   The service was good and the food was excellent. However the menu is pretty limited; it would be nice to have more selections. Also the prices were higher than what we're used to, even for an upscale restaurant.

   Didn’t realize till we looked at the menu what your menu prices are since they’re not listed on your website. 2 bowls of stew with water to drink, plus tip was $80!!! We won’t be coming back!

   Menu has gone downhill and no Easter specials or brunch offered. Some lecture circuit started setting up in the dining room as we were trying to have a fun Easter lunch. Very odd dining experience!

   I food was ok. The charred broccolini was under cooked. The quinoa was soggy instead of light and fluffy. The breakfast potatoes were over cooked and dark some were burnt. The omelet was delicious and the berry cobbler was delicious.

   My husband and I went on a much needed date night, this was our first time there. The ambiance was perfect with a local musician playing- he was great! The food was delicious and exactly what I had been looking forward to. We had the fondue, salmon and the gnocchi and finished it off with bread pudding (to go... We were stuffed!) Everything exceeded our expectations.

   Valentine’s Day dinner was a wonderful evening in the cozy Sorenson’s Cafe. Food was especially delicious with some wonderful choices on the prix fixe holiday menu. We chose the prime rib, but the tomahawk pork chop, seafood risotto and eggplant parmesan on other tables looked fantastic! (Reservations a must since the dining room is tiny. Our table wasn’t available until 20 minutes after our reservation, but the host generously offered us a glass of wine or bubbly while we waited.) Will definitely plan to return even though Sorensen’s is at least a 30 minute drive from our house!

   We stopped for a family dinner on our way home from a busy, social weekend at Kirkwood. The dining room is rustic cozy. We had great conversations over great food - warm, delicious stew, seared ahi, homemade pastas. The desserts were amazing. Parents and kids were all happy. Prices are a bit high, but they seem high everywhere these days. The intimate atmosphere and wonderful food were worth it.

    The food here has changed for the worse! It's horrendous! I highly recommend bringing your food to your cabin if you have a kitchen. If not, just travel out for something else.

    Cozy ambience, and a couple of creative things on a mostly crowd-pleasing menu. We would have preferred more distilled/stronger flavors in the pasta but overall dishes were good. It’s the best place to eat around. For some reason they were out of most of the red wines by the glass but our friendly server offered an alternative. Will definitely eat there again next time I’m on the Carson pass.

    Some dishes, like the gnocchi with mushrooms, were quite good while others - the ahi melt and pot pie - were mediocre. Prices were quite high - for example $37. for the gnocchi. There’s not much else around so they have a captive market!

    We stayed at Wylder's through a snowstorm, and ate all our meals at the cafe - a total 1 breakfast and 3 dinners. We picked different things each time, and it was ALL delicious, served with genuine warmth and care. Thanks!

    We been coming here for years and the place has preserved its original feel. While I appreciate the historical atmosphere and value the tables have I think that the tables can use an upgrade to make them safer. My son found himself hooked to the table hardware and it’s placement obstructed the comfort of the person sitting by it. On our last visit our meal was just OK in comparison to our summer outing when our meal as extraordinary. We will return, but will for sure skip the indoor dinning area until the tables are made safer

    The food at Sorenson's has always been wonderful, but the past few times we ate there it was a disappointment. The salmon was overcooked, the stew (that they are so well known for) was not up to par...the "broth" was so thick it was almost inedible, the ahi tuna melt was so overcooked you could barely eat the tuna. Sorenson's has a great reputation and has been a loved staple of Hope Valley and I hope they can work on these issues and get back to their glory.

    the food was good and the ambience nice, but we had terrible service. We couldn't get the waiter's attention and finally left without ordering dessert because the wait was.endless. We will never go there again and we used to go there often as we live locally.

    The Thanksgiving pre fixe was great. Restaurant and bar staff were pros. Next night the food was mediocre at best. Trout extremely overcooked. Kale side dish had zero flavor. The band was just ridiculously too loud for that small outdoor tent.

