My family and I wanted to try some place new to us, Somo has a very nice vibe and setting and our waitress Hailey was really sweet and patient. The appetizers came out in good time but the entrees took forever to come out. Having said that, all the food was absolutely delish! I would recommend this place to friends and family and I will definitely come back to dine.
Great food and great service. Bottomless for $26 was well worth it! Loved the outdoor seating and inside looked nice too.
We went for late breakfast on a weekday. Please to discover they serve brunch daily. Fresh eggs and homemade English muffins. Great service.
A little warm inside, wish it was a little cooler inside but also understandable due to the recent extreme hot weather but not discouraged that I won’t return. Overall the food, staff and drinks were amazing. Can’t wait to come back! ❤️
Food and service was great. Cocktails on point! Love the new addition added (we haven’t been for some time and certainly missed it!).
This would be an excellent restaurant to revisit but they need to fix their air conditioning system. Food and staff were great
Great service and great food
Had to wait 30+ minutes even though we had reservations. Waitress was horrible, and restaurant was extremely hot, should have had better air circulating.
Great meal with my sisters. Wait staff did a fine job
SOMO is my new favorite spot!!! The food and drinks are amazing, the atmosphere is even better, and the workers are absolutely amazing! The general manager was awesome and super friendly! I will 100% be back!
The food was amazing. The service was absolutely great. My friends and I had a great time.
I visited on Friday 7/17 and found out there wasn’t happy hour on Fridays, which is fine and we still enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back on a weeknight for happy hour!
We ended up sitting at the bar and had Ryan as a bartender. You could see that he was hustling and very busy but still made us feel very welcomed and his service was so attentive!
The meatball appetizer was basically a whole meal and was delicious! I loved the ricotta. The asparagus was phenomenal and tasted fresh and was cooked to a perfect texture. The manager was active on the floor checking on bar guests and on tables which was nice to see. Been before and would definitely be back!
Great spot for a bottomless mimosa brunch! Service was good and food was great!
Some dishes were quite expensive but did not get a lot for the price
We went to Somo for a business dinner and dined inside. The food was excellent, loved the appetizers we ordered and entrees for our clients were great. The drinks were fine for the beer and cocktails, one guest ordered the mojito which was bitter and not balanced.
The waitstaff was good, but busy and kept having to run back to get sharing plats, added silverware, etc. The noise level where we were was really loud and our table was between the server pick up window and restrooms. It was far enough away, but still a really busy spot with a lot of activity.
Overall, great food choices and super convenient to park near. If I sat in a better spot, would have probably made the experience better.
Great service despite how busy they were. Friendly staff. Excellent apps and pasta dishes. Great teamwork happening with staff.
Friendly service and great ambience !
Baked Brie, Calamari, Shrimp Scampi all were fantastic. Great atmosphere and our waiter was very knowledgeable . For cocktails we had the Frose & lychee martini and both were perfect as well. Thanks SOMO!
I was looking for a little cafe or boutique restaurant. I picked Somo based on the pictures on their website. It was very misleading. There isn't much atmosphere or ambience in the restaurant. There is outside setting that is cozy for 2 but not for larger parties. Ok for hanging with friends but not a date night.
The ambience was nice and it wasn’t too crowded. However, they didn’t have almost anything my husband ordered from the brunch menu. If it wasn’t for the server being so honest and kind, I probably would have gave it less stars for service.
Everything was okay except the service. It took over an hour to get our food and when we did, most of the orders came to us wrong. You could not substitute the pork bacon for turkey bacon so we all had to place a side order of turkey bacon. One person did not receive his food when the rest of the table received their food therefore he had to wait an additional 20 mins. to get his food. In the end the manager did comp his food and the turkey bacon we all ordered. Hopefully, the service will improve.
2 hours to get food. Food was overcooked. Even with the wait, there were just things unacceptable
It was Okay. Nothing special. Kitchen was backed up and took almost an hour to receive our breakfast dishes that were not even that hot. Bottomless mimosas were tasty and fairly inexpensive. The decor and vibe were amazing and i loved the pictures i got! Parking was easy.
