Sorriso Italian Kitchen
Had a wonderful time before seeing Trevor Noah. Food was excellent, service was timely and unobtrusive, drinks were great, and we'll be back to take advantage of Happy Hour again for sure!
Food was great and service was great. It was very slow at the time so we were the only table our waiter had, but he was attentive without being obnoxious.
Father’s Day lunch. Excellent food, very good to have an authentic Italian in The Woodlands. Great value. Return customer, after we did Mother’s Day brunch.
The best restaurant I tried in Houston and The Woodlands so far, true excellent italian food, both pizza and pasta!
Been a couple of times and becoming a go to place for a great dinner /evening out. Service is excellent, food exceptional and a wine list that you will find something special on. Well worth visiting
The servers were quite nice and we enjoyed her, but the hostesses was terrible. Rude and complete ignored my father. The food was hit and miss, when it was good it was really good, but when it wasn’t it was pretty subpar. The prices aren’t terrible when compared to some upscale restaurants, particularly considering it’s connected to a hotel, but I wouldn’t call it a bargain either.
The restaurant is beautiful though, and a fun place for drinks and to hangout on a date night. Their “shareables” side of the menu couldn’t be less shareable. All in all a fun place to go for a change, particular for drinks, but I wouldn’t recommend it for regular visits or for particularly standout Italian food.
Excellent menu and wine choices. Food quality was very high. Our first visit - we’ll definitely be back.
The Food Was Delicious. Service Was Great. Wine was wonderful. Will definitely go again.
Fantastic atmosphere, great innovative northern Italian dishes, deep cellar selection and impeccable service
We ordered several items; multiple small plates, pizza, and two fish entrees. One of the fish dishes was supposed to be a Mediterranean white fish but had the sandy taste of tilapia which I despise. The redfish was fried (not noted on the menu) but overwhelmed by everything the heaviness of potatoes and lackluster greens. The salad with octopus was very good. Pizza was bland; we ordered the onion and gorgonzola. Spinach pasta dish with garbanzo beans and tomatoes was interesting but missed the mark. I had such high hopes.
Hard to beat the food and service; sit at the bar and let Caleb do his thing.
Service is generally consistent and top notch, though they do encounter delays at times (still adjusting to the Pavilion concert schedule I think). This last trip, they ran out of bread, which seemed strange, but we arrived at 7:45pm (they close at 9pm)...so it could just be a fluke due to timing. But overall, the food is amazing--true Italian dishes cooked with a lot of care and high quality ingredients--and the service has been good each time we've gone (Jason is our favorite so far, though they are all great). I definitely recommend giving them a try, as they are a nice addition to the Woodlands "foodie" scene.
The food was good and service was even better. The location is great and the ambiance was nice. I would give the another visit.
First, the waiter must be new. The Main menu should be given to the ladies first. He gave to the men. Next, A mixed drink tasted like the worst slush; was returned. A different one was done but a tiny tiny bit better. The fish was stinky. Since mashed potatoe was not liked, asked for a substitute but was told that it cannot be, must order a sude dish. The waiter could have seen that the basket of bread was empty, but only a new dish if olive oil n spices were brought over. We had no bread to go with the dips. The service was slow. The food was slow even though the room was not full. It was late. When both ladies asked for Dessert Menu, only one was given. When we asked for another one, it took a long time to give a second one, but we were 4 at the table! Finally the waiter saud they did not have a lot of Dessert Menus. Desserts were bad. Teramissu n the others 2 items from the top of the dessert menu were equally bad, bad, bad.
Not only we will not return but words already were sent out late last evening. It was an expensive dinner and not worth the time and tummy space. Once is plenty.
Thank you for your candid feedback. We apologize we did not hit the mark, we definitely will be reviewing the comments you made with our team. We hope you have a wonderful week! Zach Carpenter Asst. GM
Food was reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. Sommelier was phenomenal. Food was good, not great
Josh, Thank you for your comments, we take great pride in our affordability and our wine list. We hope to see you back. Zach Carpenter Asst. GM
For everything The Westin claimed this restaurant was going to be we just found it to be lame. Lame mellow waiter, table that rocked and food that was average to good at best. We won’t be back. Manager no where to be seen.
