Bar Celona in Pasadena is a modern Spanish restaurant that features a bar designed specifically for customers who crave tapas. There are countless varieties of these popular appetizers. Get yours with grilled chicken, albondigas (meatballs), Serrano ham-wrapped dates, charred lamb sausage, beef pincho and more. You can also get yours with various dips and olives at Bar Celona, too.
The menu here also includes pizza options like cheese, barbeque chicken, pepperoni, vegetarian and three Spanish sausage. You can also get these options on flatbread at Bar Celona. Come in on Wednesday nights and you will be able to enjoy live music with your meal.
We've been coming here fore may years, mostly for the happy hour music on Wednesday night. The food is pretty standard Italian fare, but very well made and presented. The staff always treat us well.
Our server was friendly and accommodating. It was the night before the Rose Parade so it was pretty packed. The restaurant was well decorated. For some reason we weren't allowed to order from the tapas menu that night. I think it was a special event night. So that was a bummer. But the food we got was pretty good. I had the penne with vodka sauce. Good portions.
We live in Las Vegas and are new to Old Pasadena. I originally made the New Year's Eve reservation for two of us for 8:30 p.m. Then I changed it to 7:00. Then I changed it to 6:00. At each change the people at Sorriso were very nice and helpful. On such a busy night before the Rose Parade and Game, I expected at least a little chaos, but this restaurant handled us very well. The prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. We will certainly return even though there are many restaurant choices in charming Old Pasadena.
I hadn't been here in a while so I was surprised to see the mixed Italian fare with the usual tapas to which I was accompanied. Despite the change, the food was still amazing, and highly recommended.
The tapas are still good but the Italian pesto pasta special was pretty bad.... Don't discontinue the Bar Celona menu!
The food was excellent. Vegetable risotto over spinach, A+.
The food was very good. The waiter was helpful. We enjoyed it very much.
Food was okay but not the best as had before. It was a nice ambiance but without great food this could have been the olive garden. Very disapointed as this was a business dinner and my guest took her food home...ie a doggie bag for the dog?
We dined here with a group of ladies celebrating a birthday. We spent about 2 1/2 hours here wining and dining! Our server was very polite and patient with us. He was knowledgeable of the menu and gave us recommendations. We brought in our own bottle of wine and he was eager to pour us all a glass and told us not to worry about a corkage fee! We also had a few very strong cocktails which were delicious. We all enjoyed our pasta dishes. The restaurant is a little tight so I would not recommend this for large groups. It got a little noisy once the bar next door started but otherwise a great night out!
The food was excellent, they had a singer and he was amazing. The restaurant was cozy and romantic and I'm planning to go back next week with a group of women.
