Amazing food! This place is beautiful and the ambiance is something to love. Unfortunately the server was off. I was embarrassed for her. But the manager there handled things the day after so well. This place cares about their customers to say the least! The food and the drinks are an absolute vibe! I will be back, but hopefully we miss the server. Thank you Somo!
The food was not worth the price and our waiter wasn’t tipped because she wasn’t as present as she needed to be. They recommended the strawberry mojito to us but it tasted like old lemonade, then the airline chicken was disgusting, it was so dry and no taste. I was highly disappointed, but I did love the atmosphere, it’s really nice in there, it was way too loud from the music. I am going to give them another try and try the brunch since I see a lot of people go during brunch time. Hopefully it’s not as bad, but they need to do better. First impressions are everything.
It was really good and the decor was Luxe. Perfect for our Anniversary brunch in a different city. Our server was bomb too, can’t remember her name but I remember her telling me she was from Jersey. Kudos to her and I hope that her manager sees that we’re praising her. Thanks SOMO!
Great place! My server was stupendous. Grayson is solely the reason i will return. Very Fast, very nice, made it a great experience.
The salmon BALT was so good. My server Erin was really nice!
The entire staff was amazing. Marissa (the manager) was very polite and professional. Would highly recommend!
It was nice. We waited a long time for our entrees and was unimpressed. The appetizers were great though
We went on Valentine's Day because we were able to make a last-minute reservation. There wasn't really a wait so that was a good thing. They sat us in an area that seemed to be near a side door so I asked to be moved because it was FREEZING. Thye had a fixed menu (which we expected) but we did not expect not to be able to order off their regular menu. I got the salmon it was subpar my boyfriend got the steak and crab patty (was NOT a crab cake) and it was not tasty. Our bill came up to $200 (definitely steakhouse prices) for one drink and dinner, I was appalled and disappointed.
I did enjoy the drinks but outside of that, I will not be returning.
Amazing experience from the food to the servers will be returning and the Valentine’s Day menu was pretty cool
Went for Valentine's and got the Valentine dinner special. They were out of one of the appetizers and one of the desserts. Food was ok, roasted potatoes were on the crunchier side. Loud music was played throughout the night but wasn't really the kind that you expected for a dinner date. Mixed up my dessert and the strawberry shortcake was actually just a cookie which brought even more disappointment. Not sure if its the restaurant itself but no water refills the entire dinner so we were parched. Overall, I don't think that dinner was worth $75 per person, it felt more like $75 for two.
Had to leave due to the prefixed menu
didn't advertise valentine's special at all, understand that restaurants are hurting and happy to support but that's sneaky, plus it was overpriced for the portions and quality. just moved to Manayunk and will never go back
My girlfriend and I came to SOMO for vday and it was a subpar experience. They seemed rushed and overbooked. The experience lacked intimacy from the service of waiters/waitresses, to the ambiance. The food was just ok, nothing special about it. Appetizer was cold. I could go on and on. SOMO dropped the ball on this and I’ll probably never go back.
We made a reservation well in advance for Valentine’s Day. We arrived and told that they were running 10-15 minutes behind, but would seat us soon which was no big deal. One hour later we get seated with a minimal apology, a shrug, and a statement that “we are doing our best.”
Once we sat, we were given the prefix dinner menu. Neither the menu online or the one on the website said that the prefix price was per person -75 per person not including drinks and a mandatory 15% tip. Fine.
While I don’t have a care in the world when it comes to spending money for a dinner out especially on Valentine’s Day, I take offense to SOMO parroting a few normal menu items and up charging. For example, the salad and salmon on the prefix menus can be had for 11 and 26 dollars each on a normal day totaling 37 dollars. The same items on the prefix menu plus a small dessert costs 75. Either the dessert is worth 38 dollars or it’s a blatant rip off - I think we know which.
We found it so offensive that we got up, left, and went home.
In short, they overbooked, under delivered, and took advantage of diners. We had been guests at Somo before, but not after this.
Came here for valentine's day with my fiancé and we both were disappointed. They had
a prefixe menu for dinner which isn't a problem. However, the food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't worth what they were charging. The ambience also wasn't good and the service was very slow, we waited 30+ minutes for our entrees. This was our first time at SOMO and their regular menu looks good so maybe we'll give them another chance. But for Valentine's Day dinner it felt like a waste of money.
