Such a neighbourhood gem!!! The pasta and pizza were both delicious!! They also use pasta as straws; love the eco-friendly touch! This is my second time here and it definitely won’t be my last (especially now that it’s on OpenTable).
They could not honor our reservation, and then they don’t answer my calls when attempting to reschedule a new one.
Delicious food and great happy hour options! Our server was really friendly!
Pasta was al dente and pizza was perfect - definitely a must try. We will make it a regular hangout.
The service was not as good as the location on Hastings Street.
It wasn’t that super busy either at the resto.
One of my favourite spots in Vancouver! The pizza is amazing, as is all the homemade pasta!
It’s true Neapolitan pizza, so the middle is a bit soft and chewy (how I love it) but they can always cook it a bit more for those who like it a bit more crunchy. Whenever they have Burrata anything - order it. Seriously always amazing!
Staff is wonderful and very welcoming. Both locations (Burnaby and Vancouver) are awesome.
Food here was exceptional. Happy hour choices were great. Service needed improvement. We had a reservation but were ignored when we arrived. Two parties seated before us so I had to ask to be seated.
Food was overall amazing and the modern feel was great. Dishes were slightly salty but that might be because I ate a bit too much. Would definitely recommend others in the neighbourhood to try.
Very bright vibrant space with staff that speak of Their peers there as “family”. Casual dining prices with a high end menu.
Impeccable service and the best pizza in town! Would highly recommend.
The place was busy, not enough staff to go around. Waited forever for someone to take our order. Even for a drink.
Staff are friendly, but worked off their feet. Food isn’t cheap, when you consider it’s basically a pizza and pasta place. Food is very good , but serving could be bigger.
We really love the food the fun and the location
If only it wasn’t such a noisy room
Can’t really talk to anyone except the person sitting next to you
Food was delicious and the service was great! Tried this place out a couple weeks ago with work peers and came back for a nice Mother’s Day dinner. Will definitely be back.
Best pizza I can remember, particularly as I ordered it gluten free. We went for lunch - very nice.
Bright and airy setting with tasty options. A good choice for lunch or a light dinner
The food is excellent, I especially like the pasta dishes with house made pasta. The service was very poor. This restaurant is very noisy.
I have visited numerous Neapolitan-style restaurants and I must say the house-mad dough is the best I’ve had! Perfect to a tee! Great food, great service! Will be returning regularly.
Beautiful food! Everyone in our party was wowed and supremely satisfied. Attentive and friendly service. Good value. Lots of gluten free options as well as copious traditional gluten. We are already looking forward to coming again.
It was good, unfortunately you guys did not have your best salad , nor the wine we wanted from previous experience.
Everything was great! a fun place that provides great people watching, wonderful food and drinks.
Food was good but service was really sub par. I made a note that it was my birthday—no server made any mention to wish me happy birthday. My friends both ordered the porchetta dish. One was forgotten and was not given anything extra to make her feel better, and the late one received the wrong one too, one without eggplant that my first friend ordered. Overall the food and ambience was great, but please kick up your customer service by a few notches.
The moment you walk in the noise level us so loud that we knew we were outdoors not be able to have a good conversation with our in-laws without yelling. You do get use to it after awhile, the food and service made up for the noise. Everything we ordered was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food was good. Friendly host and service. Food took longer than it should. Burrata and bread too 25 mins and we had to remind our server. Despite that, I would go back for the pizza.
A group of 7 of us met ... it was so loud we couldn’t even hear the person beside us. This was on a Wednesday evening; I can’t imagine what the weekend is like. Pizza was good, but it’s just as good at Via Tevare, Lombardo’s, Famoso.
The food is DELICIOUS! I ordered the pasta with truffles and mushrooms and it was really tasty and had a beautiful texture. I had a birthday party here with 10 people and they were very accommodating. My friend bought a cake and they were able to store the cake in their fridge for us and provided us with plates and utensils for the cake. It's a loud, lively environment so maybe not the best place to go if your throat is sore and don't feel like yelling. When my friends sang happy birthday to me the whole restaurant ended up singing. There was another bday party for a 70 year old, so this place is really friendly for all ages. The decor is beautiful and the washroom is beautiful and clean. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about food and wine. I would definitely come again!
