Great cocktails and ambiance. Food was lacking the sophistication that we were expecting and service was slow because the waitstaff was clearly understaffed (not the servers fault). Overall, good experience.

Sophia's Lounge was great! Good cocktails (I recommend the old fashioned), and the shareables are good too. We got the crab cakes and the truffle fries, and both came out quick and delicious!

I had the wrong expectation of Sophia's. I thought it was more of a mingle environment. It was too quiet for me. Will not visit again unless an event is going on that cater to music and mingling.

Our server was fantastic! He was alone on the floor- literally alone. He had 5 regular tables 2-4 people and 2 parties- wedding, shower, not sure- but each had 10 people. He managed us all with a smile. Who ever didn’t show that night and the Mgt staff should learn from him!!!

First time here and in Charlotte. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my partner ordered the waygu sliders. Chicken and waffles is overly sweet with bacon jam and syrup. Chicken was crispy, needed just a little more seasoning. Per my partner, he wished the sliders came with sauce. Drinks were good. The issue was the service. No one actually managing the front where you check in. Unsure if they were short but servers and bartenders took turns checking someone in when customers arrived. Then, received our drinks and fries in a timely manner. We ordered our meal and waited an hour. We had to asked another waiter (not our waiter) for ETA on our meal is at. While our waiter is outside talking with other customers. Apparently our meal order was never placed by our waiter. It was stated that there was an issue with the machine when our waiter placed our order but the couple behind us (who came 20 minutes after us) received their meal). Our waiter would have periods when he checked on us then go 15-20 minutes without checking in on us. We received our meal and placed an order for skillet cookie, but after another 20-30 minutes on waiting on that without it arriving. We decided to pay and leave. We arrived at 6:50 pm and left at 8:30 pm on August 26th. We do not remember our waiter’s name but he was tall, white male with brown curly hair. Unfortunately, we will not be returning here.

What a charming eclectic atmosphere and some of the friendliest staff ever. Food delicious and priced well. Definitely going back. Also, cozy chairs, couches and great art. Easy to carry on a conversation.

We chose this restaurant because we were staying in the hotel and it is just easier after a long drive. The environment is not for older people. We like small plate dining but the menu was limited and our lamb meatballs were delivered cold. Service was good; Jordan was a great server.

My party and I loved it! Beautiful ambiance great service and food and drinks. Also loved that they have their own parking that was free and close. We were in walking distance to everything! Definitely took lots of pics as the inside is beautiful. Our servers were really nice and helpful. Savanah and the guy that served us I can’t remember his name but he was helpful and on point!

I had a 5:30pm reservation, which I booked a month ahead of time, and when I got there, I was told that the restaurant was closed for a private event. I called the restaurant and they told me that due to staffing issues, the restaurant was closed which clearly was not true because they were holding a private event. I never had an issue with Sophia's Lounge and the food and service has always been amazing. I was disappointed at the poor scheduling management and it would've been nice to at least get a courtesy phone call or an email to let me know that my reservation was canceled so I could make other arrangements ahead of time.

An amazing classy looking spot, good for IG pictures if you’re an influencer. You’ll love old fashioned glass of cognac and drinks and general. One of the best spot for a first date or just hangout and vice with your significant other.

Sophia’s is a cool spot for drinks. Would not recommend it as a dinner/quick bites spot. Ordered the chicken and waffles and the chicken was definitely bad quality and probably from a box. It was definitely not worth the price being charged.

Inside is very moody, which is nice. Everyone liked their drinks. The food left a lot to be desired. I ordered the chicken and waffles with the bacon jam on the side. I don't eat bacon but got it so my friends could enjoy it. The order came with the bacon jam on the side AND on the waffles. Had to send it back to be remade, which took another 12 minutes. When it finally arrived I was disappointed. The chicken was so bland I didn't even eat more than 2 bites. 2 of my friends also ordered them and agreed we wouldn't order again. Another friend had the sliders but asked for ranch to add more flavor. I would go back for the drinks and to try something else.

It was a 6:30pm reservation but somehow they were out of 3 different food items that we tried to order. The food we were able to get was good, as was the wine. Loved the ambiance, but had a subpar dining experience overall. Had been looking forward to checking this place out and we had our daughter with us. She was excited to be dining there too as her name is “Sophia”. Thought it might be a good spot for small plates on family special occasions. Now I don’t know if we’ll ever return. Disappointing.

I was in the hotel for one night and decided to try Sophia’s. The service was good and the food was just ok. I had the Wagyu beef sliders for my main. The beef was WAY overcooked to the point of being very dry. (With as fatty as Wagyu is, this is kinda hard to do.) if the patty was thicker, it may have worked better, but they were very thin. The caramelized onions that topped the slider were insanely sweet. Caramelizing onions brings out their sweetness but it was as if they added brown sugar to them and created a sugary onion jam. There was no acid to cut the richness. They did put tiny little dill gherkins on top of each slider so that helped - just not enough. I would not order them again and, unless you like your beef really well done with a super sweet finish, I wouldn’t recommend them. I also had the creme brûlée for dessert. There were three flavors in individual ramekins. Each was very loose and, once again, too sweet. One of the ramekins had a clump of scrambled egg in it - an indication of not tempering the custard. I’m sorry to say I don’t recommend this either. If I was back at this hotel, I would find another place to eat. This just wasn’t a good meal.

Sophia’s Lounge is a beautiful place full of plush, cushy seating and low lighting. The ambiance is quite nice. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was good, but not five-star great and the prices were quite high (although probably on par with most boutique hotels/lounges in uptown)). The one thing that really bothered me about this place is that we ordered the chicken and waffles— this dish is three sliders and having learned that from the server, we asked to only be brought two sliders. There were just two of us and we hate to waste food, and we were happy to pay full price for the dish even though we wanted less food. When the dish came out, there were three sliders and the server told us that the chef refused to only give us two because “that’s the way the dish comes”. It was not an over the top request from us and I feel like the chef could have done better. After eating our other dish, we couldn’t eat the third slider and it made me feel bad that it was just going to go to waste. Other than that, our experience there was mostly positive.

After we sat for 20 minutes we finally got menus and waters. Ordered drinks and mine was 5/10 and my husbands old fashioned was literally melted ice and whiskey -3/10. They were out of every single entree and appetizer except very few (told us this after we tried to order, after waiting another 20 minutes). We ended up getting a dessert and leaving. Crème brûlée was amazing but that was the only plus side to the whole thing. Spent 2 hours there for 1 drink and 1 dessert. Hostess was only person working the bar and tables.

Out of the meat for charcuterie, which is $38 ish. I asked if it could just be served without the meat and knock of a little price instead, they said no, the price is the same. Generally drinks are expensive, though well made… We ordered the sliders, the meat was over cooked in the beef sliders, not very juicy. Plus ideally it needs sauce in the slider burger too.
