We had a really nice experience, with good drinks and good food. We ordered the burrata appetizer (yum!), the wedge salad (yum!), the fried chicken sandwich (yum!), and the seared tuna (pretty good). The tuna came out completely overcooked, which I pointed out to our server and she immediately agreed with me and brought it back to the kitchen. The kitchen quickly prepared a replacement, which was MUCH better. I have had better though, so I probably wouldn't order it again, especially for the price ($35!). We'll definitely be back though. They were pretty good with covid precautions too (we sat inside).
The food and drinks were delicious, and the scenery was beautiful.
Great dinner- they were out of a bunch of items but everything we ate was delicious.
SOMO is my favorite spot in Manayunk for lunch/dinner. This was my first time dining there for brunch. I took my mom for Mother’s Day brunch today and was so surprised by the extreme wait time (food-wise). Our reservation was for 11:15 and maybe that isn’t early to everyone, but to us, we felt it was somewhat on the early side for brunch and we didn’t expect SOMO to be packed at that time. We were seated in one of the covered booths outside, they have a small heater inside which was great to have on such a chilly and rainy day in May! Once we were seated we ordered our drinks and our food at the same time and then waited an hour for our food to come out. The kitchen definitely could not keep up with the fixed menu (for Mother's Day) as well as the A la carte menu, the tables surrounding us also waited over an hour for food. By the end of our meal, we actually felt rushed, after all of that waiting was very unpleasant. When you arrive at SOMO they give you a little piece of paper that states what time you have to be out of your table, ours said 1:00 yet we didn’t get our food until 12:30! Our food was great and our server was super nice but it was unfortunately not the best treat for Mother’s Day with the extreme wait for our meal and rushed feeling while finally eating. While I always will recommend SOMO as a restaurant, I can’t suggest coming here on a holiday. If you’re willing to try, just be prepared to wait a while for drinks & food. It's a much better experience dining here during the week, without any special events going on.
We were sat 30 minutes after our reservation time. I went in with my two friends and we are all in our early twenties and because of this I believe they felt it was okay to seat us at a two top instead of a regular size table for our party size. The unstable two top was also right by the door which was opened and left open by multiple servers coming in and out making all of us extremely cold at our table. We mad the reservation to specifically to avoid being sat outside. Lastly we had our dessert comp’d because it took too long. Unfortunately this experience does not make us want to return.
Worst restaurant experience in years. I tried to take my wife out for her first Mother’s Day. When we hadn’t received our order 1 Hour and 15 minutes after placing it, we decided to leave. I offered to pay for the cocktail she had and the beer I had and they actually accepted. They ruined our Mother’s Day and still had us pay a crummy $20 tab. This place is an absolute joke. There is no management or respect for their customers.
I also tried to contact them to discuss how unhappy I was with this experience and they never got back to me. Expect to see this place closing before too long.
I made a reservation for brunch and got there on time. After waiting 15 minutes for our table, I checked in with the host and was told he’d mistakenly given our table away. When we finally got seated we waited 15 minutes for menus, 15 minutes for drinks and over and hour for our food after we had ordered it. My husband ordered the bagel with lox- a cold dish- over an hour. He ordered a side of scrapple which we had to ask for again after it didn’t come out with the food. My crab cake benedict was ok, not hot, not a lot of crab. My 11 month old’s pancake was the best thing. His meltdown after being in a high chair for 2 hours was not the best thing. The waitress comped our drinks, it was the least they could do. My recommendation if you go here for brunch is to be prepared to wait, or ask the server how long it’s taking for the food to come out.
Food is a little pricey for what you get, coffee machine was broken, other than that it was a really pleasant experience. Very pretty and relaxing restaurant for brunch.
Erin was such a joy! The bottomless mimosas were everything! The fried chicken French toast was a great combination of sweet and savory.
The whole energy of this place and vibe, was so extraordinary and perfect, along with delicious food and customer service, was magnificent!!! No complaints at all and this will be the only place in Philly that I will be going to for now on when it comes to eating a great dinner with my wife! 🙏🏽
Casey was stingy with the bottomless mimosas
Definitely returning. Good spot for a date or brunch with your girls.
First time, great food!