Very cool place. I plan to go back soon and try some more good food!
Food came cold, waitress barely checked on us , dining room was cold soda was watered down
Outstanding. We had the Valentine’s Day prefix menu. We had Lobster Bisque Soup and a Caesar salad to start. Both were great and I wish that soup was on the regular menu. We also ordered the shrimp and lobster Mac and cheese - phenomenal. We had the 6 oz filet with lobster tail and a 6 oz filet with a crab cake - again phenomenal. And chocolate lava cake for dessert. We loved everything and can’t wait to go back!
We absolutely loved our experience at Somo!!Great Time!! Delicious food! The staff was very attentive and polite! Unfortunately we were only visiting Philly or this place would definitely see us more often!
Though it was extremely busy (Valentine's weekend), the atmosphere and food were high quality. Really nice staff and management team!
I made a reservation for indoor but was seated in a tent outside that was beyond freezing. I also had called to make sure I was indoor.
Usually, the noise level at SOMO is pretty low and very quite and discrete. However, this time around patrons were super noisy and I shouldn’t be able to hear other people’s convo while I’m trying to enjoy my night out. Otherwise, food was great per usual, the service provided to us by our waiter was amazing, and my friend loved it-it was her first time.
Ok so this was my second time ! Once for brunch the. For dinner ! Absolutely amazing flavorful well cook food ! Perfected drinks ! I’m obsessed I can wait to come back on the 26th with another friend group ! Compliments to the creator of this establishment!
Brunch was delicious and Greyson was a great server. Definitely going back!
We decided on SOMO last minute and were very impressed. Everything was perfect and will definitely return whenever we visit our daughters at Saint Joseph's University.
Had brunch outside in a “pod”. Toasty, private, perfect for a winter dining experience that felt perfectly safe. We didn’t even need our coats. Food & bottomless mimosas were great, service was great considering they had to poke into individual closed pods to check on people. Will definitepy be back!
Great atmosphere! Music and food were great! My server was fabulous! Never had to reach out for a refill because she was already on top of it! Great!
Birthday. Jenell was our waitress and she was great! The ambiance was good as well. The food wasn’t too flavorful but it did come out quickly. Overall, Somo was pretty good.
The outdoor pods were the perfect way to enjoy a nice meal during the winter. The wait staff was so patient, even though I’m sure it was quite a pain to continually have to open the curtains while holding trays, etc. Our cocktails, specifically the Respect Your Elderflower, were so tasty. Thank you, SOMO, for continuing to reinvent yourselves to meet the needs of Manayunk!
Delicious, safe and fun. We were with our toddler who loved eating their pancakes in what he called a “dollhouse” outdoors. The manager stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our meals. The crab cake benedict and cannoli french toast were exceptional. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
Even in the dead of winter, they did a great job decorating to really complete the restaurant experience outdoors too! Food 10/10, highly recommend the beignets!!! And our server Molly was truly the best!
Great service and delicious food. Fried chicken French toast and huevos rancheros exceeded expectations.
Brunch was yummy and the decor, ambiance, and service was great! The Seared Salmon on the BALT was beautifully cooked but the dish overall was a smidge salty. Would certainly go back!
Absolutely love Somo. The food and atmosphere is good. We were a little close for my liking during indoor dining however, masks were worn the entire time outside of when people were eating.
Very nice brunch menu. Bottomless mimosas taste great and they’re very active in refilling your glass. Entrees are all quite good. Certainly not the cheapest brunch but not expensive either. Great place to go with friends.
Just wanted to let your entire staff know that you are doing an amazing job! I can’t imagine the stress you are all under. FANTASTIC dinner!
We arrive on time for our reservation and were seated . We sat for 20 minutes, no waiter came , we ended up leaving and going to a different restaurant in manayunk . It was not busy (Friday after the lunch rush) so I’m not sure what was going on. I dine here often and was disappointed.
Sadly Somo has disappointed us yet again. While the cocktails are quite good, the food is always bland and boring. The menu is pretty limited and honestly a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. This was our second time trying Somo and will be out last. Don’t waste your time here, you might as well go to Jake’s and Cooper’s up the street.
Yummy. Delicious huevos rancheros. Great drinks. Nice vibes! Excited to go back.
We paid for bottomless mimosas but the servers were very slow to refill and then she brought us the check before we were done to cut us off. In the end we only had about 3 each which is the opposite of bottomless.
