.
Thank you very much for your comments. We will take those into consideration and try to improve the ambient sound in the restaurant. Looking forward to serving you again, Zach Carpenter AGM
Our pizza was under done and our pork chop was over cooked. The wine was very good but the service was slow.
Barbara, Thank you for leaving the comment. We apologize that we did not meet your expectations, we hope that you will give us a second chance to make it up to you. On a positive note, we like that you enjoyed the wine. We take great pride in bringing in awesome wines for the community to try. Thank you for letting us serve you, Zach Carpenter AGM
Service was poor , food was cold and did not have good flavor. Sat in a table in the middle of a group event.
Hello, Good or bad, thank you for your comments. We will be more mindful in the future to sit anyone in the middle of another large group. Please feel free to let a manager know if you are ever wanting to move tables as we are able to make this sort of thing happen 99% of the time and our problem would be solved. Thanks again for the visit and hope to see you again, anonymous. Zach Carpenter AGM
Great food and service.
Interesting take on an Italian restaurant, many authentic touches to the food and service. Some contradictions as well, such as having television screens and a rather noisy environment in a restaurant with hundreds of wines, none under $50 and some in the many hundreds (either you aim for an Italian-themed wine & food bar with $30 to $60 wines, or you make the restaurant feel like a place for foodie patrons who like to enjoy expensive fare in a nice decor while being able to hear each other talk). The food was excellently cooked and served, best octopus in a long time, lamb shank and pork chop cooked to perfection, well-prepared polenta, etc.. Just maybe a little heavy on the salt for some of the sauces and sides. Very attentive service, genuinely nice people, some actually from Italy, taking good care off our table without being overbearing, very relaxing and enjoyable.
Best Italian restaurant in town! Great food, excellent wine list and fantastic ambiance.
Food, drinks, atmosphere, server...everything was great!
Great food,wine and hospitality.
Sorriso has been an excellent addition to The Woodlands which has been lacking in Italian dining options. We had an excellent experience starting with their wide range of wines and a very knowledgeable sommelier to offer guidance on your selection. The menu had a wide variety to offer from home made pizza to several different pastas, meat/fish dishes, and desserts. I selected a pasta from their specials menu and was very happy with this unique offering. Service was excellent. We look forward to our next visit to Sorriso.
The service is excellent, fantastic wine list, had a great Bordeaux, Chateau Lassegue St Emilion. The duck liver pate was very good as was my pasta.
So much potential. Nice place, nice menu. We were a group of 3. The salmon dish came out right and hot, the butternut squash ravioli was tasty but cold; they did not put the pasta in a hot plate. The lump crab pasta was too salty and spicy; so spicy that it should be indicated on the menu, and again no hot plate. Our server hovered over us during the entire meal. She tried taking dishes away from us while we were still eating, and then rushed us through our courses. We wanted a quiet meal where we could take out time, but that was difficult when someone is watching your every move. Any errors in service were quickly blamed on other members of the staff.
Great place and fabulous wine list but pricy. I will go back
Sorriso is the most authentic Italian restaurant in The Woodlands, hands down. The wine list is excellent, especially the selection of Italian wines. I have lived in Italy for over 9 years and I felt at home browsing through the impressive wine list.
Food was not cooked all the way and was very salty. The meat was very dry and had minimal flavor. It was a nice place, but the food was not worth what we paid.
Excellent service & food. Wine list was nice as well. Wonderful location & views. Como lounge upstairs is perfect for an after dinner drink. Will definitely return!
We found Sorriso after a long drive from Dallas. it was the perfect spot for a quiet, delicious meal.
