The dining experience was wonderful. We ordered the Chef’s Tasting Menu, which included several vegan options. The food was delightful, and such a wonderful experience. Thank you for the incredible meal.

I appreciate the farm to table concept—but I was not a fan of the dishes in our tasting. I left having not eaten much at all. The wine pairings were good and the server was attentive. Would not return.

We had very special references for this restaurant from our friends in NYC, said we HAD to eat here! Fortunately they allowed us to sit at the tasting bar and as chance would have it Chef Jackson and Trevor, a very capable and super knowledgeable associate served us for the evening. Although he said he really hadn’t planned out a tasting menu he’d surely put something together if we were willing to go along with what he could come up with…gladly we said! That’s what we love to do anyway, much more fun and educational when you get to watch firsthand, some one really good at what they do as a craft. Also they chose wine pairing as well. Wonderfully long story short…WOW! 6 courses and dessert, perfectly paired wines! Fantastic! His unique food/ingredient selections and pairings were spot on and of the three restaurants we chose over three days, this experience was by far our favorite! He was very interesting and informative and frankly we could have sat there all night talking with them about food and wine! This is not a fancy place, it’s small (fills up quickly, plan accordingly) and delightfully kitschy, everyone is super friendly, we had a fabulous time and will surely drive down from New Jersey once again, explicitly to dine with him and his staff! The menu changes nearly every day, so go with the flow and enjoy! Sorry I don’t have pics of all courses, I was having so much fun, I forgot! Check the menu just before you go and ask what’s new that day! Sorry.

Came to Charleston on a whim and stayed in an Airbnb steps from here. Was looking for a vegan option so was excited to try this place. Every small plate we had was excellent and so fresh. Oysters amazing, mussels amazing, parsnips Amazing! Gnocchi was really good a different flare than any gnocchi I have had but excellent.

Came into town a day early and stumbled on this hidden gem. Sure glad we did as it has easily moved to the top of our list of favorite Charleston restaurants! Better than FIG ( sorry not sorry). Chef is an absolute genius and it’s a beautiful little, unpretentious, mind blowing meal. Add it to your list and make sure to get the Beets for dessert… trust us.

A little off the beaten path and well worth the walk through a couple of blocks in the neighborhood. Wife is vegan and I am not and we had more creative and fun food than we could hold! Go ahead and just let the chef cook for you personally via the 6 course! Enjoy... we did!

A menu item described to be "roasted" as clearly fried and this was even verified by the server. When we advised we wouldn't have ordered the item knowing such, the server didn't even offer to comp the item on our bill.

The rutabaga dessert was Michelin level and every other dish stunned. So happy we got to experience this space and it’s staff. It is something special!! Also fun wine list!

First time dining at Sorghum and Salt. The menu was intriguing so we opted for the Chef’s 4-course tasting menu. They easily accommodated my food allergies. Each dish was creative and delicious. We are at many nice restaurants in four cities on our trip and this was our favorite, by far.

Flavors are off the charts! Absolutely amazing. Some reviews commented on small portions but we found one shared small plate and two large plates were plenty for the two of us. They serve European portions, not American portions! The decor belies the food experience. They should ditch the "industrial" scheme (which would be fine for a basic burger and beer joint) and go "modern chic" or something that is worthy of what the kitchen is putting out. Highly recommend Sorghum and Salt!

Food was delicious. Service was great. My husband and I love small plates. We had the heirloom tomatoes, the fresh ricotta, the scallops, the gnocchi, and the short ribs. Would order all of them again! The white chocolate mousse was delicious. Lovely local beer selection. We left comfortably full. We were seated by the window which I liked, but so did the fly that snuck in. The seat shape was a tad uncomfortable for wide bottomed people. Great food and great time, would go again if we return to the area!

..coming into Charleston we’d researched places to dine and this restaurant was at the top of the list - and for very good reason. If you are seeking something different, delectable and out outright delicious, you can not go wrong with Sorghum and Salt. Every course of our meal was simple, thoughtful and mouth watering - like nothing we have ever experienced. The owner and chef is amazingly talented at bringing dishes to live inside your spirit for a long time after you’ve experienced them. He made watermelon dance, potatoes sing and the beet juice dessert literally ran away with my heart like a great lover lost. It’s a cool quiet vibe - RICH with one of a kind decor. Please do yourself a favor.. take a bike taxi one evening and enjoy one of the best places to dine in Charleston. You will not be disappointed.

My favorite place to eat, when you go it's not to eat but for the experience. It is definitely a chefs restaurant with a chef that takes it very seriously. All of the produce used is from the Charleston area. The service was great and always had everything I needed, I have seen other reviews where people complained because they thought since the quality of the food was so high they expected better from service or so they say. The restaurant it self has a very industrial feel. I really enjoy the chef's counter where you can watch all the food be made and talk to the chef's about the dishes. This is definitely not a place to go to every week unless you have the money. It is a place that is worth every penny, if you have the money!

We experienced tastes we have never tasted before. . . that is hard since we have eaten at some really great places around the world. Dove, our server/chef, was outstanding and the service was a 10! We HIGHLY recommend it!