Presentation of food was awful. Bathrooms were not clean at 11:45am.
Waited 30 minutes for coffee
The food and ambiance were great but my server Amy made it awesome
Great food. Great service. Great drinks.
Can’t wait to go back again!!
We ate outside and it was very loud and noisy. Food was delicious but expensive. WE had two dinners ,one beer and one Diet Coke and the bill was over $60. ...dinner did not come with anything.. no bread, no side salad etc. Service was ok but slow
Loved the vibe and food. Our waitress was very welcoming and professional. Definitely top brunch spots in the area!
Nice vibe but the food was mediocre
Always a great experience here! Great food - Great service - Great management! Highly recommended!!
Kitchen staff seemed a little confused with the menu. Our wonderful waitress Gina worked it out quick.
wait staff was very attentive and fast bringing out drinks, apps, dessert
The food was excellent! We tried the bruschetta that we never had before and it was so pretty and delicious! Very fresh! We also had the warm soft pita bread with smashed Pea purée, and warm Burrata... The mushroom Pappardelle, and the smashed Pea burgers! I substituted the Parmesan fries for sweet potato fries and left out the roasted peppers, but my friend had his, the way it comes, and he loved it!
Brunch is my fav. You can never go wrong with the seasonal omelet and the Respect your Elderflowers cocktail! Service was fantastic. Definitely a place to visit!
Decided to grab a late lunch and a friend recommended SOMO. It was a lovely day so dining outside would have been perfect. Made the reservation online and requested outdoor seating. When we arrived all availability outside was taken so we sat by the bar. Our server Gina was super helpful and friendly. She recommended delicious drinks and food however they restaurant shuts down COMPLETELY for an hour around 4pm. That would have been nice to know either online or when we arrived. We order drinks and wings (which were delicious) I just would have loved to dine for a full meal experience. But definitely going back another day
This was my first time dining at Somo for brunch and I was excited to try some of their menu items. I went with a few friends on a Saturday morning. They were pretty busy and that was nice to see again after such a tough year with the pandemic. Our waiter was very attentive but had some unsanitary practices like giving us straws that he touched on the tips with his fingers. I grabbed us some new ones when he wasn’t looking. Also, the food was good but it arrived at our table lukewarm instead of hot so that was a bit disappointing. The cocktails were delicious! I would probably consider revisiting Somo again for brunch but only after trying some other restaurants in the area first.
The lobster and shrimp Mac and cheese was delicious! Service was great! Nice intimate spot for a date night or hanging with friends
Super cute date night spot! Definitely make reservations!
Love the environment, servers was great , food was delicious and the drinks was to die for. Definitely will be going back.
Great drinks, energetic atmosphere and average food.
It was so good!!! It’s worth the money from the food drinks down to the service....
A great, quiet night out with my beau. Thanks
From the front door , to the front of the house... the service was superb! The food was delicious 😋 . Coming back in a few weeks ;)
Food was pretty good, took forever and was expensive for what you got. Tasted great but again horrible service
Food was very good! 10/10
Late Sunday brunch on a beautiful spring day.
Reserved outdoor dining for 2
Arrived on time... then
Waited 20+ mins to be seated even though there are very specific time restrictions per reservation.
and after some confusion on wait staff we did get to place our order which came 30+ mins later with only half the correct order.
Staff were apologetic and we did receive a 25 % comp on the Bill.
Outdoor dining was okay we were in this box and there was not much room to enjoy ourselves. The food and drinks were good though!
We were a party of 2. Our server was great. The food was also great. However, My issue was with the hostess. She wasn’t friendly and lacked customer service. Our appetizers arrived and we asked for condiments. She was quick to let us know she wasn’t our server therefore could not provide us with the items. We followed up and asked if she can let our server know we needed a few things. She hastily walked away. Then after we finished our meal, she said we needed to get going as the other party that reserved the table after us was waiting. We hadn’t received our bill yet. She then came back and asked if we were done as the other party was now waiting 30 minutes. No fault of ours for the delay. Our bill finally came and we paid it. Won’t be going back there again.
Love it as always. Keep up the excellent service!!
Mediocre food and service. I wouldn't go back unless I just wanted to grab a drink at the bar.