Delicious, Thank you for the feedback. We try to make it a great experience for everyone, sorry to hear we could not do that for you. Hope you have a better week! Zach Carpenter Assistant GM
My friends and I came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday. The place looks cute but that's about it.
We ordered 2 arugula salads with grilled octopus as our appetizers. It was neither ARUGULA salad nor GRILLED octopus. There were only a few pieces of arugula and the remaining 98% were yellow and orange bell peppers - which were NOT in the dish description! The octopus was drenched and did not look or taste grilled at all. Basically, we were served bell pepper salad with soggy octopus.
When inquired, our server informed us that they were out of arugula. This was at opening time 11:30am on a Tuesday!! For us it was quite insulting that they would try to get away with substituting a main ingredient, arugula, with something else and not inform us or ask if we would like to order something else instead!
Oustanding "home-made" old Italian cuisine. The very best in The Woodlands!
Mediocre service. My dish was excellent. Spouse’s meal underwhelmed. Wine is way overpriced. Club upstairs blares music so loud you can’t talk. Dessert and latte were exceptional. Overall, not terrible, but not enough to draw me back for second visit, either. Too many other better choices.
James, Thank you for your comments. Happy to hear you enjoyed the dessert and latte. Other notes we will definitely need to work on. Again, thank you for your feedback and have a great week. Zach Carpenter Assistant General Manager
I was celebrating my birthday at Sorriso and was really looking forward to trying this restaurant based on a perusal of the menu. I saw some negative reviews regarding service but thought perhaps some people are simply overly critical. I now have a better understanding. When we first arrived for our reservation, we were told we would have to wait ten minutes to be seated because although there were available tables, a sudden rush of customers had made the waiters overwhelmed. That struck me as sort of surprising for an upscale restaurant. Once we were seated we selected our starters and entrees. There was a fairly long wait for our appetizers so my husband and I quickly demolished the small bread basket placed before us. One of our two starters was a chicken liver pate and when it was served there was no accompanying toasts, crackers or anything else to spread the pate on. We pointed to the empty bread basket and asked for more bread (or anything really to eat the pate). They explained they ran out of bread (this was a 7:30 pm reservation by the way) and we would have to wait for some foccaccia which was being baked. By the time the foccaccia was finally served, they had already brought our entrees. My impression of the staff was that although they tried to be attentive, they were totally ignorant of the dishes they were serving and how they should be presented. This restaurant really needs well trained waiters to be worthy of the kind of food and ambiance they are offering. The quality of the food was pretty good but I left totally unimpressed and disinclined to return.
I would recommend if you don’t mind a lot of noise. We could not visit with our friends for the noise level. Also, several people were serving us but did not communicate with each other which meant we had to repeat our order & requests several times.
The food was great.
But need to improve the service.
Great meal!! Always a good dinner
We went here for my mothers birthday. Great food and excellent service!
The menu is quite interesting for an Italian Kitchen. Everything we tried was excellent! Great service and ambiance. Superb wines and desserts. Highly recommend this place for family or friends.
Booked a table for Easter Sunday lunch. Had requested a quiet area if possible, we were seated in a quiet area. Our waiter, Scott, was attentive and made spot-on recommendations. The kitchen was kind enough to grant our beet salad request although it is only on the dinner menu. Overall, I would go back to enjoy not only the food but the atmosphere and the welcoming staff.
The food is fantastic! Interesting flavors and nice presentation. Service was also attentive and very friendly. Everyone had a smile! The atmosphere is cozy, modern and clean. I'll be back!
This was a disaster from the start. There was no one in the restaurant. My meal looked like Ramen noodles met gourmet dog food. The taste wasn’t much better. My kids each ordered a kids chicken nugget meal that comes with a side of french fries but we asked if they could substitute pasta. No mention of the fact that they were going to charge six dollars each for a tiny side of ziti that barely covered the bottom of the bowl. Somehow they overcooked/burned the focaccia bread. Not much value here... but the price gouging on the pasta side item is probably reflective of a restaurant that is on its way out.
