I recently moved to the area and was looking for a place that offered brunch. After a quick google search Sophia's at Walden popped up. As I perused the menu I was immediately drawn in by the Sunday brunch options. Most of the dishes described sounded delicious so I made a reservation to give it a try. Upon walking up the ambiance is truly quaint, from the patio dining options to the decor on the inside. I was seated immediately and greeted by the server shortly thereafter. Being someone who always prefers a healthier option, I went with the Mediterranean frittata. It was described as having spinach, tomatoes and smoked salmon with a side of potatoes. When the food came out I could tell immediately that the frittata was over cooked. The bottom was completely browned (not burnt) which made it hard to cut with only a fork. I'm glad I subbed the potatoes for fruit because my sister, who was with me, did get the potatoes and they were very dry. I wanted to like this place and I'm hopeful that this was a one off. Sadly, on initial impression I was disappointed.

We stopped for brunch. Was very nice. We both had omelettes. It was last Sunday morning and they were busy. Service was very good.

It's a lovely brunch place with an outside seating option. It's BYOB, so bring your homemade mimosas. The service is friendly, and the food is good. Sometimes, I wish there were specials, especially for brunch. Presentation of the food is basic, so don't expect a wow factor. Overall i highly recommend it.

Coming back to home and finding great new places to dine is a tough find. Finding a BYOB is always a plus. They checked every box. This hidden gem is a must! I’ll be back soon!
