Sonoma Wine Bar
Food was delicious, service was excellent and restaurant was very welcoming. Will definitely return
Someone (I think the owner) asked multiple times if we were sure we were at the right restaurant. Additionally, halfway through eating the fries we ordered, the waitress informed us they were extremely old and took them away. We weren’t comped for the fries. Not a great experience.
Service was amazing - Micheal the manager made sure he stopped by our table. Our server (I am drawing a blank on her name ) was both attentive and personable. Although my medallions were not medium rare, they were tender (no I didn’t mention it. I didn’t think it was a big deal). My wife ordered a slider and garlic fries - she enjoyed both.
We plan on going back !
We sat near the bar and had Alli as our waitress and she was phenomenal! Great service and great food to match. We are visiting and Alli gave us some great places to visit while in town. Will definitely eat here again :)
We had a wonderful time here. Food and drinks were yummy and the service was quick and friendly.
Amazing food and amazing staff! We were in town for 2 days and came back our second night because we enjoyed it so much!
Excellent spot. Love the atmosphere, service and food all around. Maybe just SLIGHTLY overpriced (about $100 for 2 people), but overall would recommend and happy to go back.
The food was excellent.
We had a range of dietary considerations - gluten-free/lactose free - and all were pleased with their meals.
Wine selection was terrific.
Food was good, appetizer was forgot so it came out cold. They made it right and comped the dish so that was good. The clam chowder was a bit watery but the flavor was good. Overall an enjoyable night.
We really enjoyed everything once we were seated. We had a reservation for 8:00 but weren’t seated until 8:30. That was a little frustrating.
This place was so confusing - we made a reservation for Sonoma & they gave us a menu for a completely different restaurant (Christopher’s) it was way more than we were thinking we’d spend on dinner because the menu isn’t even close to the Sonoma menus listed online. It wasn’t Sonoma - it was a completely different restaurant inside of Sonoma. Made no sense.
The service and drinks were impeccable. The food was fabulous as well. My friends and children were all happy with their meals. I gave it 4 starts because I think I chose the wrong entree and it wasn’t my favorite, but the quality was high and I will be going back and ordering another option.
Nice downtown location, good spacing between tables. We expected more of a wine bar experience than that of a bar/casual dining per se, nevertheless the food was outstanding and the service too. Restaurant shares kitchen with Christopher’s ( at the Peery Hotel, Sonoma Grill and Wine B feels more like the sports bar next to the fancier restaurant. Wish more of this info was included in the open table description as we were expecting more of an intimate dining experience. Other than that excellent.
GREAT selection of wines, and the food menu is very diverse. We were given a menu for Christophers as well so there was not a shortage of food items.
Get the Warm Spinach-Bacon dip!
Felt a little rushed due to the holiday, but overall good time.
Went here with my wife for valentines day and we had a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommend for a great place for a date night.
Sonoma has good service, great food, and a nice atmosphere.
The staff was excellent, nice vibe and great wine.
Attentive and personalized service. Very well prepared dishes.
Slow , not busy, poorly prepared dishes.
Great food. Service wasn’t fantastic, but was acceptable. Excellent wine selection.
Nice ambiance for a date. Enjoyed the food and drinks. Especially enjoyed the nuestra appetizer. Server was scare toward the end of our meal when we wanted more drinks or the check.
Food and atmosphere was good! Our service was excellent!!
The wait staff needs to be trained in the proper way to serve a bottle of wine.
Great food. Great service. They had a table in a private room which suited our party of 12 very nicely.
Nobody waited on us for over 20 minutes so we asked the host to sit in the bar. The food was worse than any fast food or chain restaurant you can imagine. The lobster and shrimp sat under the hot lamp for so long it was as if they turned to to jerky. The breading on the shrimp was charred and dry...only on the side up that was being torched by the food lamp. The only good thing was our bartender Johnny who had a smile on her face and was very cordial and nice. If we never eat there again it will be too soon.
Good food and service. Not a quiet place as conversation was hard to hear. Enjoyed the pace of delivery of our meal, not rushed but moved along at the pace we were eating.
We sat at our table for 23 minutes before I got up to find a server, she came over 10 minutes later. The appetizers and soup were delicious but the entree's were much to be desired. Steak was rare when it was supposed to be med/rare (barely had browning on the outside) and chicken was overcooked. They did give a discount because of the service and quality food but it still was not worth the $80.00 we paid.
Two visits to Sonoma Grill. One on a Sunday evening, with almost no one there, and another on Valentines day, when the place was packed. A gluten free menu was important for my date. The food was excellent on both visits. Service was very good considering the demands of a packed house. Other than great food, I appreciate a restaurant with a nice ambiance and acoustics, that allow a casual conversation. The menu goes from value to pricey, and the same can be said for the wine list. A great choice for a restaurant near the Capital Theatre.
Nice dining scene and good environment. Went on V day so they had piano guy singing and playing. Waitress was subpar, unattentive to drinks. Had preset menu for evening so thought would be good and hot each course but was not. Ordered steak med rare and it came out purple barely cooked, both mine and wife. Potatoes were cold. Dessert was best part of meal. Not good choice for holiday evening, maybe normal days are better but I don’t think I’ll go back.
Valentine. Great dinner
We loved it !
Nice local spot with good food choices.
Waited more than 30 minutes for a drink and ended up leaving because we never got it.
Everything was wonderful about our dining experience at this restaurant. Service and food were amazing!!!
Ordered a burger medium, it came out rare. Very rare. Ordered a side salad, the lettuce was limp and the dressing was a very sugary vinaigrette. The french fries were delicious, and the stuffed mushrooms were great. We did wait over 30 minutes between ordering our food and it coming out (and the restaurant was about 20% full). Our server was super cool as was the host, the only good thing along with the french fries.
I was surprised that the food was not as good as I expected. I would have expected more fringe the prices. However, the staff was very accommodating to the various dietary restrictions and allergies within some of our group, which was much appreciated
Always a great dining experience in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City.
Our service was slow. We ordered one soup and a ceviche for starters and two glasses of wine. Only the soup and one glass of wine came at first. The ceviche came with the other dishes and the second wine took forever. Also the portions are large and we did not need that much food. Caution by the waitstaff
Could have helped.
Food was tasty the whole flow of things was off.
There was a set menu on New Years Eve and all of the food was very average and the service was very slow. Would not recommend
