Way too loud
Excellent food, comfortable, friendly staff...so welcoming.
We had a nice time at Son's Addition. It was good - BUT there is so much GREAT food in the city, that it isn't any place I'd run back to right away. The food was good. The service was okay - though our poor guys seemed to be in the weeds most of the night and we had to look around or wave him down quite a bit. My main remark is that at the price point, I would have expected better. My friend and I were celebrating her birthday and we SHARED one starter, one salad, and one entree with a glass of wine with each course, and it was about $180 with tip. So, not bad, but not my new favorite.
Excellent from start to finish. Highly recommended.
Brunch was amazing
First time here, party of 5, server Beth. Wow! Everything we had (we shared everything from appetizers to large plates) was outstanding. In particular the devil eggs, pate, and lamb. Wine and beer selections were very good. Great atmosphere as well. A definite recommend!!
The service here is impeccable. When our reservation was delayed because previous parties were slow, the staff apologized profusely and fed us small apps while we waited. Everyone was so friendly, we came away feeling even more positive than if everything had been on time. The wine list is also really good. We’ll be coming back for sure.
Food was inventive and incredibly delicious. Service was simply superb. The overall vibe was simultaneously lively, cool and classy. With all the great choices of restaurants in SF, we usually try to visit different ones, but we've returned here a few times because it's just fantastic.
Creative, delicious and very reasonable - one of the best meals I've had in a while!
Fabulous food. Courteous service. Affordable and delicious wine selection.
$2.50 for half a devil egg struck us ridiculous. Salad was filled with great stuff but salty dressing. Poached Chicken and Brussels were very good and priced well. The cod was the highlight and worth the almost 40min wait... yes in between courses 😬.
This is the second time in the past two weeks I have been to this restaurant. Both times they were late honoring the reservation. Once by 15 minutes and the second time by 35 minutes. The second time they gave out free appetizers to the numerous waiting customers. They blamed it on the rain. I think it has to do with a basic lack of rhythm in their service. While they are great at keeping the water glasses full, other things are uneven. Food is good, vibe is energetic.
Food was very good, especially the deviled eggs, arugala salad, chicken, and dessert! The steak tartar was okay, service was good at first but then they didn't come back to see if we wanted any additional drinks/food. The restaurant is pretty noisy!
Son’s Addition is a great restaurant! The service was great and the food was served quickly. It’s a great restaurant to share food with friends and family to celebrate a special occasion or just a casual dinner. I would recommend this restaurant as a must go.
Great ambiance! Food and service were excellent!
Great Food! Loved the spectacular flavors! Service was good, the only complaint was that is was so loud! OMG! It’s one large room, with lots of hard surfaces, not much to absorb the noise! Overall, loved it and will be back!
Each dish was innovative and delicious. The dinner we had here was a highlight of our visit to San Francisco.
The food was amazing. Everything was so fresh. The deviled eggs were unique and melted in your mouth. The arugula salad was so scrumptious, I could have ate a huge bowl! The cod was delicate and mouthwatering.
We plan on returning soon.
Friendly, delicious place with great selections. Bright space, only beer and wine.
Delishious food and great service. Uni tostadas, grilled octopus, hens of the woods mushrooms, extra juicy pork chop sand one of the best burgers n town.
The food was delicious, loved the wine menu and the service was very good. I would definitely recommend it and will go back.
A fine meal all around. Owner (wife of a husband/wife team) and the rest of the service staff were nothing short of wonderful. Food was creative and delicious. Pork chicharones, poached chicken with crispy skin, marrow bones, ground beef tartare and a burger with beef from Marin Sun Beef. All were very well executed. Can’t wait to see how much better it gets - they have only been open 3 months. And it was full on a Tuesday night.
A friend and I recently had brunch and it was a fantastic experience. Great food, excellent cocktails and friendly (and on top of things) service. Would definitely recommend and go again.
Phenomenal start to finish. We ordered every small plate on the menu, had a white burgundy, and really enjoyed the service and space. The hamachi and pate were highlights for me. Definitely going back
Pretty expensive for what the food was, but the cool / lively atmosphere and service was top notch.
I LOVE that they featured another chef to fundraise for a charity! There’s nothing like businesses using their platform to make a difference. Plus, the food was delicious and GORGEOUS - great for Yelpers and Instagram lovers. The Cod was especially yummy and great to look at. Also, Chef Nick is an amazing person who is fantastic with his staff which is rare in a chef of his caliber. Eat there ASAP!
Great meal, great service, great time. Even got lucky with parking.
Welcoming and tentative service. Delicious food and great options. Little unexpectedly spicy on the appetizers. Loud acoustics. Great vibes overall.
This was my second time here. My first time was back during their first month. I had a wonderful experience then and a wonderful experience on this last visit. The bone marrow dish is delicious. Shared every dish and enjoyed every bite. Can't wsit to go back.
The mushrooms and cod were delicious, the bone marrow very underwhelming (especially for the price).
Good food - so noisy in the restaurant!
Food is extremely greasy and heavy
Good food, good service and reasonable prices (for SF). Very noisy.
Appetizers are very small. Large plates are big enough to share. The flavor of all dishes was complex and wonderfully balanced. The uni was a little lost in the tuna and uni tostada, but still delicious. Note that they do not serve any diet or unsweetened drinks except soda water.
This is a tight spot, tables somewhat cramped (bumped into by servers moving and other patrons moving through the restaurant)
While the dishes were interesting and plates very large, I’d trade a smaller plate for a little more elbow room and less noise - no more straining to hear my dining mate.
this new local restaurant delivers phenomenal food with complex and unique flavors. The Brussels sprout bread salad and Black cod are not to be missed. This is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco.
Hamachi was fishy. Octopus ok but accompaniments for it weren't good.
Lamb was decent. Sea bass was fishy as well.
Accompaniments to sea bass too sweet.
Overall things were I think tried to be done well. Presentation is great. It richness was too much for me.
Food was great, service was fast and efficient. Really enjoyed it!
What a great place. Every dish - we noshed - was really excellent with great ingredients and attention to detail. Excellent service without pretentiousness. Super friendly neighborhood atmosphere; we met a number of new friends. Well done. We’ll be back.