We love going to Sopra Sotto for date nights. Great food, hmm the fresh pasta and pizza. Always friendly service and great atmosphere
Food and service was top notch ... noise might have been higher than anywhere I've been in recent memory. I thought the Hawthorne in Cloverdale was loud, but it doesn't come close to Sopra Sotto. Good times.
This restaurant feels like a bright chain restaurant one might find at an airport or something very public. Ambience does not exist. Big cafeteria kinda feeling. Menu limited. Not an Italian experience that i would recommend. Vegetarian appetizer was boring. Pizza was okay. Pasta was passable. Just okay everything .. nothing was Wow at all. Disappointed overall.
Our server was fantastic!
Really enjoyed our experience. The place was hopping with a great vibe. A bit too noisy for us baby boomers who are a little hard of hearing so wouldn't recommend it for older folks. We only had an hour to eat before the theatre and our server made all efforts to serve us in time - and did.
We felt rushed during our experience at the restaurant and got the impression that they wanted us out so they could seat the next party. We shared two pizzas between the four of us. There was a slice of pizza still on one of the serving plates and the server started clearing our plates. I had to stop her and tell her that we were still eating. Not super impressed with the experience.
Doesn't compare to Via Tevere but is more expensive.
Server was awesome food was awesome atmosphere was awesome ☺️
We got the burrata board that was their special for the night. The burrata was the most creamiest burrata We have ever had and the garlic focaccia paired excellent with it. I got the Tagliatelle e Tartufo which was delicious! The homemade pasta and truffle mushroom sauce really made the dish spectacular. We will definitely be coming back!
I recommend making reservations as the restaurant gets full very quickly!
Food was fantastic
First time visiting and would definitely go back. The pizza was delicious. The crust had the perfect amount of chew. Well priced wine list.
Great food and service. Very loud!
Food was delicious. Our server was attentive, personable and knowledgeable of the wines they offer. He helped us choose a wine that everyone in my party enjoyed.
The food was tasty and we had ambe time in between courses to digest and savour. Even though the restaurant was busy we did not feel rushed to leave.
We would definitely go again.
Staff was pleasant - both the person greeting us and the server were welcoming and friendly. Service was good, but occasionally slow at times. It would be a nice touch to change plates after the appetizers.
We tried the Dine Out Menu. The antipasto misto was a complete miss for us - flavours were bitter, pickled/sour, and extremely salty. Very oily. 1/5. The porchetta e verdure was much more palatable - not too salty - but at the same time, no flavours that grab or wow you. 3/5. The focaccia reminded me more of a slightly bitter naan bread than a focaccia. 2.5/5
The tagliatelle e tartufo was good albeit with a hint of bitter taste, much like from a wine reduction or a sharp cheese. Generous with mushrooms. 3.5/5. The caserecce in Sunday Sugo was also okay - could barely detect any tomato sauce, but I don't mind a sauceless pasta. Shortrib meat was also reasonable in quantity and flavour - simple and savoury but not outstanding in any way. 3.5/5
Dessertwise, the cioccolato e fragola was another flop. The cake was pebbly and pasty, and again, slightly bitter, leaving a lot to be desired in terms of texture and taste. The strawberries were not fresh but appeared and tasted rather as if they had been sitting in a fridge for a few days, stewing in their own non-sweet juice. The vanilla gelato didn't help either. 1/5. The tiramisu was so-so. It was okay in terms of freshness, but lacked any real appeal. The chocolate bits interfered with what is usually a smooth mixture. 2.5/5
Even the cafe latte did not suit my tastebuds. It was more like a somewhat bitter espresso with some milk added. 2.5/5
Portions for all were decent except maybe the latte.
Ambience was casual and unpretentious. High ceilings make the room feel airy and spacious but tables felt close together.
You might like the food if you tend to like a slightly bitter/pungent kick to your dishes.
I took my friend for lunch for her birthday.
She ordered coffee first and there was no milk. Then we ordered fruitta mista and they didn't have seafoods. Very disappointing.
They finally had milk after our meal was done. We both had coffee. As courtesy, coffee on the house just for my friend would have made our experience differently. That's how customers come back even after a bad experience.