We often brunch on Sunday’s but yesterday was special because we were celebrating a birthday. We selected Somo based on a friend’s experience and their menu items. The hostess (yellow dress) and I am going to assume a possible manager was very hospitable and accommodating. However our server Dana was the complete opposite. After placing our orders we waited an hour before receiving our meal. But in the meantime With the exception of refilling our guest of honor’s mimosa she never checked in on us nor did she offer any information regarding the delay in the delivery of our meal. When I was finally able to get her attention to ask about our meal, she stated, “ there’s two tables ahead of you”. Which still doesn’t explain the hour long wait. (It wasn’t until the birthday spoke to her way from the table that we learned the kitchen was backed up (which I definitely understand but wish she thought enough of us to come to our table and share that information. Also I even asked if we could receive the Beignets we ordered to feast on while waiting on our meal. She said yes but never returned with the Beignets nor made mention of them once we received our meal. When our food finally arrived I asked that the Beignets be removed from the order which she did do that correctly. Dana could benefit from customer service training. Where it’s emphasized that customers are important and that communication is everything! I am a person who always tips20% or above but i only tipped 15% and it literally pained me to do that.
Now because of the delicious chicken & French toast I will definitely try this establishment again with the hopes of having a better experience & not being serviced by Dana.
Enjoyed brunch. It was a nice place and really enjoyed the food.
Our party had the short ribs, halloumi salad, and the chicken sandwich, and we all enjoyed our meal. The acoustics in the second room (not the original room with bar) are tough - very loud - and the overall room is not as cozy as the original room.
Food, drinks, service all great.
My group discovered SOMO’s best kept secret - an indoor/outdoor BARN located in the back of the restaurant. It’s so private and the AIR CONDITIONER felt incredible!! I highly suggest you check it out especially on a HOT day!!
You were out of many many menu items and it was very hot inside
Food was satisfactory but several items not available. Very loud inside but service was excellent
Great brunch birthday date! Food was delicious. Drinks were great. Service was a little slow but it is a popular spot in manayunk so that is to be expected. Overall great experience. Will be returning for that Salmon B. A. L. T.
Wonderful staff. Very attentive. Went there for brunch and enjoyed every bit. Only issue was there was a large bridal shower party and they took a lot of attention however waiters were still checking in on us and apologizing for the extended wait for the food. I would go back!
My fiancé and myself frequent Somo quite regularly and usually have no complaints but this time the service was way too slow. Our server was very forgetful and took forever with our drink and food order. We waited for drinks for over 20 minutes(Georgia on my mind) and over 50 mins for our entrees to come out. First our meals came out at different times. When my Somo burger came out the fries were cold like it had been sitting there for a while. And my fiancé’s ginger glazed salmon came out 15 mins after my meal was brought over. The rice wasn’t hot and the salmon was over cooked. After a hour of waiting we just boxed up our food and left. We were very displeased with our evening out to Somo which is usually a highlight of our busy weekly schedule.
I made the right choice when I decided to celebrate my birthday here. I will be a repeat customer .
5 star experience for brunch! Amazing food and bottomless mimosas are where it is at!! Ask for John as your server he will make your experience outstanding and is so entertaining to talk to!
Everything I expected. This is a great place to meet friends or go for business. Service was exceptional. Food was outstanding!
We had great service and the foot and drinks were really good! Try the cheeseteak which is to die for!
Great time, great environment , SOMO is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia to grab a meal.
Loved it!! This was my first time back since the pandemic and I really missed the food!! Will be back 🙂
Great vibes, awesome service like always. I gave the food and value a lower rating because they were out of stock (we went on the 5th) on many of the favorites and we had to make due with items on the menu that are less desirable. I assume the holiday (4th) had a lot to do with it. Will still go again, as the drinks still slapped, per usual.
