Songkran Thai Kitchen - Galleria
Songkran is a celebration of food, drink and camaraderie in an upscale atmosphere!
Great service , and food was really good..!!
Great food and service. Wonderful flavors.
One of Houston's finest! Menu is spectacular, and service is serious!
The Beef Wok Noodles are amazing!!!
Excellent Asian food in Galleria Area
Loved their green curry.
The food at Songkran was pretty good. We did ask for some additional spicy sauce to add to our pad thai and shrimp special entrees. The dessert was some kind of chocolate pyramid with macerated berries. It was Houston Restaurant week, so we were glad to support a good cause. The dumplings were pretty good, overall everything would just benefit from a little more flavor/spice for us. Nothing tasted bad, and we will probably try them again to order off of the regular menu. Service was good, our glasses were always filled.
Delicious food and attentive service - it is a place to which we will return
The food was all fantastic as usual, especially the crispy duck salad, the short ribs and the whole crispy fish.
The noise level was especially high and it was hard for me and my guest to converse without difficulty.
First time visit during Restaurant Weeks, and will definitely come back! Great service and food!
Very nice venue; good food service. Pleasant experience
Restaurant Week Menu
Shrimp shumai Tom yum soup:
Watered down and lacking greatly in flavor. Under seasoned. Needs a little bit more fish sauce to balance it out, perhaps tomatoes but I can appreciate their interpretation of Tom yum.
Noodles weren’t all that either but the beef was fantastic; about 8oz of braised perfection.
The dessert was delicious.
Excellent service. The best Thai place in all of Houston. We come here a lot for dinner. They are very accommodating to dietary restrictions and allergies.
This restaurant is very small and we felt rushed to order (our drinks hadn't even arrived yet), so don't go there expecting to have a long dinner. There was a long wait at the door which is understandable because the food was excellent.
From the minute we walked in until we left, everything was perfect. We were seated immediately, our waiter was fantastic. The food was beyond fantastic. The restaurant was a very pleasant atmosphere. I will go again
The waiters and waitresses are very friendly. Foods were good. We order from Houston restaurant week menu....the ginger mussels were excellent, pork ribs were very tender and tasty. The sizzling shrimp were good, shrimps quite fresh.
The restaurant are quite noisy.
Cindy is the best. Very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Make sure you ask for her when dining in. The food is great too!
Family get together
We eat at Songkran every time we visit Houston. Their braised short rib, curry and pad thai are delicious!
Great lunch specials.
As always, Songkran never disappoints. Everything was first rate and the Crispy Duck Salad was over the top as it always is. Our waitress was most attentive, friendly and efficient and the ambiance of the place was most pleasant.
The food at this restaurant is prepared perfectly and the menu reflects foor appealing to a high caliber pallette. We love this restaurant
The service was friendly and attentive and the food was delicious
Excellent Service. Food was delicious . Highly recommended
The food was flavorful, and the atmosphere was nice. The service was great, and the wine list was good.
An unexpected surprise tucked away in Uptown. Delicious and priced right. Lunch menu has a dozen items served with soup and salad. I got the tasty green curry chicken and my wife got the Drunken Noodles. Friendly service from all the staff. And I’m glad we got a reservation because it was packed by noon.
I am always happy to recommend Songkran to friends.
Terrific menu. The variety of dishes is really among the top Thai menus I have seen. The cuisine is upscale. Reservations made entire experience smooth. The restaurant is well-situated, but is a small venue. We will be returning.
The pad Thai was indescribably delicious. This dish had every hint of flavor and more. From sweet to spicy and a bit of tang.
It accentuated on my taste buds with excitement. The ambiance was modern /eccentric. This will be my new date night spot for a tasty meal
Meeting with friends..!
Interesting food presented in a calm environment. Good for business lunches. The food seemed a bit overly sweetened. My curry was good but lacked zest.
Always a delicious meal
Second visit and it was as good as we remember. Had the curry chicken and it was prepared just as I requested without any eggplant. Husband had the cashew chicken and really enjoyed it. We were there at lunch and the portions were plentiful. Food came out quite quickly as well. Will return with pleasure.
Food was good. That is where the positive experience ends. The service ruined the evening. Restaurant became busy after we arrived. There were only two servers. This resulted in terrible service. Waited 16 minutes for refill of water and to ask to order another glass of wine.
Awesome food and great service
Songkran was ok.
Food was good, but not that special. Had two types of curry, the Larb Gai and some fried rice.
Had a table Sunday, Mother’s Day, for 7pm. Got a call at 5:30 telling me to come earlier if possible, as last seating is 7pm and they already close at 8pm.
Arrived 6:30pm and our waitress told us to rather order quickly, as they have lots of guests and already closing at 8pm.
Food came very fast and was just dropped on table by an unfriendly server, so that sauce splashed to rim of plate.
Felt really rushed and that kind of ruined my whole Mother’s Day dinner with my boys.
Our food was fresh and delicious, and our server was extremely patient and helpful with two family members that are doing the Whole 30 diet. Our meal came at the very end of a long and busy Mother's Day for Songkran's kitchen and staff. Well done!
Pretty good for Houston. Average food compared to Los Angeles or other cities with amazing Asian food. Casual environment is friendly and good for easy dinner out with kids or friends.
As always, Songkran did not disappoint this time around. I brought some relatives from New Orleans (who definitely know great food) and they loved everything about Songkran. We sat outside in the patio area and the noise level was subdued even on a Friday evening. I highly recommend Songkran to anyone who enjoys great Thai food.
