In a nutshell: we will be back!
We had to wait nearly 30 minutes even though we had a reservation, but the staff was extremely apologetic and were nice to comp us an appetizer which the host ordered in advance so it could be brought to our table immediately upon being seated. This was exceptional as I would've not expected this from a packed and trendy place, but this will make me come back and recommend it. The ambiance is lively, fun, and elegant. The food was also very good. My friend is a strict vegetarian, so we tried just one of the pastas and two veggie sides - all were great. I've also been for brunch in the summer on their front patio - ambiance also fantastic and food was great with hearty portions.
Would give this five stars for food and service, but once again the overly loud music drowns out any meaningful conversation and ruins the experience. How many people have to complain before restaurants get the message. We don’t need “fake” energy!
Great Old Fashioned
My girlfriends and I came here the first day of our Chicago trip, and it was the best decision! The food was delicious, the restaurant is so cute and the waiters were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!
We had a small baby shower brunch for our friend at Somerset. Before arrival they had called to confirm and asked what the Mother-to-Be's name was and had a special menu for her, the bartender also made her a fantastic mocktail, and they even decorated her dessert. They went above and beyond to help us celebrate our friend in style. Some of the best service I have ever experienced in the city.
We absolutely loved our brunch - every single detail! We will be back next time for sure.
Overall we enjoyed our dinner at Somerset, a place we had been wanting to try out since it opened. Service was a bit slow to begin with but picked up and was attentive and well done. We ordered a number of items that were all outstanding and very well done. Will definitely return!
The menu was okay. The most disappointing part of our evening was the service. Our waiter was very slow in getting back to us for orders and drinks. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Well crafted menu executed with excellence. The service was exceptional. The noise level may not be conducive for quiet conversation, but the people watching makes up for it. Would surely go back.
We loved every aspect of our experience, from the moment we walked in and were greeted with warm smiles. Outstanding service, food, ambiance. We ordered everything our server recommended and it was perfect. Will recommend and come back for sure
The entire experience -- from food to service -- was excellent. The place is worth the price of a meal. And the cocktails were great.
Enjoyed pasta dishes and lovely wine list. Servers so helpful and professional
The food was good but really fatty the crispy chicken and not valued the price
Excellent unique food options-
The bartenders were very riensly
Lots of personal
Very creatively delicious food from cocktails to dessert.
I liked That the server asked if there were any allergies on the table. It was nice they brought out a dessert for my birthday and DID NOT SING. The server could have been a bit more attentive in the beginning.
We felt rushed through dinner and the restaurant was only half full so no one was waiting for a table.
Great place. Great food. Decent value. Loved the oysters
Loved the Sunday brunch with girlfriends. Just didn’t get to showcase Chicago service as we had to ask twice who our sever was and then was still not given much attention to take our orders or be proactive with service follow up - we were hungry and expected more prompt service. Loved the ambience and great food. Thanks.
Service was very poor. Great decor, decent food, but service needs work.
Can't wait to come back. Great breakfast and friendly staff.
Sad to know that brunch starts at 10 am so our menu was limited, but our waiter brought us a little treat (cinnamon roll) from the kitchen anyway!!
Very very very slow service
Service was a bit slow even though restaurant not jamming.
We went to Somerset for a birthday dinner with friends. The food was delicious. We ordered the octopus and oysters to start. For entrees we had the duck, squid ink pasta, and scallops. Everything was very good. The only negative was the waitress. The service was a little slow with drink orders and the waitress always added her two cents/cracked jokes that made it a bit uncomfortable. We would still go back as it was a fun night with great food.
Service here is always great. Great salad for a nice business lunch. Outdoor seating is great.
Great romantic date night for my husbands 40th birthday celebration. Excellent food and service on beautiful patio
A little disappointed with service. We waited about 15 minutes for our table even though quite a few seemed to be open and it was a Wednesday (not that busy). We had called ahead about bringing our own bottle of wine and they were very accommodating (cork fee applies and the bottle can't be offered on the menu). Upon being seated, it took more than 15 minutes to get three glasses and have the bottle opened. Factoring in the time we got there for our 7pm reservation, with the wait for the table, and despite ordering all of our items relatively quickly (one salad, one appetizer and three entrees) the three of us were there 2 1/2 hours. I wasn't looking to dine that long and still unsure why it took so long. They really seem to stretch dinner service out so be prepared. Service aside, the portions are very small but very tasty.
Loved it — beautiful space!
I had the heirloom tomato BLT and it was divine. It came with a peach side salad which was similarly delicious. The service was excellent .
The omelet was tasteless and mediocre at best. The salad and potatoes were ok but I certainly expected a lot more from Somerset.
Everything was great, the place, the service and specially the food! Chicken and French Toast is outstanding!
Awesome place to eat with a group because of the varied menu items that will please all. From vegetarians to carnivores.
The fresh mint chocolate chunk ice cream was outstanding!
Tables are a little bit too close to each other. It got a little bit hard to squeeze in.
We were happy to sit on the patio on a beautiful night. Turns out, there were mosquitoes everywhere which really marred the experience. I also asked for my salad lightly dressed which did not happen. When I mentioned that to our server, he did nothing to rectify. Flatbread and my husband's kale salad were delicious. Will try again after mosquito season!
We arrived early and the staff was beyond reproach for their concern and settling us at an appropriate table.
The sea bass was over cooked and dry - most of the table ordered this dish so we were all disappointed. The flatbread appetizer was nice and the side dishes were good. Service as good. Overall my table was not wowed like we would have expected from the Boka group.
