The service was slow. The heater wasn’t working properly either so it was cold.
Restaurant is on the upper deck of a mall in Santa Monica. Very nice ambience, good food.
The food was below average and a server spilled ketchup on me, then did not take responsibility for it.
I have eaten at your restaurant several times and always am happy with the service and the great food and drinks. This time around my friends and I were not happy with the service. It felt like our waiter was ignoring us and rarely checked up on us. He didn’t offer anything else before we were done with happy hour which I thought was unfair as we didn’t take advantage of the happy hour since he never came back to our table. I will come back, however I think the service could have been better that day
Everything was great except the hostess was pretty rude about us having a reservation and was very difficult
The food, the wine, the ambiance and our server Miguel were wonderful, but the hostesses were extremely unfriendly. I had made a reservation for our first time there and was really looking forward to it. Having rude employees as your first impression when you walk in is a little unnerving. They need new jobs or better training.
Sooooo excited to come here! The ambiance is very nice and I had high expectations...the food was meh...the cheese fondue app was amazing...but my entree was not good...hate to say it...I had the halibut...which was poached in parchment paper...had very little to no taste...and the “veggies” on the side were onions....which yes by definition is a veggie...but come on...so I feel like the value was low....
It was a dark and windy night. The inside dining room was closed (not a private party, just closed).
Outside seating was in a chilly wind tunnel.
I left without ordering. It would not have been pleasant.
I've been coming here for years and this last time I'll never go back. The food quality has diminished, the prices have gone up and it's just not as good as it used to be. Only go if you want to drink bottomless mimosas. The brunch menu is very limited and beyond expensive for what you get (or lack thereof). If you like to drink the mimosas are worth it, but you'll be hungry after.
Decent food and wine selection, but way overpriced.
We were there to celebrate our Twin daughters 21st birthday.
Our waitress was good. It did take some time to get our glasses of wine we ordered and one of the glasses was the wrong wine but she corrected it quickly. She also seemed to have the whole area herself which seemed large for one person and her food runner had no idea what dish was going to what table. Overall I think she was great for what she was given.
The thing that disappointed both my bf and myself was the time it took to get our food. We ordered fairly quickly and it took almost 30 minutes to get our cheese plate out. Our main dishes came out maybe 10 mins later which definitely was not enough time for us to finish it. Our waitress did offer to hold it in the back but we didn’t want it sitting under a heat lamp so we decided to keep our entrees and eat everything at the same time. Against my better judgement we ordered dessert thinking that it would be quick (I work in pastry and have years of experience working the dinner service). This again took at least 20 minutes. We could understand if they were very busy or short staff but it didn’t seem that way.
If it wasn’t for the timing we would have loved dinning here. We have came to dine here many times before moving to Florida 3 years ago and were excited to dine here now that we are back. The food tasted delicious so we were happy with how everything tasted and looked. The timing issue was just too much that it overshadowed everything. Our dinner shouldn’t have been over 2 hours because we were waiting on food.
I recently attended Sonoma Wine Garden for a birthday brunch. I called 2+ hours before my reservation to increase the headcount from 8 to 10 to which they responded they don’t allow same day changes. It was a bit of an inconvenience, especially considering this was a preplanned special celebration.
Once we showed up, our server was wonderful & the food was delicious! A bit pricey though.
Outstanding server. Cute location.
Really nice atmosphere, great wine list and friendly service. Not good bang for the buck when it comes to the food.
Great Space in the middle of caótico Santa Monica, very quiet and well organized, great wine and cocktails
The ambiance is great but the food was terrible. We were very disappointed and surprised it was as bad as it was. Our service was also terrible!! It's definitely a great spot to drink, but I would never go back to eat.
We enjoyed our dinner on the rooftop city terrace at Sonoma Wine Garden. Our server, Jen J was very warm and welcoming and introduced us the the sommelier, Sean, who provided some thoughtful suggestions and wine pairings, as well as local wineries to visit. The halibut en papillote was delicately fragrant and the truffle pizza with mascarpone and kale was decadent. We finished the night with a butterscotch pudding with a lovely Louis Latour French white, a wonderful pairing to end our evening.
This is a beautiful restaurant with a great open air space. The staff is super friendly and the food is great. Brunch menu is small but delicious.
We go every year on Black Friday. Last year wasn’t so great, but we opted not to break the tradition. Shawn (not sure how to spell) was a fantastic server—very friendly and had good recommendations. We had the salmon and the branzino. Both were really good. Will definitely return.
We were greeted immediately upon arrival and seated just as quickly. The service was excellent but the food is ok , not worth the price. I would go again for the ambiance not necessarily for the food. However, it was brunch and I have not tried everything on the menu so this is loosely based off of the eggs Benedict, and the chicken and waffles my boyfriend had. Other than that cool spot!!
Food is really good, but service was slow. Took a long time to get our first glass of wine, then even longer to get our appetizers. The outdoor seating is great. Lots of heat lamps at night. Parking garage right next door so you don't have to valet.
They are very accommodating. Great staff. Very good wine selection and the salmon was outstanding.
Sitting outside with overhead heaters was comfortable. We shared an apple and mesclun salad which was delicious. Started with dates from the appetizers list. We always get those. Then split the Bolognese. A greeat meal. Waiter attentive without being intrusive. Will be back.
Arrived as a family for a late evening dinner. Ambience was good and the welcome was warm. Experience was let down by a waiter who clearly was having a bad night, or perhaps a chip on his shoulder for Australians.
Food was okay but my truffle pizza lacked much in the way of truffle flavour. Others enjoyed their food.
I would visit again, but hope for a different waiter.
We were incensed when he also built in an 18% tip without asking. He clearly felt he wasn't going to get one otherwise.
Loved the atmosphere, great service, most defiantly coming back.
Ambiance and live music was a plus but the food was mediocre. We had the truffle and mushroom pizza which was fantastic but also had the gnocchi and sent it badk as it was missing ingredients that were listed on the menu and even when it was brought back still wasn't great. Mentioned it to the server and he was very nice about it but just felt more could have been done. Would go back for ambiance but not so much the food.
We love Sonoma wine garden, we live in San Diego and every time we come to LA we go to Sonoma wine garden in Santa Monica . Food is great and atmosphere is wonderful . We have had some friend's come with us and they love it , we will recommend this restaurant to any one.
They had speial wine selections, but were out of half of them. We both had to send our drinks back, I had a very dry martini, that I wasn't dry at all (i could taste the vermouth), and my friend had a cosmopolitan that was all wrong. At that point, they ran out if the gin I liked, so I had to go with another one. The food was okay. The bacon covered dates were dry, the meatballs average and the Tuna Traktir just average.
