Nice place for brunch!
We really liked our experience overall. The octopus appetizer was definitely a highlight. Our only criticism would be that they reevaluate their menu organization and pricing. Most food items seemed priced too low honestly, especially main entrees and specials. We really enjoyed our meal and service.
We sat at the high tables near bar downstairs
Had appetizers and a few drinks while watching playoff football
Nice lookin place...you should check it out
Menu on a Saturday afternoon was not what was published on the internet. It was very limited and mostly breakfast items. The food itself was good, albeit very hot in temperature. Very small upstairs so I am not sure I would want to dine here when it is crowded as it seemed very cramped.
I found it to be just okay. My dinner came out lukewarm. The coffee came out cold. The appitizers were okay. They ran out of Tito's vodka and had to use a different vodka and increased the price of the drink over 4.00. It wasn't our fault they ran out of Tito's. I wouldn't go back, nor would I recommend it to any friends.
The food was insanely delicious and it was arguably the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Worth the trip!
The menu you have listed on here is very exciting, and when we arrived you have none of the cool stuff. No beef tartare, no tuna at all (sold out). Asparagus dish was a big yawn I can get a poached egg on grilled asparagus anywhere. The only thing you manipulated at all on the eggplant purée dish was the actual eggplant. Store bought pita that you did grill a little, olives right out the jar, and undressed spinach. Waitstaff was super nice and the food was good- just boring.
We had a great NYE dinner
It’s was just OK! My second time here.
it was sooo nice in somo such a great atmosphere and the food was great!!
Celebrated my birthday brunch here. We were a party of 10 everything was delicious. The service was great! Love the decor/ambiance.
Went to Brunch before the Army/Navy game and was very impressed.
We have been wanting to try it because we loved the restaurant that was previously there....WOW!!! The fried chicken you could clearly tell was FRESHLY hand breaded and fried. It was off the charts!! The lobster Mac n cheese 😍😍 cheesy grits, can’t say they r the best because I’ve never had them before but I’m in love lol!! Music sucked that they were playing but it’s worth it. The place is gorgeous!! Btw our waitress Jess was wonderful and friendly!!
Exceed my expectations! Food was all homemade and delicious. Waitress, Whitney was friendly. Close to eagles stadium . Great for a date night or brunch
I have been to the Somo location in Manayunk several times and love it. I was in South Philly with friends and we decided to try this location. The ambiance is so nice here and really sets the mood for a good time. The food was good but not great like the other location. We had the Brussel sprouts which were yummy, the disco fries were sort of drenched in gravy which some folks may enjoy but I would have preferred a drizzle. The lemon garlic wings were the biggest disappointment. The chicken was not seasoned at all aside from the fresh lemon and garlic that was sprinkled on top after it was fried. Service was friendly and fast, management came over to check on our table - very nice. I would go back, sometimes it takes a while for new places to get in their groove. Lastly, the menu was a little different - I always order the mussels at Somo but this location didn’t have them on the menu - I was sad about that.
One friend got charged with tax for a glass of wine during happy hour that was $5 wine so she paid more than $5 while another friend, her tab came to $5 even so not sure what happened there?! We ordered flatbread, it never came. We inquired about it. Turns out it was 86’d and were were never told. It was also never taken off the check. Unfortunately we didn’t notice until after we paid. Getting that fixed was a whole big deal. The lobster Mac and cheese was decent. The pasta with the scallops was not very good.
It had a great ambiance and music was good. Nothing that happened was horrible and I think I would give them another chance, bc I believe maybe the staff just wasn’t trained enough. But I wouldn’t suggest it for anything other than a happy hour.
First time dining here. Went before a Wells Fargo event. Food and service were excellent. Daily happy hour from 5-7 is a great deal for drinks and apps. The rest of the menu offered a good variety of dishes and ours were delicious. I would highly recommend to anyone and we will absolutely be going back.
Our server was so sweet, and the food was great. They def need a second bar, or another service bar bc the drinks take forever every time we go! However, we do love to drink, they’re always good, so we may just drink fast! we left happy
There was nothing on the menu we wanted to eat! The bartenders were good though!
Service downstairs at happy hour was very good thanks to our server Valerie. Once we went upstairs for dinner, everything went downhill. 4 out of 5 of us had to send our food back because it was undercooked, cold, and tasteless. The manager was nice enough to take our food off the bill, and sent us complimentary desserts. Sorry to say, they weren't any better. Maybe they just need to get the kinks out since it just opened 3 weeks ago.
The only problem I had with this place is that there was sooooooo many things I wanted to try but only so much time in the day!!!! This was amazing food! The chef created us a special dish off menu! Adam was an extreme delight, humorous and friendly! Will definitely be back! Very soon! Highly recommend trying this gem!
Excellent new place. Will try again.
Clean, chic and modern restaurant. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a variety of small and medium plates. The food was delicious and the service was great. Brian the bartender was polite, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. I’ll definitely stop back again on my way through Philadelphia. Well done!
it ws clean, ambiance was nice and food was delish! so was the sevice
Our server, Joe was attentive, friendly, professional and we felt welcomed. He had a good understanding of all the dishes and explained them well. Two additional people (managers maybe) came to the table through the meal to check on us. The meatballs, brussel sprouts with bacon, grilled shrimp were delicious as well as the mushroom pasta and the buttermilk fried chicken, grits & greens. The ceaser salad was unique. One of us loved it, the other did not. The artichoke and carrot was a beautiful dish but a little underwhelming as far as flavor, rather bland. Drinks are center city prices. For an average but very good Sauv blanc a glass costs a little more than a full bottle of the same in any wine store, but they give you a generous pour. The specialty cocktail was pretty and tasty but a very small glass, packed with ice, did not get to enjoy the flavor of the cocktail nearly enough, gone in a few short sips. Switched to the expensive glass of average wine, but it was much more fulfilling. Creme brulee was very good. The restaurant decor was trendy and pretty. They did a very nice job. Very pleasant atmosphere. We will return soon. We are very happy to have a new restaurant in this neighborhood. Thank you
My only complaint is the price of milk. $4.00 a glass. I don't feel as though that price is warranted. It's a neighborhood restaurant, not center city.
