Sophie's Steakhouse Soho
Fantastic meal, would thoroughly recommend!
We really enjoyed the food, in particular the sirloin steak and the crispy squid, and the cocktails were fabulous! Unfortunately it did take us rather a long time to be served once we were seated and service for drinks / the bill was very slow between courses as well. The location is great and the vibe inside is very cool. Would definitely return despite the slow service this time round.
Food was excellent
Service very slow and unfriendly despite 12.5 percent gratuity added to bill
Big roast dinners were the highlight of our visit to Sophie’s. The wait staff were very friendly and the decor really interesting. The place had a nice vibe and service was quick. A couple of us had dietary requirements and the staff were really knowledgeable about what we couldn’t and couldn’t have - there were plenty of options.
We slipped into the Soho restaurant for a Sunday lunch and were very happy that we did so. Excellent food (we had the shared steak) and the service was excellent and un-rushed. We had a long chat with one of the waiters, Simone, about music, who was really friendly and knowledgeable.
We normally spend no more than 30-40 mins in a restaurant on an afternoon, but must have been there for at least 90 minutes. We'll be back.
One of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Great service.
Sides are not as good as the meat though and the music is too loud - the room needs some acoustic treatment to stop the whole thing from becoming a cacophony!
First visit and not disappointed! Great food, drinks, atmosphere, service, attention to detail when discussing allergies etc. Will definitely return
Absolutely lovely! Definitely worth the visit. Set menu is great and the steak was cooked to perfection. Lovely open plan restaurant with plenty going on.
I went to Sophie's with some friends of mine not too long ago.
The place was nice and also the service was good.
We ordered calamari to share for 3 people but were not informed about the size of the portion what was disappointing as we ended up having a 1 piece and an half each. Then we had 2 beef short ribs what was one more dissapointment - outside was burned, meat was dry and very little. This is one of my favourite dishes which I order most of the time when dining out and usually the portion is much bigger for the same price.
Have been told the ribs are good as well
Perfect venue for our farewell dinner to our friend. Attentive staff, nice vibe and good food
We arrived and were told that our OpenTable reservation wasn’t valid because OpenTable doesn’t actually plug into their own reservation system... luckily we still managed to get a table.
Good location. Service good.
Very expensive food, steak not well cooked at £69 for chateaubriand cut. Chips cold and undercooked, side salad limp and not fresh. Sadly the peppercorn sauce was so watery we didn’t touch it. A shame as restaurant great ambience but food average.
Great vibe. Delicious food and wine at a very reasonable price. My first visit with 5 girl friends. Lovely round sociable table. Will definitely return.
It was my first visit. I loved the design and the menu was good, hard to choose. We all had the Caesar salad which was delicious. I would definitely go back.
Wings were too crispy and dry although mackerel was fantastic. Thought steak was poor and a bit tough, tasted like it had been sitting out for a while too.
Had the Sunday Roast and it was lovely, can highly recommend
Meals has less quantity for the price it have. For example, we order a beef steak with vegetables to share between two... and the plate come with TWO slices of meat (no more than 50gr per each), one carrot, and one piece of bread.
Service was absolutely appalling. Waiter forgot to put sides through so meat mains went cold by the time the sides arrived. Waiter then went off on his break and no one covered his table. Waited over 30mins for dessert menu.
Food was very average. Probably wouldn’t even go again
We were a group of four, we had calamari, aubergine and chicken wings to share as starters - the calamari were delicious but tiny portion, the pita bread that comes with the aubergine was a total miss, the chicken wings very tasty, maybe a bit too sweet for some palates. As a main, we had two axe handle rib eyes to share. We asked for medium done but they came very well done. Luckily the quality of the meat was good, so we enjoyed them anyway. As side dishes we had portobello mushrooms, smoked new potatoes and creamed spinach, the spinach was particularly good. The food overall was a 7/10. Our waiter was friendly and chatty, but unfortunately in terms of the overall service and how the place was run, things weren't so good. We waited for at least half an hour to receive our drinks, they only arrived after we finished our starters. All the food was very slow to come, we waited for the steak for more than an hour. We were told this was because the cuts we chose were big and they required a long time to cook. The place is quite lively, with a good vibe to it, but because the accoustics of the place is not great, the background music seemed more like a noise which added to the overall noise of the people and it made conversations very difficult. Would we go back there? I don't know. It was average on all points, not too good, not too bad either.
We had a party of 4 celebrating a birthday ,we were so disappointed with the whole experience.
Steak was over cooked but the most worrying this was the chicken was under cooked which was confirmed by the chief, a replacement meal was provided and this was not changed for .
We did get an apology from the manager.
A little small gesture would have been nice ie : a complimentary drink but this was not offered .
Service charge was still added to our bill of nearly £200 .
Although perhaps not quite in league of Hawksmoor or Goodman, this was a good steak at a good price. I had fond memories from their old site by the Lion king and this site keeps the fun and flavour. Also very reasonable wine list helped enhance the experience
There is no salami compliment anymore. Chips are not skinny as they were. The seem to look and taste like any other chain restaurant. A bit disappointed. Service was excellent as always. And the restaurant has a nice ambience. Perfect for birthday or another celebration. Staff is very helpful and friendly. But it’s not the Sophie’s Steakhouse we k ow from Covent Garden and Chelsea. Xxx
the food was fantastic and it was the best cooked steak i have ever eaten. the service could of been a bit slicker but generally it was a great meal and i can't wait to go back again
Super food venue and service - we had a fab time
Really enjoyed our evening here. Food fabulous and service good too. Highly recommend it.
Our party of 3 shared appetizers and 2 entrees.standouts were the croqettes and barbecue chicken.Good wine selection.Very satisfied overall
Write a review ? Very easy, when you're in London, you MUST book @ Sophie's !!
The best roast I’ve ever had.
Chicken over cooked big portion but dry
Ran out of sides (potato) even though it was a Saturday early evening
Staff didn’t seem to care and paying what we did was very bad
Shame as it’s quite a cool place
Delicious steak and ribs, been before and we will definitely be coming again. Shame we don’t live locally!
Met up with some friends and have a lovely evening. Staff were attentive, the atmosphere was perfect and the small plates were very tasty. It is for all these reasons I will definitely be returning.
Good restaurant bbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbCcccccccccccccccccccccccc
Super nice atmosphere, we accidentally arrived 30 minutes late but it wasn’t a problem at all. Food and service good.
great ambiance, beautiful decor, delicious food, I will be back
Bad and expensive food. A whole chicken whiteout any tasty, worse than I can get in the market.
What an amazing year place, the service was amazing....the food was amazing....the location was perfect! Would 100% recommend!!!
Great food as always.
Great steaks and lovely interior. Quite pricey though.
It was a lovely venue, very big but a nice atmosphere,
We had the steak which tasted good and was cooked to order however the peppercorn sauce had little to no flavour and was more a watery gravy.
Considering the amount you pay for a steak, that is all you got, a steak with watery flavourless sauce not even a hint of a leaf or vine tomato or anything. So you are left paying even more for sides, I get it’s london but still not really value, I’ve had better steaks at Miller and carter and at least they include the sides in the price.
The waiter had zero personality and was very quick to take stuff of the table whether we were finished or not and lurked nearby throughout the meal, which we felt was weird although he was no where to be found when we wanted the bill so had to get up and ask for it. Overall a bit disappointing although the building was beautiful.
