Sorellina - Traverse City
Super service and ambiance
We thought the restaurant was great, but we felt like our server was rushing us. She asked us twice if we had Chosen our drinks as we looked over the wine list and as soon as we ordered the wine she asked us twice if we were ready to order. I was thinking it might be because they were expecting a crowd but when I asked if they were busy she responded that no, this was their slow time. If I had known I would have asked her to slow down her service but it was too late at that point.
Had great service from Alex. Thank you for a lovely meal.
Food and service are good. Wish there was a special or two off the menu but there was not. Happy hour has great prices. In town location is great.
Excellent food, fresh ingredients, moderately priced. Like being able to make reservations during busy periods.
We have been coming to Sorellina every year for the last 5 for a pre Iceman Cometh dinner. Second time at the new location. We love the overall ambience, food and offerings of this restaurant, but was a little disappointed this visit with two of our 6 meals. One entree was removed from bill it was that subpar. Thinking it was a fluke evening as usually, Sorellina's delivers. We are thinking about trying Slate next door next year just for a change-up. Same owners but Slate is a steak place.
Our meal was very good as usual but our waiter was very opinionated as to what we should eat from the menu. One of our guest ordered and dish and was told I would not order that, that he should order another selection. We found it to be a little rude.
My girlfriend and I came in out of town and decided to make a reservation here. Food was delicious and management was great as soon as we walked in but our server was very inattentive. Dessert was great and our pasta dishes were amazing. Very busy so it was pretty loud but still romantic for two.
nice ambience, food is average at best, price doesn’t match quality of food
Anniversary date. We had the Marsala pasta with grilled chicken and it did NOT disappoint! Amazing flavor and zing! Delicious! We also had the baked Brie which was complimented nicely with a flavorful tomato based sauce and served with warm grilled crostini! I also have to add the the glass of Pinot Noir was smooth and delightful!❤️❤️❤️ We will definitely remember this night!
PS- see photos attached to tell you what we thought of their peanut butter mousse dessert!😉
Received wrong order. Not a lot of value for the price. Felt rushed through.
Frank was awesome!! Very knowledgeable of menu. Great service!
My main reason for recommending Sorellina is our server-Hannah. Hannah made the evening! She rescued my lukewarm mean and had it redone without batting an eye. It came back super hot and perfect! I even asked for a change in the pasta and Hannah said, "No problem!" My two fellow diners' meals were perfect as ordered, by the way. After we finished and were chatting with Hannah, she told us it was her first night as a server. We could not tell! Hannah was that polished and flawless! We have dined at Sorellina many times and will continue to do so...and we will request Hannah as our server. Our favs-Salsiccia Italiana, Chicken Carbonara and Chicken Piccata; which we ordered that respective evening. I would suggest one thing-more local wines by the glass, please.
First time at the new location, very nice, the food was very good as usual, no complants.
How do you mess up a Caprese salad? Answer: By trying to be too fancy. While we appreciate a chef putting new and interesting spins on things, Sorallina seems to try to be creative on everything. Sometimes it’s best to simply honor a tried and true classic.
Food was excellent - server was extremely patient and knowledgeable, Filet was amazing
It was our 19 year wedding anniversary, which I stated in the reservation. Our server never told us her name, never told us about any specials, didn’t ask if we had ever been there, nor asked if there was a special occasion. We probably would have ordered appetizers or salads but she never asked or tried to up-sell. We were sat in the back by the kitchen doors which was very noisy and not the best scenery. The food was fantastic, however our server made us feel like we were inconveniencing her and being sat near the kitchen was not a good experience for a special occasion.
Food was cold and sauces were watery
Very disappointing. We came in at 8 (they close at 9) and we felt very rushed. The waitress seemed overwhelmed and it was not a pleasant dining experience. The food was mediocre, with nothing notable.
There was a hair in our dipping oil which could be excused but the meal went downhill from there. I love garlic but the food was WAY too garlicky. We let the manager know we were disappointed in the dinner and she took off 2 of the 4 entrees. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the ambience however, none of us will return. Very sad since we were hoping to enjoy a special evening out (celebrating the family get-together after 3 years).
The ambience and service were very good. The pasta with marinara were done perfectly al dente with the perfect amount of hot chili. The eggplant Parmesan was good but a bit undercooked. The lasagna was a disappointment of a skillet of mostly ricotta. The Caesar salad was lightly dressed and crisp, No cappuccino. The wine list was very good with wines from Italy.
This was my second time back to Sorellina. I can’t wait to return and try more menu items!
They brought the wrong dish in one case, and although we were comped a dessert, when the bill came, we were charged for the wrong dish which was $10 more than what we had ordered.
Food was delicious, service was excellent and table was ready when we arrived for our reservation.
It was wonderful. Thank you!!
Low salted food. Comfortable, stylish ambiance. Great service.
My first time to Sorellina was when it was around the corner a few years ago and it was phenomenal Italian food and drinks....which I’ve been waiting to return to when back in TC. Finally I was coming back for a wedding so I promptly reserved a table for four to celebrate my Anniversary....sad to say it disappointed. The atmosphere was great, server was too but the food was just okay. The biggest thing I couldn’t get over was with a 400 plus bill no bread was served... very odd. Also no mention at all about our celebration from the waiter which was on my reservation....that would have been a nice touch but by no means a deal breaker! The just okay food and no bread with my beloved olive oil is a deal breaker. Makes me sad that such a wonderful place grew bigger, but lost its quality it had when smaller.
The food was good, and the atmosphere was nice — not too loud. However, the service was really slow. It was nearly 90 minutes from being seated to starting to eat our meal.
We choose to eat in the bar area and the bartender actually served us. He did a phenomenal job. Drinks we made well and delivered right on time, before our glasses were empty. He recommended the Brie appetizer and it was fantastic. Dinner entrees were very good and we both had to take a carry out. I will be back again.
In a city known as a “foodie haven” Sorellina’s rates as one of our very finest restaurants. Exceptional food and flawless service make this spot an eternal favorite for my family and friends.
The kitchen was a train wreck based on our evening.
Ericka was our server! She was outstanding and Brilliant. We live in TC, but have never been; this was our first, and certainly will not be our last~
Nice place to eat in downtown on the main street. We enjoyed the service; our food was good overall. Pasta sauce was a little heavy but had good flavor.
Our waitress Sam was wonderful!! She has personality plus. The chef is always accommodating with my dietary restrictions.
Salad was drowned in dressing, and the veal was tuff - very disappointing!
Enjoyable meal. Sat in a booth in the back. Quiet, and could carry on a conversation. We'll return.
Excellent cocktails. The risotto was so tasty. Just a bowl of warm, comfy goodness.
Service was great and ambience very nice. Food was very disappointing- not good at all
Very good Italian food but with a bit of a twist. Some classic dishes are not served in the tried and true Italian style. If you are a little more on the adventurous side you will enjoy the food here. Service was also very good. Prices are on the expensive side so we have only come here for special occasions.
Amazing restaurant!!! Everything was fast service, getting to the table, the food.. incredible! Best Calamari ever!
