Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was tasty. Nice bar. Clean rest rooms
The waiter came and we ordered drinks and food.
Best food and service around!!! #everydaywelit
Had brunch there for my birthday on a Sunday with friends. Staff was EXTREMELY kind!! One waiter walked by noticed we didn’t have a chair for our bags and gave us one without us asking. The staff was very attentive, they had a full room, but they did a great job at making you feel special. They took pictures for us (good ones) and didn’t make us feel as if we were a bother! The food was good could have been seasoned better but it wasn’t bad at all. Music
Was EXCELLENT!! Overall great atmosphere! I can’t wait to go back for dinner!
Awesome place for birthday and for groups of people. we had a BLAST!
Fun dinner. Good music. Shared tapas. Lobster Mac & cheese was to die for.
Had a great dinner with friends. Emmy was our server and she was outstanding! She was quick to give her opinion on food and drinks & was always around when we needed something. Our drinks were delicious as well as the food!
One of my favorites when I come to the lower east side! Great food, fun atmosphere, and terrific staff.
Great music, food and vibesssssssssssssssssssssss.
It was fun atmosphere with great music. The food was delicious too. I enjoyed the mushroom arugula pizza.
My gf and I went to brunch here. I am a cook my self and I know when food is made with care and precision. My steak was overcooked and I had to send it back, I asked for over easy eggs and they were done at medium. My girlfriend ordered eggs Benedict's and her egg whites were still runny. The worst part of it was the hollandaise sauce. Not your traditional hollandaise made with eggs yolk. This was made with MAYONNAISE, at least thats what it tasted like. I was not happy with our over priced meal. I'll only advice to go for the vibes. Music and drinks are good, but not the food. Its more of a party house than a restaurant.
Our son who’s 26 highly recommended this restaurant which was fine so we attended Sons of Essex for Brunch on Father’s Day. I enjoyed the ambiance, food and the service. Just didn’t think we should’ve gone for Dads day 👍
I took my cousin for his 21st birthday at this place. The food was rustic and comforting. The truffle mac and cheese with bacon. The burgers were really good. The cocktails were good too especially for Happy hour.
My favorite place for brunch! Great music and a fun vibe. The staff there are always so fun and nice.
The steak tasted like charcoal & the fried chicken comes with no sides. But the drink was nice and strong. They also play good music.
a throw back to another era: walls covered with black and white photos, knotty pine feel, corner, cushy booths and, of all things, a below floor level conversation pit. fresh food, well prepared and tasty. an interesting experience.
Sons of Essex is definitely a MUST go!
Service, food & our waiter, Alejandro were ALL beyond exceptional!!! Can’t wait to go back! 😃
Food came out almost instantly, which is never a good sign. Maybe we caught them on an off night, but everything was pretty bland/like cardboard. Wouldn’t rush back.
I came to Son Of Essex on Thursday. I have a 4year-old son, it’s not a place where you see kids. The stuff made sure my son has everything he needed. Soon as I sat down the placed an order of French fries for him. The food was great! The music was great! I really was relaxed. Me & my husband are coming back soon as we get a babysitter lol
Great vibe if you’re
Lively brunch spot. Food was just okay, but I think most people go here for the music and social aspect. DJ was great and really had the place pumped. There is a small area that become a dance floor later in the afternoon. I would go back to this place the next time I feel like letting down my hair for Sunday Funday.
I loved Sons of Essex. Ive been there a few times and this time decided to bring my two best friends. They both LOVED THE FOOD! The music was great as always. The waitress seem to rush us a little but we were too busy enjoying our food and the ambiance and didnt let that distract us from having a good time and enjoying the food.
Ambiance and service were very good. Definitely a fun place to be. Food was very mediocre and way overpriced.
Our server, I believe it was Alejandro, was so helpful and super attentive. He was so friendly and was able to answer any questions we had.
The food was delicious. I would highly recommend the mushroom truffle pizza and the crispy chicken sandwich.
My boyfriend and I love coming here for brunch. Food is great, atmosphere is fun, and the drinks, while not bottomless, are pretty reasonably priced
I love this place. If you want to have dinner while listening to great music, come here
Great food, atmosphere, and service!!
Exception excellent good... service and staff friendly and professional....5 Big Stars to the establishment...Our group had a great time together dining....See you all soon
Very pleased with the quality of the food and service we received for my birthday dinner. Everyone in my party raved about the truffle mac & cheese. Hands down probably some of the best I've tried in the entire city. The drinks were really tasty and our waiter was very friendly and accommodating.
Couldn't of had a better evening ! The food was enjoyable and the music kept me rocking the entire time I was there. It was a great way to start my friends bday off. Special shout out to our server Alexis. She was super cute and extremely nice and even spiced up the birthday song for my friend. I will be back for sure.
The woman who seated us was very rude and told us our party of four was not big enough to sit at the booth. Moments later a party of three was seated into the same we were denied. Other than this our actual waitress was good and it is a fun environment with good music and decent food
Ambience great, awful food.
Dry fried chicken, tough lobster roll, lemony avo toast and vinegar/onion heavy salad.
sadly was the worst meal I can remember in nyc for almost $250 for two.
Everything was nice however drinks were light and a little to sweet
Good food in a nice atmosphere with friendly staff!
Met with family & friends.
Overall really terrific food and service. Highly recommended
I loved everything about the restaurant ❤️. The shrimp Mac and cheese was awesome, drinks were good and the music was up to date which made it fun .
So I don’t know if I just happened to be have been there on off day it was mediocre at best. Went for brunch , was underwhelmed by the food. their signature dishes Were unimpressive. Service felt nonexistent. The DJ played good music. It was very chill and relax & Casual. If you’re looking for a relaxed atmosphere this is the place to go but like I said the food wasn’t anything special and I probably won’t be returning.
Celebrated my husband's birthday during brunch. Had a great time, excellent DJ that played old school hip hop. Will definitely recommend.
