Our server EJ was wonderful & very knowledgeable about all menu items. The branzino, salmon, & brussel sprouts were amazingly delicious. We also had the mushrooms & burger, which were good, but not knock your socks off like the rest were. I would definitely recommend Someset! We will be back

I enjoy having lunch at Somerset. My and my colleague had a green lunch. Each of us ordered the Grain Bowl with Salmon. The dish was delicious and prepared to perfection. Our server was good but forgot to bring additional hot water to the table when asked; ultimately, he did so.

Very pleasant experience overall. The cook couldn't seem to get our avocado toast right. Initially it came out completely burned so we returned it. The second time it came out without the egg white on top so we waited again. The chicken sausage and libations were most enjoyable.

The truffle mashed potato was amazing, and the salmon was okay, nothing special, but cooked just right. I noted on the reservation that it was a birthday dinner, but was not acknowledged by the staff. We ordered dessert but no candle and even paid for it. I would still go there to eat but not for special occasions. Maybe I will try brunch next time.

My mom and I had dinner here on our girls weekend. The burrata appetizer was outstanding. We had the salmon and branzino which was cooked to perfection and seasoned well. Great location and ambiance.

Great service from the minute we arrived. And the care came as we drove up for valet service. We were a bit past restaurant entrance, so I went inside to ask for help. The manager, a tall, very handsome young man, came outside immediately and secured the valet. Then he followed my friend and I inside and oversaw our table assignment. He couldn't have known but my guest was George Jewell, a retired but still well-known and active Chicago caterer. And he's British and very particular about all things food and food service. It was his first visit to Sommerset. Our waiter was equally outstanding - gracious, helpful but not hovering. Everything we order was outstanding. Text from Mr. Jewell today read, "thank you for the splendid dinner last night."

Somerset provided excellent ambiance, although the service and food were lacking in excitement. My omelet was clean and flavorful, but my husband’s breakfast plate was a bit boring. The homemade sausage was the only saving grace. Toast came out burned. Overall, if you are looking for a classy place to dine, Somerset provides, but food failed to meet our expectations for a fun brunch experience.

We’ve eaten here many times over the years. We have always been pleased. Today started out poorly. Fifteen minutes until someone finally responded to our request for a waiter. The restaurant was not busy. The spinach goat cheese omelette was dry, thick, missing any salt or pepper, and a total disappointment. The spinach was at one end, the cheese at the other. No thought to even distribution. I had to take some sauce from my wife’s shakusha to get some semblance of flavor and moisture. The shashkusha was better than the omelette but not as good as it used to be. Not sure why the decline in quality, but it was startlingly bad. Until we know otherwise, we won’t be going back nor could we recommend it.

Matt and his team were AWESOME from start to finish! It is a MUST to go back as soon as we land in Chicago next time. I will dream about the peach burrata...YUMMY! The Octoberfest decorations put the icing on the cake and I loved sitting outside under the heaters...Perfection!!
