On the heart of the growing American Street ,, in the NextFab warehouse,,, great free parking and plenty of it,,, Outdoor seating is like a Mexican village,, with plenty of still fabricated art work as partitions ,,, tacos and service were great interesting drinks ,,, just a cool space with cool food
Service was perfect. Server Mya/Mia was amazing! She made our experience a lot of fun and enjoyable. Staff was very patient with us for being a late reservation. Food & drinks were amazing as always. Thank you for a great evening!
Great little spot with delicious food and very good service
Love it . Great food and they have a parking lot which makes it so convenient .
Inventive Mexican food in a really nice atomsphere.
*SO* great!! Sor Ynez is one of my new favorite Philly restaurants! We *love* that there are so many inventive and interesting and delightful vegan options on the menu. (Some of our party is vegan, some vegan-ish, and 1 member not vegan. We love that your menu has fantastic choices for all of us!) Also, the space is gorgeous and comfortable and feels very safe during these pandemic times. We will be back, for sure and are so happy to have found you!
Staff were attentive and friendly. I’ve been before for indoor dining but opted for outside which was also lovely. Thank you for requiring proof of vaccination indoors. I’m taking my daughter and her family soon and I’m really looking forward to that!
The perfect margarita on the rocks, not too sweet, and delicious food, especially the fish taco and the beef taco. Chef's kiss. Very nice service too.
The food was delicious, so fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere is also inviting.
Great ambiance, food tastes fresh and authentic. Lovely for date night!
This restaurant was like finding a diamond in the rough! We kind of just looked up restaurants in the area and boy did Sor Ynez deliver! The outdoor seating is gorgeous with different pops of color and the inside was just as fun. The food was wonderful and presented beautifully. They have something for everyone as they take great attention toward different diet types. Sor Ynez was one of the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. We will definitely be back!!
Honestly, everything was great from the cool vibe(outside) to the well distanced seating (cute little booths) to the decor (funky Mexican) to the service snd last but not lest the quality if the food. Awesome! We had cocktails that I can’t even explain but we’re delicious (I Gad the bourbon tamarind one and my husband had a craft beer from Mexico). There were four of us and everything we ate was phenomenal- like the queso fundido- a typical Mexican app but topped with sushito peppers that we fought over, the guac, the tlacoyo yum. My husband had the heritage pork which he is still raving about and my friends snd I had the shrimp al ajillo which is more like arroz con camarones with generous amount of shrimp with delicious toasty rice. Did I mention the cornbread with ice cream uh amazing. Weirdly though - the best part was being outside on a beautiful night enjoying all this with good friends. Can’t wait yo go back
Menu looks very promising but everything was under seasoned and was generally flavorless. Queso fundido came out congealed - we needed to use a knife to get it out of the bowl. It was also overpriced. Paid nearly $100 for a few bad cocktails, tacos, and appetizers.
Long waits and overpriced, but the food was good quality. Beware of the mushroom carnitas tacos cause they get the tortilla soggy immediately, and it’s a disaster to eat. Do get the chips and salsa!!
The spot was amazing...and for that alone I will go back. But I hope the service improves. We were one of 3 tables in the whole place and the time it took to even get a drink was brutal...10 mins for 1 marg, even a wait for a beer was too long. That aside it did slow down the night and made us feel relaxed and in no rush.
Seems like they’re still working through kinks. Guac and salsa were great, tacos were dry, drinks were too expensive and very light on the alcohol. Servers were sweet, but forgot a number of requests. I think with some improvements it will be a great place!
We appreciated the stellar service and delicious food, and we chose the venue specifically because staff, and customers dining inside, have to produce proof of COVID vaccination.
Getting chips and salsa took an hour from when we sat down, despite ordering pretty much immediately (we were excited for this dinner and showed up hungry). Food was very good but took so long to get it and our server was very nice but nowhere to be found. It was late enough by the time we were wrapping up dinner that there was no coffee to end the meal - it was on the menu but our server said they didn't have any. Food was great but pacing left something to be desired.
