    Delicious food and service is exceptional. Our wait staff ensured the bottomless mimosas were filled regularly, some places do not, so we were very appreciative. It was so very hard to decide only four of the Bruschetta choices so we purchased two boards with one of the eight choices available. We were happy to watch the NZL sailing on their outside tv screen. Fun was had by all ages 21-57 years.

    We had to wait for a while before being greeted by our server, we happened to notice a table who was sat down after us received waters before us. The food was great but overall we didn’t feel very welcome.

    This was my first time at Sonders. I was celebrating my birthday with my brother and sister in law. We made reservations and arrived 15 minutes early. The restaurant had a weird smell but I guess we got used to it after a second. The staff was good, admitted they were newer (I soon found out why). The food was amazing and the drinks were good. We chose bottomless mimosas because the online menu had them listed at $24 and the menu in restaurant didn’t have price. When we got the bill found out we were charged $32 each for the bottomless mimosa. I asked the staff why and was referred to the manager who was very rude and said the online prices were old and the menu was updated. I explained to him we based our choice off of the price and things listed online. He said he would take care of it (with a condescending tone) and returned with a ticked marked $6 off. The agreed price would have been $16 off. I didn’t say anymore and paid my $226 ticket with the $30 tip I already had planned to top before all of this. But anyway I will not be returning that manager needs an attitude adjustment and cannot keep his word when saying he would fix an issue. I will not be returning

    What our table experienced all agreed was dissatisfying. The waiter was sarcastically attentive, he suggested the extra bread with the pizza dip. He was right they do not give enough but for four more slices you’ll pay 4.00 (seems unreasonable for the amount and why can’t the order come with four more slices if it doesn’t stretch?) For what appeared to be rather slow inside our drinks took forever and ended up poorly timed. Using the open table to get our table secured when it asked about occasion, I put birthday. We were sat right up next to one out of 11-12 that was right on top of a group dining. On side of our table had to squeeze in and hope they didn’t bump them. The “occasion” felt more like hazing. They don’t care so don’t fill it out. Not sure if any of us are ever going back.

    So this place just didn’t have the ambiance. There was live music playing and it was soooo extremely over the top loud that we couldn’t hear each other talk and we were in the back back of the restaurant. The food was just ok. Nothing special.

    First time back in Bakersfield in quite some time and really enjoyed this place. The food was great and their mimosas with sorbet were perfect for brunch! Next time I’m in Bakersfield will definitely go back to Sonder.

    Great place for lunch. We had the Philly Cheesesteak, French Dip, Patty Melt and Cobb Salad, all were excellent. The quality of the food is outstanding. The interior is a bit cold, so we sat outside which was just fine, and a bit more quiet for conversation. Sonder is one of the best restaurants in Bakersfield for lunch.

    Horrible experience! Never again… they were basically kicking us out every 5 mnts bringing the tab every 5 mnts Mind you we had already paid our first tab 2 nd tab was $42 and we were still planning to have some more drinks

    Overall everyone is nice. Had reservation seated right away. Kinda cold atmosphere but we have been before so no surprise. Hamburgers were great, fries a little warm not hot but tasty. Drink service before dinner was prompt and kept water glasses full which we appreciated. Will return with same expectations.

    I thought it was a strange welcome by the Hostess” are you looking for someone” I booked my reservation through OpenTable. I was visiting/working through Bakersfield and the reviews sounded good. I ordered a ribeye with vegetables and Risotto. First, that was not risotto, way too watery. Either my steak was tough or the knife was dull or both. I paid my bill and left. Understanding that it is a family restaurant, not at any time should young children be allowed to play tag and run around the tables. Dangerous. As a chef, I was very disappointed with the meal and it was harsh to enjoy the music with the kids running around my table.

    Booked a reservation the day before and was easily able to book something for two people. We got there and were seated right away and the server quickly took our drink order. I ordered the French dip and my fiancé ordered the wings, food came out quickly and was delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. Would come again.

    Everyone enjoyed their meal except me. I had the beef stroganoff. It should be served on linguini, and was served on a spiral pasta. The sauce had way too much mustard in it and was pretty sour/salty. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend or order it. I really like this place and will definitely return. Any other dishes I have had in the past have been very good.

    Booked a birthday dinner last minute which I was grateful for considering our party was 10+. The restaurant is lively with live music and very loud, I actually enjoy that. Food was good, drinks were hit and miss and service definitely took a while considering the amount of people. Overall it was a good experience and will continue to return and recommend to others.

    I ordered the chicken sandwich Nashville style and would definitely get it again. The fries were cooked perfectly and one of the best lemon drops I have had.

    My salmon was raw when I received. I asked for them to re-do. They never came back with the new salmon and I had to wait for 20 minutes. The waitress did not check in and and one e she knew I was upset, she avoided my table. I had to ask the manager to come over and she made nothing but excuses. The salmon finally came and was over done with a huge slab of frozen butter on top of. Horrible experience. I have been here many, many times over the years. Really their service is slow and not good at all.

    Stefanie was amazing!! She was on top of our refills, great at suggestions items from the menu, or just helping us decide on what to order. She has a great personality. We haven't had such overall great service recently, so we appreciated her attention to detail and promptness.
