Service was friendly and attentive. However, food was overly salted. All I tasted was salt in everything and it overwhelmed any subtlety of flavor. Went home and drank a ton of water and felt sick after dinner. My husband, who usually eats very salty foods even thought it was too salty. Very disappointed as I had high hopes.

Food was overall excellent, and a great value for the high quality and interesting flavor combinations (by SF standards of course). Out of 6 dishes ordered 5 were terrific (deviled eggs, panzanella, burger, veg/polenta entree, rhubarb crumble) and 1 was good but just a partial miss (hen of the woods mushroom app). Would definitely dine here again and feel good supporting a true neighborhood restaurant.

Son's Addition always delivers. From the classics, like uni tostada and the bacon deviled eggs, to new experiences from the kitchen, like an outstanding celery root soup and the destined to be a classic half chicken, the food is always fresh and popping, with a service staff that is thoughtful and attentive.

The service was friendly, casual/respectful, and unpretentious. Every dish was spot on delicious. Bacon-Kimchi Deviled Eggs are going in my hall of fame. Excellent experience at a reasonable price. I will be back.

The service was excellent. Very attentive staff and water was constantly filled. I would recommend the small plates. I love the play in flavors and textures in their beet salad and bone marrow. Having herbs break up the fat of the delicious marrow kept me wanting more. The beet salad had some spice from the the horseradish dressing with the subtle sweet beets and slightly bitter greens. Add in the crunch from the flavorful croutons and it is a wonderful marriage on the palate.

A bit disappointed this visit. The restaurant is really too loud for a dinner for 2. The tables are wide and you have to lean in unless you want to talk loudly.
The food was good but some dishes leaned toward overly rich without clear fresh flavors being able to come through
Will try again because I love the idea of a nice neighborhood restaurant that I can walk to.

We went there for Saturday brunch. The staff and owner were very friendly. The food was good but not something that “WOWED” us, maybe because we ate Brunch (and eggs are eggs everywhere). Will come back to try dinner.

It was out first time and we were not disappointed. Great food both in terms of quality and quantity at a very good value. We tried almost all of their appetizers and everything was tasty and fresh . They could have a better beer selection. Too many light ones on the menu.

The ambiance was very nice, though at the table I had to use my phone to read the menu. The greeter was very good. Our server was notably full of himself and not us. The table manager was exceptionally attentive and nice. None of the food tasted badly. The uni-tuna taco bites were a few nibbles of fresh tuna and a half-teaspoon of uni drowned in guacamole & tomatoes on 2 tiny round chips. My taste buds would have been equally satisfied and could have bought a full bag of chips an avocado tomato and lemon for half the price. This over-expensive and over-engineered 2 bites really cast a damper on the whole experience. The halibut collar was very good, innovative with its spicy cilantro sauce, and surprisingly reasonable in size after the chips. The burger was tasty but soggy. Fries were very good. The wine was excellent. Unfortunately I came away feeling that I could have had an equally atmospheric, enjoyable, tasty and innovative meal for half the cost, even in the Mission. In fact, I had a much tastier and better-executed meal (without the atmosphere and innovation) the previous day for 1/5th.

GF and I had a great time. It was her birthday and our first night out since having our baby. Host staff, bartender and manager were fantastic. Food was delicious! One dish came out cold and they quickly replaced it for us. Can’t ask for anything more! Highly recommended and will return.

Went for SF Restaurant Week and loved everything we ordered. I have a big appetite and by the end of the meal, I was stuffed. The waitress was attentive and our water cups were constantly full. The restaurant is very loud, so it was hard to have a conversation across the table.

This is one of the best restaurants in The Mission. For $2.50 you get a deviled egg that is no bigger than one bite, and it's worth every penny. The hamburger is made of high quality meat, and is delicious. Try the octopus. It's tender and tasty as is the yellow tail. I had a celery puree soup that was excellent. The wines by the glass are a bit pricey ($14-$16), but the Wild Life cabernet and Petit syrah blend that I had was a fine wine. The service people are friendly and ready for all your needs. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is a favorite of ours—family restaurant with a worldly feel! And the most amazing thing is the continuing innovation of the menu. The most recent addition, about a week ago, is crab and avocado lumpia. Every bite was deliciously satisfying! It’s one of those meals that you will remember for a long time.