Good Afternoon Chris, I'm sorry the food was not up to your expectations. We feel we are of great value in the area, and the food is top notch. Of course there are times when we fall short on delivery and this sounds like the case with your experience. We will review with our team to ensure this does not happen again. Our sincerest apologies and we'd love to have you back. Have a great day. Zach Carpenter Assistant GM
Great food, loud room
Georgio is amazing!
Great meal, day server could use some additional training, but very pleasant.
There was a disco going on upstairs, and the loudness of the music made it unpleasant to dine at Sorriso. This was a great restaurant for a month or so, and while the food is still good, the Westin has lost the plot with inserting a disco.
Having previously worked in the restaurant industry I understand there are off nights, but this was an overall poor experience. At this price point you shouldn't have to ask for water for the table or wait more than 10 minutes for a server to come by. When our server showed up we were given a long list of things they were already out of at 7:30 on a Friday night. We were a table of 4 and one of us had an issue with a very undercooked porkchop, which did end up coming off the bill.
My friend who ordered the porkchop didn't receive his side of asparagus with his meal and when he found his porkchop raw in the middle he just requested the side of asparagus he was supposed to get instead of waiting for a another meal to be made. By the time the asparagus showed up everyone had long finished their meal. There was no concern about how poorly the meal was going and the manager never came by the table even though he made sure to talk to every other table nearby. We didn't buy a $200 bottle of wine that night but we did choose to come to this restaurant with all of the other options nearby and left feeling hungry and like our business wasn't important to this establishment. Will not be returning.
Hello Hellosunshinefunshine, Thank you for your comments. We do apologize for the lack of service and attention to your table. There is no excuse for not getting water in a timely fashion or that you porkchop was undercooked. We would like to think that a table getting a $40/bottle of wine get the same attention as a table getting a $200/bottle. We apologize that this was not the case. Please contact me directly as I would like to invite you back for a re-do on us. Zach - Asst. GM 713-553-5410
This was our first visit since this restaurant took over Current. We loved the food, the ambience and the service and plan to go back again!
Brook, We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your experience with us! Thanks again for the review and we hope to see you back. -Zach Carpenter Asst. GM
Food was great, however the service was horrible. We ordered some caponata and liver spreads and had to ask for bread 4 times (3 different people, including our server twice) before it got delivered. At the same time, the staff is trained to take food away from you even before you have finished with it. This happened twice during our dinner including half-full glass of wine!
The arrival was met with a cheerful greeting and she was engaging as we went to the table. Jason our server was amazing. He told us about the concept and was very knowledgeable and helpful when it came to making choices. A good value on wines by the glass, we didn’t look at the bottle choices. We tried the charred octopus and it was the best, cooked to a tender yummyness. The lamb ragu was presented table side with a bit of a show, the polenta was creamy and the lamb so tender. The homemade pasta is delicious. The sorbet is homemade and the hazelnut cake was just right, not too sweet, with the perfect amount of chocolate.
Good food but service was rushed. Brought main course while we were still enjoying our appetizer. Nice wines by the glass
We’re new to the area and have been in search of an authentic Italian restaurant and we found it! The food, the cocktails, the service, it was all perfect. We will be back!
Service was quite good and the ambiance is nice. The Grilled Branzino fish was delicious and nicely presented but Clam pasta lacked flavor and the pasta was beyond al dente hard.
We had the Olive Oil Cake and the Gran Baba. Neither were as good as they were during the launch party. Both were dry and the Gran Baba was quite hard and grainy in texture. The olive oil cake lacked the beautiful olive flavor it had in the smaller version served at the launch party. Perhaps it was overwhelmed by the thick layers of cream.
We will try Sorriso again but hope that they are able to improve these dishes.
Great place ....good service.....ask for Scott. Very friendly staff. Food was very good
