Lightly poached shrimp in a citrus base, red onions, cilantro, tomatoes and sweet potato
the restaurant was very cold i saw a couple of guests asked to be moved to the bar area because the dining room was very cold
the food was not impressive at all we had dinner at 730pm and there dinner special of sea bass fillet with cauliflower mash was already not available.
so they waitress said they can do the same with salmon but we asked for the rasberry sauce on the side it came on the food, we did not send it back because we were cold and did not want to wait for another order to be made,
then we asked for gingerale and were told the machine doesnt work we can only have coke in a can . or drinks that are not fruit flavored
then when we ordered the churros they were not crispy and semi raw in the inside.
i had only gone to this restaurant once before and enjoyed it. but now i will not go back there are to many restaurants in westchester and CT to go to
Was an excellent experience but indoor dining needs to come back. Would have made it even better.
Really happy to be back at one of my favorite restaurants. They have a nice tent setup with heaters that kept us cozy. All the staff was wearing masks the entire time, it felt safe and clean. The food was delicious, ordered every type of empanada and the guacamole, superb!!!
We were never called to inform us that only outdoor dining was available. One of the people in our party was 86 years old and would never have consented to outdoor dining. Furthermore, there were only 2 heaters for the area and one ran out of propane before we arrived. It wasn't until about thee quarters of the way through the meal that someone finally brought out another tank of propane.
Food was delicious. We had the restaurant week menu with paella and it was a great value. The service was awesome too. The only thing we didn’t like was the cheesecake. Get the churros instead.
Food was very good. Service was very slow, but could be because we were seated outside.
most pleasant evening on the back patio among four tables spaciously placed, with a heater; the Restaurant Week menu was tasty, including the ceviche appetizer and the paella and short rib entrees, definitely save room for the churros for dessert and tasty cocktails and sangria, there is a small parking lot on the side of the building.
Great experience! Our servers were great.
The menu for restaurant week was excellent and diverse. We each ordered something different and each dish was great. The service, however, was terrible. there were only 4-5 tables when we arrived. In fact, we booked an earlier time so we could get in and out. Our waiter took 10 minutes after seating us to bring us a menu. It took another 10 minutes for him to take a drink order, another 10 to bring the drink, another 10 to take the food order, etc. etc. So, three people at 6:30 . . . .it took u over 2 hours to get out of the restaurant on a Tuesday . . . . I come from a restaurant family, in the business for 40 years. I almost never stiff the waiter, but we left no tip. We gave it all on the side the to the bus person who ran back and forth to help us. The food was phenomenal, but we wouldn't go back.
I had never been to Sonora before but was very happy I went. All the food was delicious. We started with the guacamole which was made fresh and was very good. We then shared a beet salad which was also fresh and very good. I had the vegetable paella which had wonderful flavor -it was really good.
The apple cider sangria was amazing. We also had the cinnamon leche cheesecake. Everything from start to finish was really great.
Brussels Sprout salad w Rissoto cake and Ensalada de Remolacha were Excellent
Stuffed chicken and the chocolate cake - was very good
Excellent as usual - great food and service
We couldn’t want for anything. Service was the best we’ve had in a while. Food was presented beautifully as described and even more delicious. Atmosphere was fun, light and relaxing.
The staff made our night perfect.
Not our first time here! Had the short rib and a paella entree. Mango sangria is a must!
So happy to be back at Sonora. They have all the social distance measures in place, the service was great and the food very good as always. Will be back soon.
Great food, amazing service and we love the decor of the whole restaurant. We also enjoy sitting and eating/drinking at the bar. The only thing I would say is the prices are high for the amount of meat you get in a dish. Other then that, this is a great place to have dinner!
It’s always fun to go the waitstaff is awesome food great and just a nice restaurant to spend some time at.
The food was absolutely out of this world
They seemed to be understaffed, the service was awful.
However they were extremely gracious and apologetic and the food MORE than made up for the lacking service.
Will definitely go again.
Very good attention and good food , good place to dinning with someone.
Wonderful experience. COVID-19 appropriate environment for inside dinning. Excellent menu with many delicious options. The tapas plates are delicious but save room for an entre...the paella palomino is amazing. Servers are friendly and hardworking.
It was incredible. My sister has never been there before and took me for my birthday. I have been several times but not this past year. I was so worried to eat indoors because of Covid. They were set up amazing. There is plexiglass between tables, they were far apart and everyone was wearing masks unless seated.
The food was delicious. We had empanadas with quinoa, eggplant and goat cheese. Yummm! Then we had the most delicious steak with fried rice with huge chunks of lobster in it! Lastly coconut shrimp with sweet plantain. I have to say it was the best meal I have had in the longest time!
Everything was outstanding and incredibly awesome.
had not been here in a very long time. came for sunday brunch and it was perfect !!! nice to be able to sit out in the open back porch area. will be going again soon
Very limited menu.
I have been coming to Sonora for years and I am never disappointed. I have been here since COVID and they are doing a fantastic job given the circumstances. The expanded outdoor space is lovely as well as the plexiglass indoors. The food was delicious as always and the staff was friendly.
This is the second time I’ve eaten at Sonora and it was absolutely delicious! We didn’t have to wait too long for food and the ambience on the back patio was absolutely perfect. Will definitely be coming back!
Good service nice people i will make another reservation without a doubt.
We were very happy that the management changed the music to Latin jazz, which enhanced the ambiance. The only negative was the amount of time we waited for our dessert. We will keep returning as this is a favorite of ours!
I've been going to Sonora for the last 17 years and their food and service is consistently outstanding. Since COVID has hit they have expanded their outdoor dining spaces, which I take advantage of, and never feel rushed or unsafe. I would highly recommend it!
We are regulars and as always food was excellent. The distancing and resulting low number of guests, plastic barriers and waiters in gloves and masks ruin the atmosphere. It just does not fit the Latino style. Time to properly open and get back to normal business.
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch on back patio. Service and food were great!
The food was excellent. The service provided by Silvana and Karina was outstanding.
Nice people ,good attention and food i recommend it to anyone
Did not respond to my daughters birthday. Waited for food for 45 min. Had to ask for bread. No candles on table or even a flower. No music .
Delicious food, great service, super nice people. I love going there!
I always enjoy my experience at Sonora. Even with all the changes and safety precautions, I really had a great meal at Sonora. The staff was kind and food was fabulous. I always enjoy the coconut shrimp, guacamole and Salmon entree. I will be back! I also adore their new staff masks! Keep it up team1
Red Sangria was.... okay. Entrees (paella, churassco) were delicious as usual. Dessert not so much. Churros were burnt and espresso was cold. Not a good ending to say the least. Been coming here for more than a decade first time I was not totally satisfied. Bad day? IDK will come back hopefully it’ll be a better experience.
Great food and drinks. Excellent adherence to CDC regulations.
The foos was excellent. The staff took great efforts to make sure we were satisfied .
Food is always great. Had the skirt steak entree with the lobster rice and quail egg. Delicious. We chose to eat indoors due to the heat and they've done a great job keeping everyone socially distanced. Staff is always on point!
