Excellent, friendly service from our waiter Antonio and all the staff. Great wine selection. Nice, relaxed setting on the patio. Our party had the beet salad with steak, mushroom pizza, hamburger, grilled cheese, and all were perfect.
AL was our service and he was amazing!! The service was Great! Best for Brunch!!
There was an energetic party going on and the music level was way too high. We could hardly hear ourselves talk and the conversations were difficult.
Not good! Horrible service, ordered two drinks and an appetizer to start. Meatball appetizer came out first, Mo plates on the table, drinks never came out, no water, server nowhere to be found. We asked for the check and left, didn’t even stay for dinner.
Staff- not the waiters, were very pretentious. Realize it’s Santa Monica location, but it’s 10 am for brunch and you just opened. Waiter Jeff was an excellent waiter- he saved the experience.
Well where to start..... we arrived right on time and we were immediately sat at our table which had a great view. Then it all goes down from there. After waiting 20 minutes and no service staff coming to the table I left and went to track down the host. He assured me that someone would help us. I returned to the table and waited another 5 minutes before finally someone coming to take our orders.
I had to ask him if there was a special fish. He didn't seemed to care if we wanted to eat at all.
We ordered and food arrived. The meatballs were probably the worse I've ever had. Zero flavor and hard. The fish was halibut cooked in paper and that's what it tasted like. Paper. No Flavor.
He never came back for another drink order. The drinks were pretty good though.
We definitely will never go back.
Service was really poor. We waited a long time for the food and it was average. Our neighboring table had the same issue with the service.
One of our favorite spots in Santa Monica - great energy, great food and a great wine selection. The best part was the attentive, thoughtful and friendly service from every staff member we interacted with. Tim, the GM, is doing a great job and looked after us really well.
This is always a go to for a fun brunch or a bday get together
I love a good day party vibe. But the music was so incredibly loud- that i could not hear the person sitting next to me. I had to scream across the table.. it was not enjoyable at all.
Nice varied menu with a large wine list. The food, service and location were all great!
Sat and the bar and must say, the bar staff was phenomenal. Very friendly and attentive. Really added to the experience. Food came out in reasonable time and was really good. We will be back!
This used to be our favorite brunch spot. The bottomless mimosa brunch used to be well worth it but not anymore because they seem to have switched to a cheap version of the champagne. Lower the price if you’re going to lower the quality of champagne.
Great time and good food and wine. Only issue was that the waitress was trying to rush us even though it wasn’t a busy night.
Good service, friendly staff and nice ambiance fair range of food on the menu, and good wine
Fun, energetic atmosphere for brunch. Great wait staff; very attentive.
Awesome service, food, and vibe. Loved it
Great food, ambience & service- we enjoyed the outside dining
Disappointed with this meal. Nothing stood out. My filet was ordered medium rare and came well done. Had to send it back and it arrived after everyone had finished. I wouldn’t have cared if it was a little bit over cooked, but this wasn’t even close. The price was very high for the quality of food. The waiter, however, was very nice.
Everything was amazing. Will be back in the future.
Ordered wine and 3 items, waitress knew nothing about the food. No item was made right. The pizza (potato) was bland an doughy, the shishito peppers were covered in a ton of salt even though we asked for no salt. The bread and olives did not come with the accompaniments described and we had to ask for them twice. This place ruined our night as it took an hour to get stuff and get out of there... just to find somewhere else to go eat!
We didn't like the fish dish we ordered and they had no problem to exchange for something else. Our waitress Tina was great. She's very friendly, warm, classy and pretty.
We loved the ambiance but the food is moderate to good depends what you're ordering. However the service was very poor. We waited almost an hour for our food to be served. They brought the food for the half of the table and the other half 10- 15 minutes later and by the time the steak arrived, although it was tasty it was cold. While we were waiting for the food we asked the server to have more breads and she said that if we want toasted ones it'll take 5 min longer, because we were hungry we chose the regular bread. However it didn't make a difference in timing cause it took her 15 min to bring the regular untoasted bread. Although it has a great ambiance our experience was very disappointing.
The patio dining area was wonderful. Our server recommended a great wine for the table and all the food was delicious. We especially liked the poke and salmon starter which in itself would've made a meal. Great evening out!
I always love coming to Sunday Brunch at Sonoma Wine Garden. The staff is great - very nice and helpful. I feel like a VIP! Will definitely be back.
My boyfriend and I came here and we really enjoyed it! The truffle fries were amazing, as was the squid ink pasta and the salmon. If you go for dinner I’d recommend bringing sunglasses as I was seated in direct sunlight for awhile. The service and view were great. I would definitely recommend. We will be back again!
