An enjoyable family run bistro with good food at reasonable prices in a cozy environment.
Love this place! Great food and great service
Lovely neighborhood restaurant with good food and quiet ambience.
What an amazing dining experience from beginning to end. The attentive servers and delicious food along with the low-key atmosphere made for an incredible evening for our party of ten.
This was the best Italian food I have ever had outside of NYC.. maybe anywhere.
Great place for a date nite or girls nite out. Had a great time and good food. Definitely a good place to invest in.
Our dinner was fantastic & server J.C. was great! Calamari was crispy & cooked perfectly. We loved the truffle oil & mushroom pappardelli. Amaretto cheesecake w graham cracker crust was so creamy & tasty!
Our server even surprised us w tiramisu for our anniversary.
We had a group of seven. All were entirely pleased with their meal. One guest had just returned from Tuscany and said that Sorriso's bolagnese sauce compared favorably - no need to travel to Italy. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. Can't wait to go back.
Food was OK. The server was very nice. Wine was very expensive for the quality.
The food reminded us of moms cooking in her basement.
What an incredible find! I walked in on Wednesday alone. I had arrived a day early to a conference across the street and just wanted a bit to eat. I had an incredible meal that night and came back the following 3 nights in a row, all with varying numbers in my group. Every single night was perfect, spot on. This is a new favorite when in DC!
Food was pretty good. Service was bad. Waitstaff rarely checked on our table and couldn’t even be flagged down. Maybe they were just understaffed tonight. Also, they kept playing the same song on repeat, which grew annoying.
I was there for two nights in a row. I ate the same thing. If I had stayed in town another day I’d have had a third meal there. They have a great selection of food options. The bread is fresh and served with olive oil. My friends scarfed it up. I had tilapia with lemons butter and capers that was served with arugula salad. Great choice for keto. I had one bite of a friend’s lasagna that was very tasty. It was light because they use crepes instead of pasta. The salmon was also delicious according to my table mates. The proprietor was mice and played good music. The gelato was outstanding — have the tiramisu or bananas chocolate chip. The cappuccino is the best. It’s a small place down some steps next to CVS pharmacy. Don’t let the looks fool you.
The food was delicious! Pasta serving size could be bigger though - it’s just so good, you just go through it so quickly. And the prices are great! BEST OF ALL was service! It was my gf’s birthday and they took care of her. It’s a cute place - a nice change from those hipster/chain locations.
We loved this place. The food was great. And the staff was exceptional. And I loved the Grandmother cake.
Took family of four (kids 14 & 12) for dinner. Nice out of the way spot. Terrific Italian menu. Food was great- pasta cooked perfectly, flavorful sauces, choices for everyone. Service was prompt and courteous. Dessert was outstanding as well- tried cakes and gelatos and all were great.
Food was excellent (we had the pasta with wild boar meat), wine just ok. Ambience is cozy but a little shabby. Not noisy at all. Friendly and unobtrusive service.
Dinner was delicious, five of us had all different dinners, pastas, specials. It was all good. We enjoyed a bottle of their Pinot Grigio also. Dessert was so so good. Gelato, sorbet, cannoli and amaretto cheesecake! The only drawback it that it is not handicapped accessible, so my daughter with a broken foot had to hop down about 5-6 step to the restaurant.
Friendly, neighborhood Italian eatery with wonderful, non pretentious food.
Great find! Small treasure somewhat hidden but well worth it.
A wonderful experience at this authentic hidden spot. Delicious pasta, airy pizza, and fresh calamari. The owner makes you feel right at home.
Excellent food. Casual atmosphere.
What a gem! This is the real deal. Small cozy space, excellent service, and excellent food.
This was a recommendation from the hotel. Loved the food and mom pop atmoshhere
The food and service were top notch!
The twosome next to us were speaking so loudly for the entire restaurant to hear. Absolutely nothing the restaurant staff could do to remedy the situation.
What a shame - we would have given five stars all around had it not been for the rude couple next to us.
We love this restaurant!
Food was great
We were pleasantly surprised for such a small basement non conspicuous restaurant. The food was really good. The Pappardelle with Truffle oil was spectacular and we all but licked our plates. The gelato was amazing. Our Brazilian server was very attentive and accommodating and we even got a free sample of the chocolate gelato by the owner. Very small, cozy place, with surprisingly delicious food.
The place was packed with people. We ordered a few appetizers and drinks followed by main dishes. They were good. The waitress and the waiter were attentive, but one waiter was a bit rude as he was too busy
Great food, not fancy but still delicious. Casual, intimate atmosphere where we could all hear each other talk (party of 8). I would definitely return.
Homemade ravioli in a butter and sage sauce was both different and delicious. Eggplant parmigiano was divine. Pinot noir was perfectly matched. Price was moderate. Great evening. Five stars
Great food; poor wine. Would come back for the food, but the wine is a problem.
The food was excellent. There were 8 of us at dinner and most of us ordered something different. Everybody loved what they ordered. Will definitely return and happy they are in our neighborhood!!
Perfect little Italian restaurant for a first date. Swift service. Food tasted like I was in Italy. perfect portion size. Cute and cozy and clean. I loved it and will come back!!
Food is absolutely delicious, highly recommend!
This quaint and charming find took me back 40 years this my Italian great grandmothers “summer kitchen”. Service was very personal - food was outstanding in presentation and flavor. Non-elegant and cozy “Italian cuccinina” make this a cozy and relaxed must-do.
Outstanding food, cozy ambiance, and owner Pietro and his son Stefano, the chef, treated my family as if their own. They shared wine and chatted with us after our dinners, which were excellent. Desert was terrific; the gelato was exceptionally creamy & light. The tiramisu was possibly the best I’ve ever had. Overall a delightful evening, we will be back.
A local hole in the wall neighborhood Italian bistro with a casual but very comfortable cafe style ambience. Great authentic pasta dishes and also grills for any GF eaters.
Wouldn’t recommend it for formal settings (the venue is not designed or intended for it) but the food and demeanor of the staff is high quality.
The service was relaxed which may be a burden for the impatient and famished. The food was worth the wait though.
The restaurant moved from its bigger location on Connecticut. The new venue is smaller and informal. The food was still good, but it’s definitely not the place for a special occasion celebration!
Perfect for our family while visiting DC. Glad we gave it a try. Gelato not to be missed!