Terrific meal with friends. The outside space is lovely; to have parking and to be so far away from traffic outside in the city is wonderful! Food was terrific. Esquites, sikil pak, guacamole, chips all wonderful. I had enchiladas estilo Michoacán and they were good, sauce excellent. Filling itself a little on the bland side but that was fine. Every raved about their meals.
Delicious food, cool vibes! The braised beef shoulder tacos with the consome were amazing ! Great cocktails for mezcal lovers!
so many delicious vegan options, including churros!
The service was very good, and I liked my guava non-alcoholic drink. Our server, Andrea, is nice and helpful and told us about how long they have been open. I had the cauliflower burrito and my wife had the mushroom tacos. The guacamole could have used some addition salt, lime, and cilantro but was great.
Too hip. The food wasn't great and the menu is trying too hard to be en vogue instead of mastering how to make good mexican food first.
We loved our dinner at Sor Ynez. I live in South Philly and my parents came to visit from out of state for the weekend. I looked up new spots all around the city, and selected Sor Ynez for what seemed like a nice vibe and good menu. We were extremely happy on all accounts! I've been telling friends about it, and plan to return soon.
Interesting food comfortable outdoor setting
Great outdoor seating. Ambiance was relaxed. Food and drinks were tasty.
Superb vegan and meat friendly options. Staff is delightful and outdoor patio is lovely. Highly recommended!
The food was high for such a small portion and they automatically take gratuity from you out your check even if your server was terrible
Nope. Don't go. It was such a terrible experience. I haven't a clue how anyone has ever enjoyed this place. The food has zero flavor, the drinks are awful, and you could grow wrinkles waiting for service.
Excited to see a great restaurant like this one pop up in this area! The food and drinks were amazing.
Had trouble getting our server. We were seated for about 40-46 minutes and server hadn’t come by to say hello. Told the hostess twice. Finally asked fir the manager who promptly corrected the situation. They are short staffed like any restaurant right now, so we understand. All was fine after that.
Finding a restaurant in Philly with parking! That’s worth five stars, FYI.
Excellent food and service. A must return. Great flavors
Good food and atmosphere. It was too hot to eat outside, but there is a really neat looking, fairly large outdoor dining area.
Sor Ynez is a great option for vegan & vegetarian Mexican food in Philly. We ordered the jamaica and mango (nice chili sauce, crisp fresh fruit & veggies), alt pastor burrito (good size burrito, tasty fillings and not too big), and enchiladas (great veggie filling and excellent rice came with it). Overall, food was good but not the best. We got two cocktails which were great. Servers were almost too attentive and it made the meal feel a little rushed. But we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.
Great food, service, theme and respect for Mexican culture, food, chefs, artisans and history.
We were unaware that they had a brunch menu, but delighted that they did! Regular menu (mostly) was available as well. Friendly, attentive, but not intrusive, service. Food was outstanding! Drinks were great. We ate indoors, but a lovely, inviting outdoor space available. Free parking! Highly recommend this restaurant!
Overall it was a pleasant dining experience. We opted to sit indoors based on the available outdoor seating. Outdoors was charming and well laid out for Covid but there was only one table available at the time of our reservation and we just weren’t keen on the location. Indoors was also cute but a different vibe. Not in a bad way just felt like two different dining experiences. Staff was pleasant and helpful in guiding us through potential selections. A bit under staffed but I’d imagine that will pick up eventually. Wait time from being seated to getting our initial drink order was about 15 minutes. We decided to order our drinks, appetizers and meals in one go since it seemed a bit busy. We enjoyed every bit of food that we tried. There was an appetizer with jicama and other root veggies along with mango that was unique and refreshing. Our drinks were just Ok. Too much ice. We tried the guava and passion fruit margaritas that weren’t on the menu but are available. In terms of the food, what we got was simple, really well executed dishes, that were flavorful and fresh. We would come back.
The food and staff were so great. Service was a little slow but it could be for any number of reasons. Our server was really nice and tried to be so attentive. Overall such a great little night out!
We loved how each dish was a work of art. The drinks were so refreshing. We have been to Sor Ynez twice in a month and we don’t intend to stop going. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