We spent a nice evening there. There are not many outdoor places in Santa Monica. This is one of them.
Our only complaints were management related, the kitchen did a fabulous job with our meals and recognizing food allergies and the waitstaff was very helpful.
The bathroom's were dirty and not flushing. A gratuity was added to a party of four without any notification.
I made a reservation for 8.30 and it was accepted....we got there at 8.30 and the reception guy told me that it will be 46 minutes before we can get a table, because I made the reservation to late...he sat down people who came after us and had reservations for 8.45....I asked again why he accepted my reservation, but now tells me that he had no table for us....he said that Open Table does not understand how the restaurant business works...I use Open table ever so often and I never had a bad experience like this before....I had a guest from Switzerland with me and I will never ever go to this place again. The meal was ok, but the whole evening was spoiled by the attitude from the reception person...they should not be on Open Table if they think that Ooen Table is not a good way to get business....I was really disappointed
The salmon and shrimp was cooked a little too long so it was dry.
Good ambience but three of our small plates and charcuterie board never made it to the table before our main course. We ended up having to forgo them as we had a movie to see.
Terrible service and mediocre food. Ordered two orders of fries. Only got one despite being told that the other one was 'one its way' multiple times. Had to ask for individual plates for appetizers. My son, who has celiac disease and an adult, went over his issues in great detail. Still, his app came w/bread on it. Only thing waitress said was, 'wasn't my fault.' She tried to show me that she sent the order in correctly. When I said nicely that wasn't the point, she tried to show me again. I don't care whose fault it was. It's wrong and he can't eat it. Service was interminably slow. One appetizer at a time. Manager was nice, though. Seemed concerned. Still, unpleasant experience.
Such a gem in Santa Monica. A great place to enjoy a fun brunch with friends. The food was great & the bottomless mimosas were even better although not a fan of the pre blended.
I will be back
From the moment we arrived starting with the Hostess, From the Manager to a Waiter was absolutely wonderful. Very vigilant and Energetic Manager, very involved with the staff and customers. Waiter was equally paying attention all his tables. For me customer service in every place is number one priority and Sonoma Wine Garden delivered it with superb attitude.
I made a reservation for this restaurant to celebrate my best friend getting married soon. The 5 of us showed up 5 minutes early to our reservation and were promptly seated. Our server came to our table shortly with menus and said she would be back with water. 5ish minutes later when she came back to fill our water glasses, she let us know that half of the menu was unavailable for the evening. This was disappointing because we had already had time to discuss options for what we wanted and now we realized we were limited to just the appetizer portion of the menu and the small selection of pizzas they offered. Our waitress was very curt, and not apologetic at all about the lack of communication regarding the menu. After hearing this, a few members of our party asked a few clarifying questions about the menu, and she, clearly annoyed, responded with “AGAIN, your only options are these few things”. It seemed a little aggressive for a casual night out for dinner so we decided to cut our losses and got up from the table and just left. We ended up at a cute restaurant a couple blocks over with really great service, a lovely ambiance, and no unnecessary attitude from the servers. Also while we were there, their bathroom was “out of order”, forcing patrons to seek one out in the mall or Nordstrom. We probably won’t ever attempt to go here again since the experience was so sub par.
Food was delicious, but on the night we went the restaurant was serving a limited menu. Our server told us there had been some "drama in the kitchen," and that they only had two chefs cooking, so many of the menu items were not even being offered. What we tasted was very good, however, and the location at sunset is spectacular. I hope they got that drama sorted out quickly.
I love this venue, especially on a warm summer night. The food we ordered was delicious. and the ambiance you can't beat.
The 3 stars is due to the poor service we received.
The waitress was friendly but a bit distracted and slow. There was also a mix up with the buser. He delivered the neighboring tables mushroom pizza to us (one of us ordered the same thing) but the rest of our table didn't get our food for another 15 minutes.
So my colleague didn't want to start eating without the rest of us and subsequently his food was cold, but still delicious.
Then my colleagues closed their bill and left and I had two friends join me for dessert and drinks. I had to ask for menus multiple times.
I've been here once before and had a really great server.
My daughter and I had a fantastic rooftop view! The special was halibut and it was prepared nice with fresh herbs, lemon and veggies. My daughter had the kale salad with chicken. We finished our meal with the churros which were dusted with just enough cinnamon and sugar to enjoy dipping them in the ice cream. Service was good but slow as it was very busy.
We were seated once we arrived. They sat us in the sun, but we asked to be iced underneath a umbrella due to the heat wave LA has been experiencing. Our server was funny and provided us with a better experience than my previous visit. Will return in the near future!
Amazing experience, delicious food, beautiful view, fun music and AWESOME server!!
