About Sonora Restaurant
Since Rafael Palomino—Sonora’s Executive Chef and Proprietor—opened the doors to this, his flagship Latin-fusion restaurant, he has received accolades from a broad customer base, including an “Excellent” from the New York Times. This creative, Colombian-born (Queens-raised) chef and author of five cookbooks, has since opened 8 more restaurants that span three states (New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania). Sonora, like Palomino’s other restaurants, boasts excellent service and mouth-watering dishes, paired with an extensive wine list and cocktail offerings. In addition to impeccable service and delicious dishes, Sonora’s two-story home offers guests the possibility of having a custom-designed and catered on-site private party, for any occasion, from 12 to 110 people.

Sonora Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Have been to Sonora several times.
Good food, nice atmosphere, and good service.
WARNING-Did not honor Groupon. Owner
Makes his own rules. They didn't honor the
Wine and drinks on our bill. They said it s not
Included even though it only says exclusion
Is specialty drinks. Wasn't worth it. Didn't
Spend enough on food. What a bad business
Decision. WILL NOT GO BACK.
There is no restaurant we enjoy dining at more than Sonora. There are constantly new delicious menu additions and each is beautifully presented. Each server is excellent and with Omar overseeing it all it is easy to see why Sonora has the success that it does. Now there is even jazz on Friday nites. They never stop making it special.
The hand-crafted cocktails are superb, the service is exceptional, the food is extraordinary, and the ambiance is delightful. Who could ask for more? Well done! We're from out-of-town but we'll be back on our next visit to Port Chester.
Sonoroa is always a great place for a special meal with friends. The food is terrific, truly fresh and innovative. We love the ceviche, the paellas and they have great vegetarian options as well as a variety of meat and fish dishes. The staff are professional and so nice, making Sonora a favorite.
My go to Latin cuisine in Westchester. Been coming here for 8 years and I'm never disappointed. Or do I worry if the wait staff is undertrained like at (bar taco- discusting) other places. They are accommodating, friendly and upbeat. The food is fresh and yummy. Highly recommend!!
We have been dining at Sonora for 14 years. We have always had a terrific meal with excellent service. There are always new, creative dishes on the menu and tonight the new ones were fabulous. Beautifully presented and delicious. We live in Greenwich, but when we are picking a restaurant for dinner we always think of Sonora first.
We were there on a Wendsday night and the restaurant was almost empty. We have been before
and had a good idea what to expect. The wine list was half off for the evening which was a very nice feature. The food was good but the tapas portions were ridiculously small. The waiters took a very long time to wait on the table and bring the food and drink. There was no one there when we left. No one bothered us to leave. This is a very nice restaurant but one should really
only order off the entre list and share if you want to sample the menu.
We were they on an early Sunday evening to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We were Party of 4 who loved each of their entrees - though one chose to have 2 “small plates” for his. It’s across the county from where I live but worth driving to.
Went here for a pre-concert dinner with a date. Very nice atmosphere. Great food, great service. Had the Tapas. Everything we tried was outstanding. Can't say anything but good things about the place and the people. Even the bread was unique and creative.
You can't go wrong if you choose this place.
My husband and I love this restaurant. They have great vegetarian dishes for us. And upon request, they grill the branzino and serve it with delicious roasted vegetables. We also love the Tacos de squash and the vegan Paella. Great margaritas and sangria. The mango sangria is my favorite! Wonderful, accommodating staff.
Waitress forgot one of our orders. Menu has changed. Some of previous appetizers that were very shareable are no longer available,e.g. some of the flatbreads. Some of the new appetizers are quite good,e.g. baked oysters, shrimp ajillo. Spring roll was a disappointment and should be removed.
The food was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal. Other than being seated right next to a large party when no one else was in the room at 6pm, was a little annoying. The seats were too close together for the wait staff to get through to serve the table. The presentation of the food was beautiful and I would go back for good food every time. Seating can b changed.
Only one word describes our dinner at Sonora: excellent. The food was delicious. I had the duck quesadillas, shrimp and scallops entree. Hubby had the octopus and paella. The flavors are awesome, the service was professional and friendly. We will definitely return!!
The guacamole came out right away as did one appetizer. The rest of the meal took at least another 30 minutes which was unusual for Sonora. I shared a bunch of tapas which were not up to the level that I have come to expect from Sonora. We were not as happy as usual. Hoping it was an off night.
Four generation Thanksgiving dinner and everyone was pleased. The food was delicious, well prepared, attractively presented. Despite the fact that it was really busy and crowded, there was adequate wait staff on hand so that service was top notch. The handcrafted cocktails were yummy. We'll go there again.
