Sorellina Ratings and Reviews
Server was terrible - we tried to cheer him up but at 5:30 he should have gone home. Miserable demeanor and not attentive.
Food we good but mostly not overly remarkable - with one exception - the pasta was excellent. I’m a low carb fan but appreciate exceptional pasta. We split the mushroom truffle Maffaletta pasta Half portion was not enough! I would go back for the pasta alone. Hopefully we draw a better waiter. Give Sorellina a try!
Great food! From appetizer to desert, the foods were original dishes that are unique to Sorellina and were exceptionally delicious. The seating was also very inviting and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Overall, we had a great culinary experience and will definitely return.
We were all quite impressed with our experience from beginning to end. It was my daughter's choice as it was her 40th birthday. The food was amazing! Our server was spectacular and his description of the menu items was spot on and very enticing as well. Such a great evening from start to finish!!
It had been many years since we had been to Sorellina. Perhaps I was more impressionable last time. The restaurant has held up well - still very handsome. Sound level was terrific - great for the hearing impaired folk at our table. Food was mixed- some very good, some only passable. I loved my octopus starter - enough for two which is always off-putting. My bronzino was tasteless. Besides, whole and grilled is the best preparation for this fish. Sorallina’s prep was sautéed fillets - over cooked. Others raved about their veal preparations, less so the salmon eaters. Service was correct, totally impersonal. Dessert? Can’t go wrong with chocolate ice cream. Tiramisu was left after one bite. My lemon dessert had lovely crisps but lacked zest. So I have to give dinner a C.
Food was wonderful. Service was superb. Needed to scoure wine list for something approachable. Sommelier should get over themselves and hunt for the jewels in the rough. Anyone can pick a diamond off a mountain of emeralds. Do the food justice with an approachable list.
Very Upset. Absolutely the worst possible service. We had to ask for everything....Food was delicious and wine list excellent but our server was in another world. The dining room was just flat with zero energy or passion. Too many other good options in the city to risk this. I suggest you move on.
Birthday salads were excellent main course disappointing my ribeye steak was very thin and they served it with a tablespoon of whipped potatoes just to taste I guess this place definitely over rated many places in Boston to get a superior steak for the same cost
We were pleased with the taste of the dinners we ordered...but, portions were much smaller than expected...not that we wanted HUGE portions of anything...but, it seemed, the dishes were oriented around artistic qualities rather than satisfying a diner's appetite expectation - even though we ordered appetizers, drinks, main courses and desserts. Second: The prices (although we recognized that they were rated $$$$) were much in excess or the quantity that we feel would satisfy a "normal" person.
Ambience, it seems, by good design, was well done...we were able to have conversations with one another without raising our voices...good on you Sorellina.
Our prime server was EXCELLENT - really knew his menu, really tended to us, friendly and efficient.
Bottom line: The food was well prepared, but inadequate to satisfy our "normal" appetite. Environment and service were excellent. Price was about 30% more than the experience would justify.
The menu does not have much variety, the food is very expensive, in small quantity. We ordered broccoli and they gave us a sauteed, spicy leaf (which was not Broccoli and tasted bad). We questioned the waiter, and he said that it was Broccoli and despite noting our dissatisfaction, did not suggest asking for anything else. We ordered Scallops, which were one of the most expensive dishes on the menu, and they were extremely salty. Besides the dishes come with little amount of food, we did not eat the "Broccoli" and could not eat all the Scallops. I would never come back there, and would never recommend to someone. It's not worth the price you pay.
The food is excellent and this is one of our favorite restaurants in Boston. We try to go at least once a month and take the family. The highlights are the tuna, meatballs, gnochi and the truffle fries. They added gluten free pasta last year and this is probably the best gluten free penne I have had at any restaurant.
Walked into the restaurant and was greeted immediately. The dining area is gorgeous very contemporary design. The waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing when asked for suggestions was very quick to offer some good choices.
Food was delicious, arriving at a comfortable pace, not rushed. Would highly recommend.