The ambience is great! Beautiful lighting and table settings . Upstairs is a bar/lounge which can accessed with an elevator and they play live music with a band! There is a ginormous big screen and plenty of room for lounging. The food wasn’t as great as it looked. We started off with the farmhouse pizza which was excellent. It had large pieces of bacon, lots of herbs and the runny egg was perfect. I loved the flavors. The Branzino presentation was beautiful, it was cooked well but no flavor to the fish or anything. The redfish was excellent and the sauce was savory and lemony but the potatoes tasted like paste. The gragnano linguine was absolutely flavorless and the pasta was cooked way before al dente! Not a fan of that dish at all. The lasagna was amazing!!!! It’s not the traditional lasagna soaked in pounds of tomato sauce. It was very rich, flavorful, and cheesy and the pasta was cooked perfectly! The Castello Chianti was an amazing wine.
Absolutely one of the best meals i've had in years. Incredible service from Ezekiel and so much more on the menu we wanted to try.
Great food and service
Giorgio made us feel right at home. Fabulous wine selection and new menu items - must try!
Good food, but not awesome. Price seemed high for what was received. Service was good. Noise level a little higher then I would have liked but not a big deal.
Birthday dinner and couldn’t have been better. Such fresh pasta with incredible sauces. Service was spectacular and wine was yummy!
Sorriso is my favorite restaurant where I feel I’m eating true Italian food. The food and service are exceptional. Giorgio, the manager will make sure you have the best wine to your taste.
While what we were able to order was pretty good it was not as good as in the past. Items not served at ideal temperature, etc. The primary issue we had was that we were given a 1:30 reservation on Christmas and were not told the kitchen was closing at 2:00. We brought crackers and ordered drinks telling servers we were taking our time.
We ordered a few items so we could nosh before getting entrees. They started to get forceful about clearing plates. At 2:40 I was ready to order our main dishes I was only then informed the kitchen had closed 40 mins earlier. I appreciate that our drinks and starters had been comped but this aggravation could have been avoided and we could have come earlier if we were told about the kitchen timing. Who eats a family holiday meal in 30 minutes. How would we have known about the limited window if no one told us. Poor communication on special day.
The best Italian in the area.
Not the typical Italian-american.
Dined here on a chilly December Monday night. THE GOOD: Excellent table overlooking the plaza and waterfall, the waitress, the Gratinee Oysters, Roasted Peppers (had instead of a soup or salad), and Grilled Branzino; THE MEDIOCRE: N/A; THE BAD: N/A
Lots of attentive staff except for our waiter in the beginning. Food was ok. They are very stingy on toppings if you order a pizza. Steak was a lil undercooked when requested medium. Likely won’t be back unless someone invites us there. Just an ok experience for the money you spend.
The food and service was outstanding! The problem was the noise level didn’t allow us to enjoy our friends. Ask for a back corner table away from bar if you want to have conversations .
I love this place. Excellent service a food.
My wife and I ordered the Lamb Shack and enjoyed the flavor and texture. The meat was cocked to perfection.
This is an excellent place for a romantic dinner.
Food was not the best quality
We intended to have an Italian entree of veal. It was listed on the specials for the evening. When I tried to order that special, I was told that it was a "typo" and should have said "chicken" Marsala rather than veal. Disappointing for sure. The recall on Romaine lettuce was understandable so no Caesar salad. The list of entrees is quite limited so we ordered pizzas. They were quite good. I sure wished for the veal, however.
Hello Shirley, Thank you so much for visiting us Saturday night. We do apologize about the confusion on the Milanese Dish! We had run a Veal special and switched to a chicken special the next day and it wasn't printed correctly and that is our fault. The Romaine has been recently cleared and safe for consumption and we are back serving the Caesar Salad. We are happy you enjoyed the pizzas and we hope you come back to see us again! Thanks Again, Zach Carpenter AGM
We were staying at the hotel and decided to enjoy a relaxing dinner after a long drive. We were very pleased with the service, cocktails, and the delicious food.
Nancy, Thank you so much for your review. We love having our hotel guests come in and try what we have to offer. It makes us happy that you left happy. Best, Zach Carpenter
Sorriso was a delightful surprise -- incredible food with an attention to detail, beautiful setting, great service, and as a bonus the prices were on par with much more casual restaurants in the area.