    Nice place to hang out (though cold because seated in drafty tent rather than indoors and snowing lightly). Service was very good.. I had hoped with the increase in cost the food might have improved in kind, but the menu is pretty much the same as always, which is inconsistent within menu options (some very good, some just ok). So it felt overpriced for meal. I do recognize the difficulty of procuring food in that location, and respect that. Also must say that is appreciated that there is a restaurant open in that area and it is a lovely place.

    My parents enjoyed coming to Sorensen's each year up until several years ago when health issues & Covid prevented them from traveling. They have fond memories of the staff, food, and ambiance. This year my parents wanted to go back but are unable to drive themselves, so my husband, son, and I offered to accompany them. We made reservations several weeks in advance to coincide with the fall colors. When we arrived, the greeter was discourteous and informed me that the only seating available was outdoors in the tent and the only restrooms were porta-potties at the far end of the gravel parking lot. Although this was disappointing as our reservations were for inside the cafe, we had driven 2 1/2 hours to get there so we didn't want to leave without eating. The wait staff was inattentive; never refilled waters, coffee, or even checked on us. My mom received a side dish that was not what she ordered and although the server apologized for the mix-up, she didn't bring the correct item. The stew, homemade potato chips, and desserts were tasty, but the rest of the food was just mediocre. The cost of the food was high for what we received (even taking into account the extra cost involved in getting items to the remote location, the current economy, and additional staffing costs incurred due to worker shortages). We drove down to the porta potties before leaving since there was no way for my parents with limited mobility to get to them by walking. One of the two had no toilet paper and the vault contents were within 8" of the toilet rim. The disabled access one was set at a tipped back angle and was difficult for someone with limited mobility to navigate. Although we all enjoyed spending time together, my parents were incredibly disappointed in the entire experience and I doubt that they will want to return given the lackluster food, disinterested/rude staff, and the unappealing tent/bathroom situation. Heartbreaking that fond memories will be tarnished by this experience.

    We got off to a bit of a slow start for our outdoor brunch reservation. The outdoor temp. had dropped & it was raining & they didn't have their outdoor tent warmed & ready to use. Once they had that figured out & we were seated, it was cozy & had lovely atmosphere. Our brunch was delicious & our server was adorable & friendly. Would definitely go back!

    Upon arrival we nobody greeted us and we could not find anyone to assist us. After we spoke to a lady, from the hotel, she said the hostess stand is outside. She told us to go outside and wait... someone will assist you soon. We waited in the cold weather, after a minute or two a lady arrived. We told her that we had reservation... she replied with "OK", never asking our name. [Only later on, I told the waitress about our reservation. She told me she would mark our arrival.] As Lake Tahoe locals and returning customers, we really had much higher expectations for Wylder. We had a service animal, so once again a very uneducated person (the hostess) insisted on sitting us outside. It was cold and the outdoor heaters were not working. The waitress was the one who moved us to a better table (still outside), but there was a space heater and blankets. The food was just OK, not really very good. We ate around half of the meal and we left extremely disappointed with this overall mess. If this is how they treat Lake Tahoe locals, I can only imagine what a horrible experience a tourist must have here. We WILL NOT be returning.

    We've always enjoyed eating here, sitting either outside or inside. Unfortunately sitting outside was not an option due to no propane for their heaters, and it was cold. Also, even with reservations, we had to wait 30+ min. to be seated. And the only place to wait and sit was outside in the cold. Very small dining room which we were aware of, but had a coughing child in the table next to us. But, food was very tasty!

    What a wonderful gem! The ambiance amongst the changing aspens was incredible, the food terrific and great service. We had to share our meal with all the bees outside, but otherwise it was great. Only thing that could be improved was the bathroom - only one bathroom for the restaurant and it was not clean.

    One of our favorite places in the Tahoe area! They have a wonderful large patio for seating -- it can get cold in mid-October, but they have heat lamps and blankets. We had great service and the food was divine!

    Sorenson's is a very cute rustic peaceful place to have lunch. It's a really cute resort and campground and it would be a fun place to stay. Eating outside, the weather was perfect and the leaves were in fall color, however, the meat bees are a pain. Bring dryer sheets if you decide to eat outside.
