Great people, fantastic & creative food. The hen of the woods mushroom is unmissable!

Panzanella salad was great. Halibut was a generous proportion but way over cooked. Same for the pork chop. The mushroom starter was flavorless.
Nice attentive server.

Finally got the opportunity to visit a restaurant that I walk by almost daily. What a wonderful place. Outstanding in all respects. Started with an order of charred peppers. So yummy. I had the halibut that I could not stop eating while my friend had a huge pork chop that he could barely finished. Tried on of the small pies which was fantastic. Will definitely visit here as often as I can. Outstanding service and choice fo wines and beer are very reasonable. You will not be disappointed.

What a total surprise...this fabulous bustling corner restaurant has a cozy but vibrant atmosphere with dim lighting, creative finishes, fabulous service and a small but delicious menu. Every item sizzles with unique flavors that are perfectly orchestrated to tantalize the palette. Locally and seasonally sourced, it is a collision of eclectic and comfort food.... tapas style plates are effortlessly sequenced in harmonious order by an attentive yet unobtrusive staff. Great wine list ! 10 stars!

Although not a large selection of large plates, we thoroughly enjoyed the hanger steak and pork chop with a side of brussel sprouts. Dessert and a bottle of wine were fine as well. Only grumble is the menu prices are not the same as displayed on the Open Table website - not surprisingly the menu prices are about 20% more expensive and this restaurant also charges the "mandate tax" which coming from Europe, I don't quite understand why some restaurants charge this and some don't.

Excellent meal and we didn't even get to the big plates. Standouts were the bone marrow and the chicken liver toast. Solid wine list.

Light and airy interior to enjoy a sunny afternoon in the Mission. Not crowded, so noise level was not a problem. Service was friendly and attentive without be disruption to our conversation. The food was well prepared and tasty. The Hen of the Wood mushroom starter was a standout.

Son's Addition was a random choice from Open Table San Francisco during Pride weekend.
We were meeting our daughter and her girlfriend and her sister and brother in law and infant son. The staff was courteous, attentive and friendly. Open air seating was available to join the street scene in the colorful Mission District. The food was excellent, although I was disappointed in that the website advertised shareable small plates and the reality was very small plates which did not really work for sharing. The waitress was honest about the small amounts before I ordered. The food was imaginative and the regular entrees were very generous portions and everyone enjoyed their choices. Would recommend this place for couples, groups, and families.

Loved the background music, the decor, the open kitchen, and the wine selection was extensive. They have extremely friendly servers with great smiles. The food was also nicely portioned, with a cultural touch. I especially enjoyed the Iraqi selection during Refugees Restaurant week. The only thing was the rice was a bit too dry for my taste but that might be intentional...

We love Son’s Addition!! My fiancée and I are foodies and have been to a lot of restaurants in SF and Son’s Addition is one of our favorites. The food is excellent and is meant to be shared by everyone. We have tried almost everything on the menu and have yet to be disappointed. Some highlights and must haves: the deviled eggs, tuna and uni tostada, the hen of the woods mushrooms, the chicken liver mousse roasts, and the steak. When on the menu the lamb shank is also one of the best I have had. We look forward to our next visit.

This restaurant should not partner with open table. Our table was given away, and we were told we could sit at the bar. What is the point of using opentable to not sit at a table? The hostess was incredibly rude and ruined the experience. The food was good, and if it wasn’t for the poor customer service, then I would go back.

We tried the Bites and Small plates ( Total 5 )and left hungry . The food was well
Prepared , presented and very Tasty but the portions were minuscule.
In many other restaurants you can actually get by very satisfactorily on the appetisers and small plates .
We will go back ; this time to try the mains .
Our meal including a glass of wine and tip came up to $90.

Most of the food was unique and excellent - specifically, the brussels sprouts and deviled egg really stood out. However, the entree was nothing mind blowing, and the sauce wasn't quite the right complement to the meat. That being said, the service was outstanding.

We had a party of six to celebrate a birthday. We chose to order multiple appetisers and share them. Each one that came out was better than the last. The tuna tacos, Brussels sprouts and bone marrow were definite favourites. We then split burgers and enjoyed those as well. We highly recommend trying Son’s Addition. We will definitely come back again!

We were deep in conversation when my server accidentally knocked my glass of red wine over while bringing our entrees to the table. It was was spilled all over me and I was soon soaking wet. My light colored pants were quickly stained with red spots and I was not too happy. The server was horrified at what happened and both her & the manager, Anthony were offering help as well as apologizing at the same time. Later, we were treated to three delicious desserts, compliments from the restaurant. On top of that, they have offered to pay for the dry cleaning of my outfit. Despite this unfortunate mishap, my husband will go back not only for their delicious offerings but for their incredible hospitality & service!
Keep up the work please!
