Charming wine bar. Feels like a real Sonoma wine bar. Loved it.
The food was delicious, well seasoned and garnished. My only complaint was the appetizer arrived with the entrees.
Nice selection of wines by glass or bottle. Fun variety of bruschetta, pizzas, sharables, and sandwiches. The fig/goat cheese bruschetta and meatballs were both dynamite.
Exceptional service and lovely food and wine
We were headed to Music Box Theater so this is a great place to grab a bite and have some drinks. The wine flights are great - gives you a chance to try a few different wines. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. Not a huge food menu but generally can find something you like.
Sonoma was great! We had a birthday dinner here and we had an excellent waitress! She gave good recommendations based on our typical wine preferences. The food was great as well, the charcuterie board is a must, especially for big groups. The pizzas were delightful as well and more than big enough to split.
The wine was excellent with plenty of options. We especially liked the wine flights which were a great value. Overall would definitely come back!
Best girls’ night out ever!
It was our 2nd time there, food was very good, service was excellent all because of Charlotte. She was attentive, opened and poured our 3 bottles of wine which we brought with us under their corkage program. Last time Andie attended us and she was excellent also.
Wonderful service and so much food. Incredibly economical considering portion size and the food was amazing.
Has become our first cal for a date night. Conversation is possible. Sharing plates help getting "over fed". Leaves room for fine wine to complete the meal.
Great happy hour value! Wonderful service. This is my go to share wine with friends
Nice place for a glass of wine after work . Good wine list. Service was so-so.
Baked feta dip amazing, charcuterie fit for a king - affordable wine list - great service - nice patio and indoor seating.
Have driven by Sonoma Wine Bar for many years. Caught my attention since I lived in Northern California for many years. My wife wanted a date night and something new. It was a great choice.
Make reservations, it was busy on a Friday night and you have both inside and outside seating choices.
Food was great- complete choice from a nibble to a full meal. Wine flights, total pour of 9 ounces was just right - nice wines and did not need to call UBER .
Already told my son-in-law and expect will be back this week!
Loved this place. Lovely wine choices, wonderful plates that we shared. Definitely we would go back.
The food and wine are tasty and it’s a great place to go to have a date night or dinner+drinks with friends. Would recommend!
Awesome happy hour deals and good wine selection. The food is good but not anything special. The wine is the real attraction and especially affordable during their daily happy hours!
It feels like you are having a small dinner at friend’s house. I love this place.
There was a party in the same room so it did get quite loud and hard to talk but it leveled out a but so it was better then. I enjoyed my visit and will be returning and making another reservation. Thank you so much for the great service.
Great place to make memories!
Cozy and delicious wines and food.
Location is very convenient.
I will keeping going to celebrate life with others.
Nice place house wine is perfect pizza delicious service excellent
We’ve been to Sonoma Wine Bar a number of times on visits to Houston. Great wine list and good food. It is always a favorite.
Nice place to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine and refreshing appetizers.
Wine was great, food was delicious. Enjoyed a great lunch and would definitely recommend Sonoma to others.
Wonderful little place. Tables were a little small for our taste. Well informed server. Was able to give good information about our wine choices. The deviled eggs!! A must try. Hopefully more Malbec choices will be available on our return trip.
We returned to Sonoma for the third time because of its proximity to The Music Box Theater. As we've experienced each time, the food was great and the service was half-assed. One member of our party didn't get his food when everyone else did, and the server (who didn't bother to write anything down) didn't even apologize when he pointed out that his food hadn't come. One member of our party ordered the spinach-artichoke dip, which was delicious, but comes with four small slices of bread. As soon as the order came, he asked the server, "Can we get some more bread?" She said yes, but never brought any more bread. (The same thing happened on a previous visit when one member of our party ordered a cheese board that came with about eight crackers and four tiny slices of bread. He asked for more bread or crackers, which never came.)
For the second time, the $20 bottle of Garnacha on the happy hour menu wasn't available. When it happened on a previous visit, they offered a slightly better bottle of wine at the happy hour price. This time, the server took this as an opportunity to upsell us a more expensive bottle of wine. (Hint: If you're not going to stock the wine that's listed on your happy hour menu, maybe it's time to reprint the menu.)
I went here for date night with my husband and I'm so glad we did. Food and wine we're all great. Service was impeccable!
Decent food, but overpriced, and both of our visits, the service has been spotty. The farmhouse cheese board was $35 and included four small pieces of cheese, about a teaspoon of each of four or five garnishes, three or four small slices of bread, and about eight crackers. The proportions were all wrong, so we ran out of bread, crackers, and the best of the garnishes (an onion marmalade kind of thing) long before anything else. We asked for more bread or crackers, but they never showed up.
The ambiance is strange—the waitstaff serve attitude as if they're in a fine-dining establishment, not a strip-center happy hour wine bar. Our table along the back wall was so dark that we had to use our phones to read the menu, and the place was so noisy that it was difficult to hear what people on the other side of the table were saying.
I would have given this a higher rating on the Ambiance, however, the noise level was so high the four of us could barely hear ourselves speak. Otherwise, the food and service was outstanding and I would definitely go again!
Cute place! The server was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with pairings!
The crab cake was the best I have ever had! We will go back.
While our server was really nice I did feel we waited a while (more than 20 mins) after being seated for service. For a quiet weekday night when there were not a lot of patrons it seemmed like a long wait.
The restaurant/bar is very quaint and quiet with a very comfortable ambiance. The service was terrific and the food was glorious!
We have been dining and enjoying wine at this location since it opened. This now is the second time in a row where we visited this location and were very disappointed. There were 5 of us, the pizzas were ordered at the same time and came out 15 minutes apart. The first pizza was way over cooked and the other lacked any flavor at all. The wine pours were supposedly 7 oz. but they only filled just under a third of each glass. We ordered baked Bree and it was served Luke warm.
We will try the Studewood location but will most likely not visit the Kirby location again. Our previous visit resulted in this location being out of 2-3 types of beers and all pizza dough.
We are very disappointed as Sonoma used to be a great place to go, with so many other choices now available giving it several chances seems to be enough. I hope the management utilizes this feedback to improve and regain the reputation once owned.
Sonoma is a relief from unwanted loud music and tables cheek by jowl. The menu selections are great and the wines by the glass are a good value.
Excellent wines by the glass and terrific personal size pizza options, pleasant seating outside in front although obviously Richmond is not a quiet street. Our server was quite knowledgeable about the wines. Bonus: We walked there from our new apartment home at Avenue Grove.
Great place for a relaxing glass of wine and food. Food is great but really geared to relaxed eating with shared plates. Lots of small bites and cheese trays. Pizzas are very good.
Great food and great service.
Our food was fabulous. The wine was good. Our waitress was polite and very helpful. The only negative experience was with the manager. She was the one to seat us and seemed a bit snippy and unwelcoming. Our waitress would have made a better manager. This is the first negative experience that I have had with Sonoma. Great place to meet for wine and light meal.
Sonoma is our favorite wine bar! We wish there was one in Katy. We go as often as we can for date night when we are in town.
