Mussels and pulled pork sandwich was amazing! Would go back again!
Food was tasty, the staff was attentive, timing of delivery was good, and wine was very good.
Thanks for the positive review! We always love to get feedback from our great customers and are so happy to know you enjoyed your experience. Thank you for your business.
I was recommended by a friend so I flew into town to take my mother for Mother's Day brunch. She and I loved it, everything was great.
Thanks SFBE! We're so happy to hear you enjoyed our 5 star food and service. We really appreciate your business and support and look forward to seeing you again soon.
My french toast was complete mush and soggy it just wasnt cooked long enough
Went for brunch on Easter Sunday. French toast with waffles was phenomenal. Every food should be served with gravy and every gravy should have chorizo in it. Service was good. Waiter was apologetic when drinks came, we didn’t think it was too long a wait at all. Similar with the food. My daughter is a very picky eater, lots of choices for her (a waffle as a side was offered and worked perfect). Prices very reasonable as well. We knocked a few drinks back and were pleasantly surprised.
Amazing food and service, will definitely be coming back!
Great atmosphere, food and service. Comfortable for a brunch so I will try for an evening meal to see how it stacks up to other area spots.
Lovely setting, good food, great service.
The food was good, but nothing I'd go back again for. I was disappointed because I tried contacting the restaurant ahead of time to ask if their regular lunch menu was available during brunch hours and they read my message but never replied. When we got there, we were given the entire menu so we tried to order from the lunch menu. We were then told that only brunch was available. The menu was limited. While the food tasted good, it wasn't spectacular. The cocktails were good and the service was good. Overall, not overly impressed which was quite disappointing.
Food was great, very attentive service. Cocktails we're creative and strong while still tasty. Fairly loud athmosphere which we love and I think it fits the vibe they're going for, but don't expect to sit and have a quiet conversation during their busy hours. Overall great and would definitely go back
I would only recommend going to brunch if you are having bottomless mimosas. Otherwise everyone is too drunk to tolerate. I think that goes hand in hand with the noise level. Extremely loud. Requires shouting to carry conversation. Super into the food! Server forgot our credit card in kitchen for a half hour. Was MIA during that time frame.
Food was great! Bottomless mimosa were good and potent. Definitely will be returning.
We had a nice time. Food was good and service was great
Order the flower power brunch cocktail and the fried chicken french toast (with a side of bacon), you will not be disappointing!
I’ve been to SOMO several times for dinner. It was always great, so I decided to take my parents there for brunch. It was very noisy, but it was also busy so understandable. The service was pleasant and quick. My only complaint was the food was extraordinarily salty. We ordered two appetizers and entrees, and everything just seemed overloaded with salt. I had orders avocado toast, and it was so salty I couldn’t get past the first few bites. I really do like this place! It was just a shame to take my parents there when the food was not what I usually expect from there
A fun and happening spot but way too loud for conversation.
Absolutely amazing experience. From the food to the service everything was perfect. It is pricey but in my opinion worth it. I had the salmon sandwich which probably the best thing i ever tasted and the fries that come with it were equally as good. For apps we had them Brussel sprouts and a mix of garlic parm and honey sriracha wings they were delicious. For drinks we tried their ginger rogers and it was very refreshing
Second time we have tried Someone for a nice dinner with another couple and it again fell short. Ordered the steak frittes med rare and it was blue in the middle, steak was drenched in sauce, portobello burger had too much sauce, 24 beers always on tap and listed on the drink menu but only had 12, happy hour is now only available at the bar, food menu has changed and portions have been reduced. Outside of grabbing a quick drink and bar food, this place is really slipping. Seems all their attention and (good) menu items are going to Somo SoPhi. Really hoping Somo Manayunk reads these reviews and can turn it around, used to be one of our favorites.
I like SOMO a lot but this experience was underwhelming and the food not up to the usual standard of excellent.
The staff was so friendly! The food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!
My daughter ordered Mahi Mahi and it was very dry. She is gluten and dairy free and there was only one menu item that met her needs. The waiter didn't write down my entree and forgot to bring it.
Staff was awesome, food was superb, atmosphere was ideal
Love the food and the staff is very knowledgeable.
I took my boyfriend out for an early birthday celebration! We had a great experience except no one acknowledged my special occasion request. Other than that everything was wonderful!
Nice if you don't mind noise and close tables. Not a place for a romantic evening and menu is quite limited
This was our second time at Some. Our first experience was positive. This time around we were rather disappointed. The food was good but the service was terrible. We had to seek our server to order drinks. We had to seek out our server to order our meals. We had an 8:15 reservation and there were items on the menu that were out. We all ended up getting burgers. Had to seek out our server to order second drinks. Male server appeared to be pretty attentive to his customers. While we could not find our server. This is surprising since the establishment is rather small..hard not to be seen. Had to seek out server to get check.
Great cocktails, good food. Cute restaurant, but very small with tight spaces and tough to navigate your way over to the restroom past the bar if needed. Good for a date if reserved in advance, but very hard to just pop-in without a reservation which gets annoying because we're usually just looking to get cocktails at the bar and it's full, so that's good for the restaurant! (but tough for local residents looking for a nice drink...)
My friends and I go for the chicken and waffles....it never disappoints!
Great spot! Mussels. Octopus. We’re all delicious and amazing!!
Nice wait staff!
They had a prefixed menu for Valentine's day but also had a smaller regular menu. The food and cocktails were delicious
So fun!! Food and service amazing!! Highly recommend.
I’m not sure this is a fair review since they have a price fixed meal but we had a variety of items on that menu and it was so so. Plus they did not offer us the available smaller menu. We may have had another opinion if we tried their real menu. Service was great and place is very nice inside but we probably wouldn’t go back because of the food.
The food at SOMO is outstanding, not just good. The creamy lobster bisque had a deep, intense flavor that comes from carefully prepared lobster stock. The seared scallops and risotto were delicious, like the grilled mahi mahi. The chocolate pot de creme had little strips of preserved lemon that set off the chocolate. The portions are more European size, which is fine- I can eat all three courses and not feel stuffed. This is my favorite restaurant in Manayunk. The menu has small plates, sandwiches and salads in the $12- $15 or so range, desserts are all $8, and the entrees are in the twenty to thirty dollar range, so you can splurge or not. The food is a cut above, in all price ranges.
pictures on website make space looks bigger than it actually is. food was not very good. menu was not the same. not a pleasant experience. will not be back.
Valentines fixed prix menu. Sweet potato gnocci was too dense, lobster bisque was too heavy with too little lobster. The roasted chicken was spectacular. Desserts were run of the mill. The service was outstanding. The food was good but not as exciting or satisfying as i expected. Perhaps due to it being a special fixed price menu.
Went for valentines/anniversary. Food was delicious and I enjoyed the atmosphere because they music wasn't loud.
Amazing. Good atmosphere. Great food and service
Great service and very high quality food.
SOMO has excellent food, really interesting and delicious. For example, salad with little squares of roasted cheese, pomegranate seeds, watercress, baby spinach and terrific vinaigrette costs about two dollars more than very ordinary salads elsewhere. It's totally worthwhile. The small plates are great. Some menu items like salmon, bacon, lettuce and tomato with avocado sauce on a bun are not expensive, but delicious, and the more expensive items like tilapia with a jalapeno sauce are terrific, with interesting sides. The desserts, like banana bread pudding or home baked cakes of various kinds, are irresistible. Save room!
The servers are personable and efficient, not intrusive. Earlier in the evening the noise level is quiet, and then becomes moderate- then a bit lively, popular bar, but not bad.
